  1. I’d be OK with that, but only if it’s Jack Johnson playing and singing. I love that this thread is ongoing. It’s a hoot. Rather like the neighbor‘S wife playing and singing, I have had group conversations in which the person who dominates that conversation believes that by speaking ever louder, they become more interesting and credible. They seek the attention and that’s their way of getting it. I hope this lady isn’t the same….perhaps regardless of her talent (or lack thereof), it’s the attention she is seeking, not demonstrating her prodigious musical talents (or lack thereof).
  2. Thanks! Have kicked around looking at Princess, just never pulled the trigger, for a variety of reasons. Panama Canal is bucket list cruise, sooner than later. Eventually, I'll get back to Italy and Greece. Was supposed to do it last year, but...well... Let us know what you decide and where you're going.
  3. OP....from what I've seen in the Garden Cafe, I'd be shocked if there wasn't something there your kids would not like. What is it you're trying to bring that would require a microwave?
  4. Gary....agree on all counts. Still a bit miffed about it. If I hadn't flown to FL before that cruise, NCL could have checked guests in, cancelled the cruise immediately afterwards, and counted me as a "no show" and kept the entire cruise fare I paid. Even insurance wouldn't have covered that. They knew the hurricane was coming. And, they knew it was due to hit the day the cruise was supposed to set sail. I kept calling my TA to see if it was cancelled before I flew out. She (shockingly) said it was going to sail. I even thought to myself..."well, if NCL believes they can sail around it, they know better than me". Boy, was I ever wrong. I think (I hope, I pray) that COVID shutdown has left, not only NCL, but all cruise lines, with a better understanding that their guests' safety isn't just something they can talk about, but must be proactive in protecting. Said it before, I do give NCL credit. Up until just now, over the last 2.5+ years, they required everyone to be vaccinated and tested. They didn't waver from that until recently. Saw a stat that 95+% of their customer base is vaccinated as of right now. But, as much as I have irritated by NCL (and, over the years, that's been a lot), I keep coming back. I'm not exclusive to NCL though. I like the product Celebrity puts out, too. I know @JamieLogical gas taken a similar route with her NCL frustrations and turning to Celebrity. As an aside, I guess it could be worse. I just saw a blurb that Carnival is now charging for Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches. Don't know the details, but talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face with a policy.......LOL!
  5. Not sure everyone knows this about this cruise, but there are updates to the requirements to sail in, to, and from Canada…… For Sailings on or after September 30, 2022: Canada has removed all COVID-19 entry restrictions for all travellers regardless of citizenship. Guests will no longer have to: submit public health information through the ArriveCAN app or website provide proof of vaccination undergo pre- or on-arrival testing carry out COVID-19-related quarantine or isolation monitor and report if they develop signs or symptoms of COVID-19 upon arriving to Canada.
  6. Yeah…that was a cluster. I was really steamed at NCL. They refused to cancel our Caribbean cruise regardless of all the weather predictions of the impending hurricane. They finally did cancel 7 hours before embarkation time (3:00 a.m.). My TA called me at my hotel to inform me. That‘s when I decided she would get ALL of my business, as she was dedicated enough to call her clients who she’d booked on the same cruise, staying up practically all night to do so. Trying to get a flight back home was quite the endeavor, too. One of those cruise (or, should I say “non-cruise” experiences) I’d rather forget. Hoping those affected by Ian stay well and safe.
  7. Howdy…..Howdy!!!!! It is an AWAY bag…the larger carry on. I’ve tossed it, banged it, threw it, had it in and out of overheads, through multiple luggage carousels, etc. Little scraped up, but has held up well. IIRC, it has a lifetime warranty! I like it…..particularly for cruises. Took the family (6 of us-2 YC cabins)on an MSC 14 day Mediterranean cruise before the shutdown out of Barcelona. Came in just under $10K all in. Beautiful ship…..great trip!
  8. Just checked again. This shows up when you click the “Sail Safe” again. https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/sail-safe
  9. Thanks…..It would be great if NCL would be on top of this as it happens vs after the fact. The “Sail Safe” protocols that were attached to my reservation yesterday and now gone. I’m betting they’re updating them and will post new ones later.
  10. HMMMMM….it was listed for my Breakaway cruise sailing 10/30….a month from now!
  11. It’s under PREPARE FOR YOUR CRUISE. https://www.ncl.com/prepare-for-your-cruise/
  12. Hmmmm….just checked on my cruise which departs from NYC to Canada on Oct 30. This is what’s listed on the requirements attached to my cruise… Sail Safe. Feel FreeVACCINATIONS, HEALTH & SAFETY Pre-Cruise Vaccinations, Testing, Screening & Check-in All guests age twelve and over must be fully vaccinated at least 2 weeks prior to embarkation. Proof of accepted vaccination against COVID-19 must be shown at the cruise pier to board the ship. In order to facilitate, Norwegian has partnered with Inspired Diagnostics lab to ensure that guests have access to a quick, efficient and easy way to access the required FDA-approved proctored in-home antigen test prior to embarkation from the comfort of their own home. Inspired Diagnostics is a subsidiary of Inspire Health Alliance, a leader in best-in-class health services. Testing at home is safe, simple, and convenient. Purchasing in-home testing kits is simple. Please refer to Cruise Travel Requirements by Country for country specific requirements. All unvaccinated guests under the age of 12 will be required to bring proof of a negative NAAT test (i.e. PCR) result administered by a verified third party within three days prior to embarkation date. Failure to comply will result in denial of boarding. Additionally, unvaccinated guests under the age of 12 on sailings from or to a U.S. or Canada port will be subject to additional testing at embarkation and disembarkation administered and paid for by the cruise line, as part of the U.S Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Voluntary COVID-19 Program for Cruise Ships Operating in U.S. Waters. Other available pre-embarkation testing services: Additionally, the following services offer a verified third party or medically supervised at home testing: eMed or BioReference-Scarlett Concierge testing service – BioReference sends a trained Scarlet Health Professional to your home to collect your COVID-19 test specimen.
  13. Slooooowwww days waiting for this cruise. So, pretty much open on post topics. Anyway, mentioned I used to use a GoPro for live posting here at CC. That has since turned into a newly acquired iPhone 14 Pro Max. Looking for a case, since this thing was not cheap. I don’t want to skimp. But, am looking for something in leather with MagSafe charging capability, even a wallet type would be nice. I know, not asking for much. Any suggestions?
  14. Little bigger balcony and a bigger bathroom.
  15. Same....I wrap mine in cellophane tape...easy-peezy.
  16. I don't believe that's an NCL category. Must be some marketing term the online TA is using. Ask them what it is.
  17. I also have a GTY Club Balcony. Can't think of any of those locations being bad, plus it comes with all the perks. I know it will be chilly. But, I'm all about having a nightcap on the balcony. Also like having a.m. coffee out there. If it's 50º, I can. throw on a sweatshirt and be fine. I do like the bigger bathroom, too. Not that I take up a lot of space, I just like it more. $60? I'd jump on it. Even if it only means you'll be able to see NYC as we sail away, that by itself would be worth it to me. Let us know what you decide.
  18. If you want, sign up for the Meet and Greet. I think this is going to be a fun one with a lot of us CC-ers on board.
  19. All input is welcomed, here. Yeah....I'll send MSC a letter reminding them of their missed opportunities by not having a ship out of NYC. Actually, I think that's a great idea. Thanks for the "heads up". Was looking at Super Shuttle to EWR after I disembark. Already booked Super Shuttle from LGA to the pier on Embarkation Day. Thinking I'm in decent shape as my home bound flight departs at 2:00 p.m. Figuring I'm good to go. Haven't been on Breakaway since it was "refurbished". But, I'm imagining it's the same as the Getaway, which I sailed this past July. From what I understand, Canada doesn't require ArriveCAN any more. And, it's sounding like testing is no longer required, either. So, good on all fronts (although, I did schedule a proctored C19 test, which is non-refundable, but it was only $14).
  20. Ummmm......do you work for NCL? Can you elaborate what better perks you're getting with your PCC vs a TA? Can you tell the deals you got with your PCC that were better than a TA? Man, I do want to jump on that Balcony deal upgraded to the 2 Room Haven Suite. Can you give me more details so I can call NCL? I should be getting some really good deals since I'm Sapphire Latitudes and have sailed with NCL....A LOT!
  21. May as well beat this horse some more. Imagining some lady (GF, Wife, Daughter, Aunt, Neighbor, Concubine, etc) on a cruise ship, playing the ukulele in a public setting and I begin to wheeze. I don't even like Don Ho playing it, and h was supposed to be good at it (he's also dead). Or, the same playing a guitar and singing, imagining she's Sheryl Crow when in reality, she sounds more like Rosanne Roseannadanna. Agree with you OP....tell her to nix the Guitar and Uke. If she stays home, you're better off and will enjoy your vacation more.
  22. Well….I guess if they can’t even remember my name, I must not be too special to them. Got this email from MSC today. I don’t recall the perks to be all that good to begin with….and they did a status match, so I’m Diamond with them. According to MSC, I have to book and sail by December. But, their discounts are only valid if I book 6-12 months out. What’s the point? Dear , Did you know that your MSC Voyagers Club card is due to expire on 2022-12-31? If that happens, you will miss out on all the benefits you have earned by cruising with us in the past. But don't worry!
