  1. Thanks. Would be interested in a boat tour. I don't think CC cares if you post about an excursion.
  2. Every ticket would be a different cost dependent on where the guest is flying FROM! I can’t imagine NCL buying bulk tickets that would originate in every city with an airport!
  3. Different experiences. Know some guests who had reservations on both Frontier and Spirit. One worked out OK, one didn’t. Flights weren’t ideal with either. NCL knows where they are flying them to, but not from where. Might be tough to do bulk buys! But, really don’t know for sure!
  4. Concierge took my up there on a tour. But, we went via steps. If you are in the Haven, call the concierge line. They should be able to tell you definitively. Happy Sailing!
  5. Glad you enjoyed it! I “think” the stairs are the only way to 17. I took the Haven elevator and don’t recall it going to 17. However, that doesn’t mean other elevators wouldn’t take you there (that’s where the Vibe is).
  6. Cincinnati used to be a Delta Hub (which moved to Detroit when Delta bought Northwest). Delta still has a very strong presence in Cincinnati, but there are now discount airlines encroaching like Frontier, Allegiant, Breeze, etc. Those airlines are NOT known for their service, and are the cheapest in the area. My guess is NCL would book those since they're cheap. Odds are, I would be unhappy with any of them. Therefore, I know not to use NCL's "free air" offers.
  7. Hi Henry.....I think, as you say, Samsonite was looking for a quick way into the online business. eBags was the ticket. Had done business with eBags for a while. Not fancy but durable and no hassle if/when something went wrong. They just replaced it. To my knowledge they were still doing well when Samsonite bought them. Now? eBags is a little barren when it comes to inventory. And, it looks like they are selling their wares at fire sale prices. Looks like Samsonite took a good retailer (eBags) and turned them into a shell of their former self. It's been a while, but the last couple of bags the GF bought at a Samsonite store (at a local discount mall) were pretty shoddy. Used to make good stuff. Not so anymore. When I retired, my former company (AMD) gave me a bunch of swag. Some of it included the TravelPro Backpack that has been sitting in its box for a couple of years. It's heavy so I haven't used it, yet. It's crazy well made, though. So, time to make it earn its keep. Good to hear about Joy. Excited. Wing it? Probably. I can get public transport (which is quite good) to Tobacco Bay Beach or Horseshoe Bay. Wednesday night is the downtown Hamilton Street Fair. Aside from that, I'll discover by wandering around.
  8. Pic of the door was taken outside the Haven. If I hadn’t noticed a Haven guest coming out, I wouldn’t have known how to get in. Previous Havens on previous ships I had been in had placards clearly marked on doors to their entrances. Passion Fruit Mousse was indeed from Indulge. I’m sure you’ll love your cruise!
  9. regarding NCL air.... They do not have any more pull than you or I or a TA has. Use NCL because they're cheap. You'll get what you paid for, probably inconvenient flights, at inconvenient times. But, you'll get cheap flights and cheap service. As these things go, you want better flights you can directly interface with to (re)arrange on your own? It's going to cost more.
  10. Mine does the same. She'll send a check, or offer OBO for the same amount. I just prefer she discount my fare, which she does instead.
  11. Good advice from Gary and Treasure Hunter. Won't repeat those answers. I was on the Epic Mediterranean Cruise this past October. I ended up in the Haven 2BR Suite. Long story, but I got a "deal". Anyway, if you want to see the Haven, start at page 16 (you can skip over all the of the planning, flights and other gobbledygook) of my review. NCL did a GREAT job on the HAVEN Epic refurb.
  12. Agree....Lyster is EXCELLENT. Had him on my Prima cruise in February. He said he was trained by Adrian Bica. If you've ever had Adrian as your Concierge, you know why Lyster (or is it Lister?) is so good at his job. He told me he'd be bouncing back and forth between Encore and Prima, filling in for vacations.
  13. Thought I’d do a little research…. eBags is an online retailer of handbags, luggage, backpacks, laptop bags, and travel accessories that was founded in ***** Village, Colorado near Denver. Before being acquired by Samsonite in 2017, the main website, eBags.com, carried bags and accessories from hundreds of brands.Wikipedia Parent organizations: Samsonite, Samsonite LLC, eBags, Inc. Founders: Jon Nordmark, Peter Cobb Founded: 1998 Headquarters: ***** Village, CO I wonder if Samsonite is trying to sell out of eBags products and sell only their own brand? Hope not, as their backpacks and luggage aren’t pretty but sure are durable! I have a TravelPro backpack that I’ve had for a while as I got it before I retired. TravelPro is expensive but very durable and functional, also! Time to put that back into service!
  14. Little off topic, and I already have more backpacks than I know what to do with. But, I own this one, too. It is a great back pack for cruising....storing laptop, electronics, underwear, shoes, etc....all those things that you may or may not need, but glad you have when you need them. This is such a great price, I thought I'd share... https://www.ebags.com/backpacks/pro-slim-laptop-backpack/117775XXXX.html?dwvar_117775XXXX_color=Heathered Graphite&cgid=backpacks
  15. @Sugar Magnolia...absolutely beautiful pics. As long as I've been posting at CC, I never could figure out how to put spaces between my pics when I post. Can you help a poor, feeble fellow out? TIA!
  16. So very sorry for your loss. Condolences. But, I hope your daughter is able to join you. That would be a nice way to celebrate your wife's life as you could reminisce together on the cruise. As others have said, you're going to have to contact NCL anyway. I think you can change passengers (not certain, though). IIRC, only the original booking name needs to remain the same. It also depends on how far to you are from sailing.
  17. I agree. It’s reflected in Princesses’ fares! NCL shows the VAT charges as a line item. Some cruise lines just add it as part of their fares!
  18. Regarding fares.....this was over a year ago. But, NCL was selling out ships then, too. So, fares can be had. This one's a GTY. I have cruised a lot and for a long time. I have never heard of any ship, on any line, being oversold (like airlines). In other words, GTY cabin or not, there was a cabin assigned for every one who booked. 19. I Know. It's weather. I keep checking daily. But, who knows what it will be like in a couple of weeks? Fingers (and toes) crossed. I always prepare myself for rocky seas when in the Atlantic. But, so far-so good!
  20. I have "loose" plans. I know I'll spend some time at Half Moon. I know I'll hit the Street Fair on Wednesday night. I am trying to book a private tour of the area, but haven't got that locked down yet. It's been a while (a decade), but yes, I have been to Bermuda before. And, agree...given any Bahamas or Caribbean destination, I'd take Bermuda over all of them.

  22. Whew.....Sorry to hear of your flight troubles. Sounds like a comedy of errors, but mostly a United Airlines issue. I have my own opinions about United, but that's besides the point. While airlines have all been lacking in services while they try to stuff more and more passengers into their flights. Personal service/help from them is lacking, as you found out, to say the least. NCL....never booked through them. No matter how much money I'd save, it's just one more thing that can go wrong that I can't personally take care of. So, I book my own. No matter, all this is moot at this juncture. I've heard Viva is an amazing ship. And, I truly love sailing the Mediterranean itineraries. Hope everything gets sorted. I don't think anyone here can give you advice that would help your situation.
