  1. That's not right. Non-refundable OBC can definitely be used to book excursions online before you board.
  2. They got the photo wrong. How long will it before there's someone's towel, book and sunglasses holding a lounger? 😅
  3. Looks like they didn't get the memo on balconies being too small. This is the Deluxe Balcony. Mini-Suite a little better though. There's room for a foot stool. And of course the Cabana Mini-Suite is fine.
  4. Presentation said 21 decks. Looks like the same number of passenger decks as the Royal class. I count up to a Riviera deck under the Lido. Anybody see something different?
  5. I looked at this list yesterday morning and the Sapphire's 2023 voyages to Antarctica and South America were also listed as enhanced. Double checked just now and I get the same list with everything in 2023 now no longer listed. Saves us some trouble as we are on the January 4 Sapphire sailing out of Buenos Aires. We arrive four days before and would have had to find a test center in BA. Edit: Just read Alcairns post - yeah, watch this space. Losing the 2023 voyages like losing the Canada ones seems suspicious. Agree - watch this space!
  6. And you receive that Patter the night before... Do they put it on the MedallionClass app Journey View?
  7. Definitely inconsistent. Sent in a request on a Sunday and on Monday, two cruises had their credit. Didn't get any emails.
  8. OK it's not your cruise on the Grand Princess but if you ever find yourself in Palermo on the island of Sicily, there's a fabulous store dedicated to gluten-free goods. Don't remember the name but it's a short walk from where the ship docks. I'm sure Google will help too. We found it by accident. DW was sooooo happy! Edit: Found it!
  9. I believe things changed a little after Princess started requiring excursions to be paid in advance. The change allowed people to use the Shareholder credit for their excursions.
  10. If you're vaccinated you don't need a Covid test. They've dropped that as of today for sailings from the UK. Unless of course you're heading to Greece or on a "special" cruise. They're all described on the Princess web-site. Passport and proof of vaccination are all you need. We're leaving Southampton on October 7 and that's our list of docs.
  11. DW has celiac and therefore must be gluten-free, it's not a choice. While we haven't been on the Grand, we have sailed quite a few Princess ships and have navigated the gluten-free landscape. cr8tiv1 is correct regarding the MDR. They are quite good at taking care of you. Most dishes they serve can be made GF as long as they have the day's notice. If they can't, the HW will offer you an alternative. BTW, you will get to know the HW pretty well, it's fun! DW's experience with their bread is so-so. It's hard to make a good GF bread but muffins and such can be made to taste good, Buffet dining works a little different. Head into the buffet and ask for the "Chef du Parti" (or something like that). He or she will take you around and show you what's OK and what isn't. They're very good about this. If you like french fries, you have a treat coming at the on-deck grill. The fryer there is dedicated only to french fries, nothing else goes into that oil to contaminate it. Of course things can change so always double check. That's the place to get your fries. Don't trust Room Service in that regard (my opinion). You probably already know, if they aren't sure, run!
  12. I always blame the Aussies who were on the previous cruise... 😉
  13. I have successfully used a similar format to this. People should note that you can also request credit for multiple bookings with a single email. Separate emails are not required. Just provide all the information for each booking and make it clear it's for multiple bookings.
  14. You can purchase Princess beds online at https://princessluxurybed.com/ We have the king-size including all the pillows, sheets, comforter and so on. It's wonderful. It doesn't rock you to sleep but it's the same bed!
  15. We sailed the Royal in early June. Our friends who tested positive before traveling to the US (the test requirement to fly back to the US was still in effect) were bused by Princess from Vancouver to Seattle. There they stayed only five days in a hotel. Word was the Fairmont was one you shouldn't stay in as though it was nice, it was more like a prison camp. You couldn't even order in food from outside vendors. After one day there our friends changed to a Marriott property which was much more reasonable.
  16. It's exactly what it sounds like to you. I know it's kind of hard to believe. ðŸĪŠ
  17. I believe it's kind of the reverse. Each Medallion already has a unique code which they read and then associate with your account.
  18. The customization is actually just a sticker. It can be printed at the port. All they have to do is make and apply the sticker and then code the ship's software with the unique ID of the new Medallion so it's associated with you. Very fast. It can be done at the port and on the ship.
  19. Just a thought: Find out if there's a missed appointment charge. If not, keep the noon appointment and book another one later. Cancel one or the other depending on when you actually board.
  20. Grrr ... debark tours for our South America cruise are available in Buenos Aires this coming February, for those with departures after 9 PM. Our flight departs at 8:55 PM... ðŸ˜Ģ
  21. You beat me. Was just looking at Princess' PDF file with the benefits. The 10% as you say is in the Shops at Princess, it's not applicable to anything already discounted and there's no mention of the purchase having to be over $100. captains-circle-loyalty-benefits-2.pdf
  22. If it doesn't show online there is a chance it will show up on the ship.
  23. Yes, I always check both as well and have seen the same thing with Princess lagging the airlines at times.
