  1. That's kinda what I'm thinking. Not just a stray bullet but it seems like these folks may not be the best shots. So, yeah, keep the cruise ships out of there. And please educate me. Do the merchant ships have to go through that area? Thanks.
  2. Any day when I learn something new is a good day. So I'm game. Thanks.
  3. Wow. Thanks. I'm 76 and think I'm relatively competent on the internet. But honestly I don't know even what an "app" does and no idea if I already have one/any.
  4. And thanks for listening. I hope your trip is FANTASTIC and that you'll give us reports. Bon voyage.
  5. I worked for a large intl airline back in the 80s and "pax" was it. I also don't see what the big deal is. Has OP returned here?
  6. That's insane. When we travel we're making all manner of plans way before 45 days. And do they say why? And if there's a problem, you can bet the cruise line won't be involved. I'm on a site of a particular escorted land tour company. While one can book air through them it seems fraught with issues/problems. The only time we considered it - and the company gave us the flight info before booking - we were going in totally unacceptable ways. So we said nope and booked our own.
  7. Why is that? Asking sincerely.
  8. And considering all the parties involved, I anticipate it lasting for a long, long time. Decades?
  9. I hope in big bold letters or something that all passengers are notified and can't say they weren't notified.
  10. Don't most strollers - I assume you mean for small kids - fold up and could easily be in a cabin? Just asking.
  11. Daddy did it but that was back in the 50s!
  12. I wonder if anyone asked them "what would be a fair alternative?" Also, I anyway, as a young adult lived in an apt complex with a pool. I can't remembere if they even had "chairs" but we put our towels down on the concrete. Going to the beach, the same (but not concrete!) And I suppose that no one knows that the sun is a vicious enemy. And that suntans look awful, making one look older than they are. Preaching over.
  13. Same here. I don't even own any dresses any longer. Bob hasn't worn his tuxedo in easily 20 years. We were hopeful when our daughters got married, but nope, they wore light colored suits. Can't over dress the groom(s). And I enjoy seeing others also.
  14. LOL. I thought I was the top googler but you're the one.
  15. We had a bag done a few years ago and they came back kinda 'dull' looking, not bright. But I'm called "The Laundry Queen." I had no problem DIYing it.
  16. As others have said, for those who have these problems, I'd sure not cruise anymore.
  17. Maybe I can. Not someone who keeps a low profile.
  18. Not for those who see the glass half empty.
  19. Do you mean direct or nonstop? Different things. Direct means a stop but you don't change planes.
  20. I haven't been to Uruguay but I can assure you that there are scores, probably hundreds of places that you can't fly out of.
  21. That's where I disagree with you. Now you have even more to get refunded. And I think a lot more hoops to jump through. Flights - and hoping your next port has any, hotels, meals, etc.
  22. Brilliant post and I almost totally agree 🙂 I'm one of those Left Coast tree-huggers 🙂
  23. That train from Oslo to Bergen is supposed to be incredible and that was just one part of a trip when covid raised its ugly. And we LOVE Hurtigruten and have done that cruise on their now retired ship the Lofoten, a 100 pax ship! You'll love it I'm sure. BTW, years ago we did a Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Jasper, coach to Banff and back to Vancouver. So wonderful. Have great trips. Cat
