  1. I have two booking numbers and two different dates for booking specialties.
  2. I could LIVE in Barcelona! And to stay on a ship - any ship - in BARCELONA???? Judge not...but for heaven's sake.
  3. That's funny. I realized that and had intended to come back. Thanks, Harters.
  4. I love good food and I love Google. So I can find places well in advance of traveling. One was a place in Hue, Vietnam, that Bourdain said had the best soup in the world.
  5. Great report and thanks. But you should know that you could have brought on pretty much as much beer, wine and liquor. Despite what their policy says they treat us like grownups and the skies the limit!
  6. It seems like your saying it's not necessarily weather or other uncontrollable things.
  7. In the cooking world I was taught that Rome leaned more to the North than the South. Based on agriculture. I can't imagine ANY milk product in carbonara. There are a gazillion variations but I've never seen cream.
  8. I believe there was someone before me.
  9. I guess it was too late to delete. No shush.
  10. Just deleted. Still curious though 🙂
  11. Do you like all your meals in the GDR? If you do, I'm curious why.
  12. We rarely had lunch on board on port days. Too many food adventures for on shore.
  13. To each their own but every 'plus' you mention would be a minus to me. And, yes, I'm an old coot.
  14. Totally. 100% agree. Maybe we just pretend they're nice and dress accordingly. 🙂
  15. Thanks. Very, very similar and for this particular recipe that's not surprising. And definitely no cream.
  16. Can't open this. Marcella Hazan's is my only recipe for this. I make it regularly.
  17. Well, if you consider some of Oceania's restaurants "nice," then it certainly is. If you don't consider them "nice," then you are correct and I apologize.
  18. It has to do with the fact that even though he worked in the biz he never did nor does consider them appropriate for a nice restaurant...or opera...or play....
  19. Sorry. I never saw that. And, honestly, my husband who worked for Levi Strauss for almost 25 years, would never wear jeans to a nice restaurant. To each their own.
  20. Sorry. Can't remember if it was pre or post covid. But not terribly long ago. (I honestly don't understand the issue. A pair of Docker-style pants take up almost no room in luggage.)
  21. Yup. We had a car and drove to a wonderful place overlooking the volcano. Just lovely but totally "been there, done that."
  22. I don't think so. I saw someone dressed as you describe who was turned away.
  23. I used to be on a food site and that was their consensus . Is Rome considered southern or northern Italy? Although Rome is in central Italy, many refer to it as the line between southern and northern Italy. Most consider it to be part of the north.Jan 9, 2021 Northern vs. southern Italy: how to pick your ideal Italian ... 24. I didn't mean literally chicken fingers but what about chicken breast, a small steak, some spaghetti and meatballs. And what about asking ahead if the kitchen can accommodate such a simple request? Or tell her what it's going to be like and maybe she'll stay home. If not perhaps ask her if she could refrain from negative comments?
  25. I certainly don't know about other lines but the one we're currently using I have googled "*** sample menu" and found what I was looking for.
