    We're going to be looking at those for sure. We're definitely destination oriented and sea days are pretty boring to us. Also cruises that make stops at beachy places. No interest there. When we had our place in Rio we finally stopped even taking bathing suits. We never went in the water. Sat on the great sidewalk under an umbrella and had super food and drinks.

    It was the word "natively". I was thinking you meant outside where you live perhaps. I've never thought of other countries in the "native" way. You might want to check out Western Europe where it seems almost everyone speaks English. And poor you. I can't imagine traveling and not eating with the locals. Hopefully they'll come up with a cure.

    Oops, didn't read this before posting about experiences on land. So are you saying that you don't go out to eat?

    Just after 3PM here so maybe a nap before cooking dinner (Roasted Pork Belly - a no-no). No nappy.

    I was in Barcelona where Catalan is frequently spoken. I speak a little Spanish but no Catalan. I was looking for a particular place and approached a young man and asked "Habla Ingles?" He replied "How may I help you?" A fun travel memory.

    Absolutely. And English is spoken, better than most Americans speak other languages, pretty regularly. Especially young people.

    The case I was possibly going to be seated for had a doctor's appointment that I had scheduled months in advance. A pretty important one. The judge said she could halt the trial that day !!! But we're on the Left Coast LOL.

    These two have such very, very specific likes that it's pretty impossible. One, for instance, like to rock climb, go off the grid, kayak down a river with the three of them. LOL

    That's what we like to do. 'Google is my friend.' I can find places anywhere. Even found the "best soup in the world" according to Bourdain in Hue, Vietnam. LOL Side streets are also a great friend 🙂

    If I truly need to be exempted for a real reason I wouldn't want it to be permanent. My husband and I have each served and when you look around it's really not a "jury of your peers." Too many people who couldn't get out of it.

    Oh, the grands get a gift (just one) and honestly we kinda followed our unspoken suggestion from our daughters. We give them small gifts and the girls give "Santa" and larger gifts. Let them get the glory 🙂
