  1. I just booked E-115 on the Regal Princess for the 22 day fall crossing cruise September 1, 2017. The description shows this cabin to be a deluxe balcony at 303 sq. feet - quite a lot larger than the standard deluxe balcony at 233 sq. feet. It is not obstructed and other than being very far forward I can't see the disadvantage. But it seems like there must be a "catch" to account for the much larger size shown. Has anyone cruised in one of these DF staterooms? It was also less expensive than the mid-aft deluxe balcony I was also considering. Any help would be appreciated!

Princess web site shows E-115 as 233 sq. ft.

  2. I never said a word since it was a T shirts & Polo and socks another time. I just learned my lesson & quit using "washing"....only "cleaning" from now on for everything.

The wife also once sent in a sequined shirt & when returned had 1/3 of the sequins removed.

Sometimes even free isn't worth it. ;)

We too have had problems with shrinking when dry cleaning only was requested and also sequin tops. Like you I just don't send those items anymore. Also, was told by room steward that dry cleaning was no longer available which makes me think that the shrinkage is because of being tossed in the washer and dryer as I have never had anything I ever sent to a dry cleaner at home shrink. But it's still a great perk and as others mentioned you soon discover what to put into the laundry and what not to send.

However' date=' a staff member working at Guest Services told me that they will be opening up the midship stairs when the ship goes in for dry dock. I don't know when that is, or if it's even true but I am hoping. I thought I'd pass along that news and you can take it with a grain of salt, or take it to the bank - your choice :D[/quote]

We were on the Royal Princess April 2 for a 10 day cruise and we too were told that when she goes in for dry dock they are going to open midship stairs. Hopefully it will happen. Ever since our first cruise on the Royal and Regal we always choose a room either forward or aft so we know we are near the stairs.

  4. We have also been trying for two days to sign in but the page is almost impossible to read. Hope it get's cleared up soon. Will keep trying to refresh to see if it helps.

Followed the advise to use the refresh button and everything cleared up instantly. Thanks for posting that information. Problem solved.

  5. We just got off the Emerald, C714. Had no hot water the first night and no cold the second morning. We called and the water was fixed, although the cold never did get terribly cold.

We also complained about the A/C--it never really got cold in the cabin. No one came by that we know of, and over the 8 days it was consistently warm.

I did not like the new mattress (too soft for my taste), and it would have been nice to have the new linens. Our sheets were spotted and stained.

Shows were middling--the comedian was terrible and the "vocalist" emptied a full Princess Theater in his 45 minutes. ;)

Having said that to provide information to those sailing in the future, we did enjoy ourselves overall. This itinerary was great (8 days, 4 at sea, the ABC islands), the food was good to great, and the holiday spirit was alive and well on the ship.

We too just returned from 13 nights on the Emerald. Our A/C did work fine on Riviera Deck however for the first 24 hours we had no hot water it was finally fixed after we called. Did not call when first on board because an announcement had been made that water line was being worked on. Thought they would correct the problem Agree cold water was not really available we just used our bottled water from our mini bar. I also did not like the mattress, if they were new they were way too soft and not to my comfort. Also agree about the bedding sheets ours were also old and stained.

Food this time for our taste was just okay nothing special. Buffet was not that great very crowded. Will be sailing on her again in February, just hope all the kinks are worked out.

  6. We always keep the auto tip in place, but, like to tip something extra to certain people. So, what we do at the end of the cruise is place cash in an envelope we seal it place our names and cabin number on it and we specifically hand it to the person we want the extra to go to and tell them this is extra for them but in case they have to turn it in to there supervisor for checking everything is already written by us on the envelope. Hopefully they get it back.

  7. We have had several cruises with Princess that have had incorrect charges on our bill. So now, we get a print out every single night so that we can check on everything. Don't enjoy waiting on the lines when the machines are not working but because of past problems we just find it worth our time. Hope you can get your situation taken care of. We don't leave the ship without checking that final bill.

  8. My DH and I have booked many inside rooms and have never had a problem with space. We enjoy using the money saved for other on board activities. We do however agree with the others who posted your best bet is to have the room set up as two separate beds instead of the queen as it does seem to give you slightly more room for moving around.

Hope you have a great cruise.
  9. I think we all have a different idea of what a vacation or cruise means. But I agree, I do not want to sit in my room. For me, I go for total relaxation. I want nothing more than to sit on my balcony and listen to the sound of the ship moving through the ocean, lol. It's peaceful and quiet. Usually.

Amen to that. We love to listen to the sound of the ocean and just relax. That is what a vacation is all about.
