1. With the mini suite you each get a complimentary glass of champagne at the sail away. The room is larger and has 2 televisions, plus a love seat that opens into a pull out bed. We did not like the bathtub as we prefer walk in showers. I suggest go for the balcony and use the extra money for a special anniversary dinner.

    Happy Cruising

  2. Thanks for the replies...yes we had heard there might be something special., so we did think about what we would book for it. ...we have a 26 day booked in September for our 50th (although technically it's a 11 and 15 day b2b, but booked as one cruise) We won't expect much, but if something special happens, we'll be very happy and appreciative. The only thing we were told by some fellow passengers at a MTL was not to waste your 50th on a 7 day cruise!! ;)

On our 50th cruise we received champagne, flowers, and chocolate covered strawberries in our room on first day. Never rec'd anything after that, no bridge tour, no pin, no extra goodies. Breakfast at Sabatini's is on your 75th cruise but who knows that could change.

  3. Something must have changed in the last couple of years because I did get breakfast at Sabatini's on my 50th cruise on the Sapphire about three years ago. I was back on the Sapphire last year for my 75th cruise. It was a four day short cruise that I should never have booked, and breakfast at Sabatini's was never mentioned. Everything else -- champagne, flowers, and strawberries -- was the same on both cruises. Also the bridge tour.

When I stopped at the CC Host desk to thank them for the flowers etc. I was told that breakfast at Sabatini's was no longer offered for your 50th cruise celebration. Also, we were not invited to a tour of the bridge so not sure if they still offer that.

  4. I will never understand why the CC hosts' hands are so tied when it comes to these simple things. We were doing several B2B logical cruises in a row when we hit our 50th cruise. Our cruise cards were always hopelessly out of date when it came to our cruise count, and because of that, we never had an "official" 50th cruise...it was on our 52nd cruise that our cruise card finally read 49 previous cruises. Well, you would not believe what our CC host went through to get Santa Clarita to approve us celebrating our 50th cruise on our 52nd cruise. Then, they didn't want to give us the bump up to $100 CC OBC on the same cruise, saying it couldn't be both our 50th and our 52nd and implying we were trying to get away with something sinister. (We finally won that battle, too. It took waayyy too much time out of our cruise but by that time it had become a matter of principle.)

I think we might have the same issue with our 75th, but, alas, no additional OBC to muddy the waters.

We also had a similar situation since we were doing b2b cruises. Cruise card only showed 48 cruises and we were already at 50. Before we left the ship for home we made sure that the CC Host knew that we already were on our 50th cruise and were expecting our milestone to be celebrated on our next Princess cruise since it had not been done on our 50th. They did give us the flowers, strawberries and champagne on the 51st cruise. It's too bad that with the b2b cruises the numbers do not update until at least 24 hours later.

  5. I did a fax on Monday for my October 27 cruise and it still has not been posted. So I decided to fax again on Thursday morning and still nothing posted.

So it's not up to date for all of us or I'm just unlucky.

  6. Can you post a link please? I am doing a search and I am not finding a site that works...I keep getting errors and want to be sure I am reserving with the correct Park n Go for cruise departures out of Fort Lauderdale.

    Thank you,

    Patty

    Hi Patty:

Parkngo is excellent we have used them on several occassions. Very fast service and they were waiting at the port when we left the ship. There official web site is http://www.bookparkngo.com

  7.
You are staying at Hyatt Place. The easiest boat tour to get to from that location would be to go a mile east on 17th St to the water taxi stop at the Hilton Marina. Most of the big houses are on the New River and it will go there. There is usually a talking guide on the boat. You could walk at least one way. Adults are $22 for an all day pass and you can hop on and off and buy tickets on board. This is a convenient way to tour because it goes all day. The round trip can take a few hours. Another recommended tour is on Carrie B. You have to go downtown to get on board. http://www.carriebcruises.com/

Taxi to Port Everglades from Hyatt Place will be $10-15, metered, per taxi.
Thank you so much for that fast reply. I really appreciate the information. The water taxi is the best idea. We will do the cab to the port from the hotel, but will ask for the meter the last time we took a cab from the terminal back to the hotel the taxi did not run the meter because of the short ride and I feel I was over charged.
  8. Hi:

We will be cruising on the Ruby Princess on April 07 and plan on arriving in Fort Lauderdale early Sunday morning as we would like to do a boat tour of the canals and expensive homes of Fort Lauderdale. Can anyone recommend a particular boat tour that we could take to do this?

Also we will be staying at the Hyatt Convention Center hotel on 10th Street can anyone tell me what the taxi fare would be from the hotel to the pier the day our ship would depart?

    Any information is appreciated.
    Thank you
