  1. @CruiserN1, have gone out with H&M a few times in the past, they were OK, we prefer Jayleen. Reason I am asking Coral is because if it is the same vendor that we are using in June, I am curious to hear more about them.
  2. @Coral, What was the name of the whale watching company in Juneau that you used? Just curious as one of my Alaska trips is in June (we booked this late) and our favorite whale watching vendor (Jayleen's Alaska) was already booked so we decided to go with a company that someone had mentioned on CC.
  3. My big box TA has been able to book regular reservations with Princess as well as call the casino department to book a cruise for me if I have an offer.
  4. Did you have your big box store book this cruise through the casino department? If not, how did you get the $200 casino credit? I usually have to do that if I want the casino credit.
  5. @Coral I am so sorry, I know how much you were looking forward to the trip. Is Allen Marine's Tracy Arm tour available from your excursion list???
  6. @Coral, looks like I better put a few pieces of lighter clothing in my suitcase for our upcoming trips. Have a fabulous time on Adventure Bound, I know it is one of your favorite excursions. Looking forward to seeing all the beautiful blue bergs.
  7. @Coral, another picture-perfect day for you. Nice that you were able to go on your excursion with some familiar faces from your CC group. Where are you tomorrow? In looking at our itinerary, it is a little different from yours. Are you in Juneau with Adventure Bound?
  8. @Coral, thanks for letting me know about the arrival and gondola situation. Teresa had told me that we would be using the far dock so I figured we would be using the gondola --- we will be there when the Quantum is in town. I always wondered how ISP would be when a big ship is in the same time as us, I guess I will find out.
  9. @Coral, thanks for the pictures, I appreciate it. A couple of questions for you: What was your port times for today? What time was your whale watching tour? and What time was your bear watching tour? Did you feel rushed to get from one tour to another? Thanks.
  10. @Coral -- So glad to hear you had a great time with Glacier Wind. We have been going with them for years; Shawn and Teresa are like family to us. We have never gone out with Casey (their son) but will be doing so in July so we are looking forward to that experience. Looking forward to hearing all about your bear excursion when you get the chance. Once again, the good weather is following you -- yeah!
  11. We use a TA -- Fast and reliable service. OBC in the form of a gift card and best yet, if we use their preferred travel insurance company we get great coverage at a decent price. Never had a problem and we have been using them since 2009.
  12. We did not do round-trip Princess transfers (Seattle-Vancouver-Seattle), we only did Vancouver-Seattle transfers. We had our travel agent book our transfers directly with Princess when we made our cruise reservations. On disembarkation day, we retrieved our luggage and took it over to the transfer bus we were assigned to. Our bus consisted of a mix of Princess as well as Holland America passengers. Once the bus was full, we left the terminal and our driver explained the journey. He mentioned that we would be stopping at the border processing center and it would be determined at that time if we could be processed right away or we would have to wait due to other busses having priority. Fortunately, we were able to get off the bus and go through processing rather quickly. The bus trip for us was long as we encountered delays on the road due to freeway construction and there was also an accident. Fortunately for us, we were not flying out the same day or we would have missed our afternoon flight. The bus experience is a "one and one" for us. Hope you find an option that works for you.
  13. Would love to see this presentation. Our whale watching vendor in Juneau (Jayleen's Alaska) is a boat captain and goes to Hawaii for seminars. I am going to mention this to her and see if she is part of this organization.
  14. Pricing sounds very reasonable and more personal than a crowded bus. Think we might be leaning more towards this type of excursion. We did the ship excursion once and saw very little wildlife (just a raft of otters and one whale tale off in the distance). Glad the people had a good time on their boat excursion. I have been tracking the weather and it looks as though Alaska is seeing some warmer spots this year. Guess I need to throw in a few light-weight tops into the suitcase. Really, how long does it take to decide if your power bar is suitable for use on the ship? I think that should be "a mention" on your after-cruise survey.
  15. @Coral, thanks for the pictures. Good weather and a nice tour, hope we are that lucky.
  16. @Coral, thanks for the tour information and link. Did you feel you had enough time at the Fortress of the Bears and the Raptor Center? Cost? How was line to get the bus into town --- long? For our last two visits, we had one long line and one shorter line. Thanks.
  17. Have never heard of this company. If you get the opportunity, would you come back to this thread and let us know how things went on the excursion -- I would appreciate it.
  18. Is there any sort of outlet to use for a hair dryer or curling iron? Is the cabin hair dryer a wall mount?
  19. Good grief. By the time a decision is made by Security, you will be half way through your cruise. I hope someone has an answer for you today.
  20. If interested in whale watching, Glacier Wind Charters is wonderful. We have gone out with them numerous times.
  21. @Coral, glad to hear you had a smooth embarkation --- I had heard horror stories about previous ones. I'm sorry to hear about your power strip. Do you think it has anything to do with the fact that the ship is older? Hope you get it back tomorrow. Your cabin looks very nice, thanks for letting me know about the removable shower head. Hopefully, mine will be there when we board. Really appreciate all your efforts with posting your pictures and comments. You are very kind to do that.
  22. @Coral. Whistler was beautiful and it appears the good weather has followed you to Vancouver. Keeping fingers crossed that it continues throughout your cruise. Happy embarkation day tomorrow. I am jealous!
  23. Are you quoting days or cruises?
