  1. Thanks, any idea of the number for this? I can only find an email. We're wondering if it's possible to have them moved onto a cruise that leaves in 20 days time on the same itinerary and ship.
  2. Thanks for the replies all, just managed to get some sleep but back now. Fully appreciate this isn't really Celebrity's issue but was quite surprised to hear them say we had to speak via a travel agent given the circumstances. I'll try the executive office later. It appears the main issue is that neither Egypt or Israel (two main destinations) take emergency passports for entry or transit, only exit, so I think that may be the end of their dream trip. They will be heading to the British Embassy this morning regardless to see what they advise. Apex leaves.on Tuesday so they have today to sort it. The local police weren't particularly helpful by the sounds of it. On leaving stuff in hotels. Seems they put cash in the safe but sadly forgot about the passports which surprises me as they're normally very diligent about this kind of thing. They had only just arrived in Athens so I guess the excitement maybe played a role. Lesson for all of us I guess.
  3. Thanks, it seems the issue is that both Israel and Egypt do not accept emergency travel docs for entry or transit, only exit. The cruise is basically overnighting in both countries and the only other stop is Turkey.
  4. Yeah they called an out of hours emergency line, but they said it's unlikely a cruise line will take a temporary travel document. They are so upset, in a strange country and not much I can do to help 😞
  5. Sadly I just learnt that my parents have both had their passports stolen from their hotel room whilst in Athens. They are obviously distraught as due to get on Celebrity Apex on Tuesday for a once in a lifetime trip to Egypt, Israel and Turkey. They've spoke to an emergency embassy number who advised that a temporary travel document won't be accepted on a cruise. Celebrity via the phone are refusing to help as it was booked via a travel agent who are closed until tomorrow. Any advice..? do they just have to give up and come home?
  6. I recently took my parents and was nervous about this from the other side, but we had a great time and I was pleased to see them enjoying things like the (pretty tame) drag show, bingo, etc. Nothing was crude or particularly inappropriate.
  7. Pretty sure there would be nothing stopping a US based person booking via a UK travel agent, but don't see anyone rushing to do that! Wonder why?
  8. I'm UK based and called earlier to ask if the labour day sale prices could be applied to our booking, they said no as wasn't available to UK market. We've had public holidays here last weekend and back in May with no sales. Feels a little bitter that I have to pay 40% more for an excursion just because of where I live, but it's the same product delivered in the same location presumably at the same cost.
  9. For anyone in the UK where the sale doesn't seem to be showing on the site/app, have you tried calling to see if they would apply it paying in dollars? I assume not but thought I'd ask!
  10. Nothing showing on the UK site 😞
  11. There may be others of course, but at what price? I've never even sailed Celebrity but already after reading all these posts I'd happily pay a little more for Virgin Voyages (though they are actually often cheaper) where there is no upcharge restaurants, WiFi/gratuities included, no nickle and diming whilst also being high quality.
  12. Eugh yeah I hated this about Royal also... I guess there's something psychological to it though. I can't help being British and mildly anti-social!
  13. Great to hear! 😁 I'm looking forward to that concept too. We just did Virgin Voyages and they had many smaller restaurants that you could book into also.
  14. Thanks, we are usually 6pm diners so hopefully that'll be ok! 😁
  15. Oh my. I'm about to go on my first Celebrity cruise and this is def not what I was expecting when I booked 😳. What a way to cheapen what I thought of as a luxury brand.
  16. Ah thank you. I just changed my dining from early to anytime as it's a port intensive cruise with some late returns. I can see there are no slots left really so hopefully we can do walk in or pre-book onboard. Was it possible to get a table for 2 as a walk in?
  17. Hi, I'm new to Celebrity and will be on Apex in October (mainly sailed Royal and more recently Virgin Voyages). I'm down as "Select Dining Early" which I understand means we will be allocated a restaurant/table in one spot for the 10 days but can change to another on request. How does this work in practice if you want to try a new spot? Can I do it on the app or do I have to ask in the restaurant? We'd have a strong preference for a table for 2 - how likely is that? On Royal I've usually been able to request in advance and always been successful over 20 odd cruises. Appreciate this is probably a common question but I could only find responses from quite a few years ago. Thanks in advance!

  19. Try Virgin Voyages. I'm a D+ in my mid 30s and really can't see myself going back to Royal, it's a shame as I thought I was a 'lifer'. But since the cutbacks/charges and constant adding of cabins leading to overcrowding I'd be embarrassed to recommend RC to friends - which is all I was doing a few years back! Virgin, however, is next level, at reasonable prices when you consider what's included and the quality. Appreciate they are new so probably trying to impress but it's quite amazing. Trying Celebrity for the first time in Oct too so will see what that's like!
  20. Just in case this happens to anyone else... I contacted them via the online chat and they re-added the DBE.
  21. I made some dinner reservations this morning for myself and my parents on a separate reservation. After that my Deep Blue Extras have disappeared from the Add Ons section and have been replaced with this 'Celebrate Together'. Reading up this looks like you get a free bottle of wine for being the organiser, which is nice, but a little worried as to why the Deep Blue Perks and $100 Bonus Bar Tab have disappeared... Anyone else had this? TIA
  22. Agree with many of the sentiments expressed by the OP. Did a Norway cruise on Anthem and left feeling quite disappointed, particularly Royal's drink price / package situation. Tried Virgin Voyages out of Barcelona a few weeks back and oh my god - reminded me of the glory days, so much fun, outstanding quality and a real passenger focus. I think I'll find it hard to go back despite being D+.
  23. Thank you, that sounds great! Do you book/pay before you board or is it one that you book when on the ship's WiFi?
  24. So I'm booked for Resilient Lady in August and was wondering if anyone has experienced their new dinner show Another Rose, that I believe costs $50. Questions I have are - what's included? - was the food as good as the restaurants? - was it worth it!?
