  1. Seems odd Holland America were able to manage it. Any updates from the ship as to why they couldn't?
  2. Hi all, My parents are on Anthem today and have been messaging me quite disappointed as apparently the walkway at Geirainger, Norway (a trip highlight) is broken, so the ship couldn't dock. They sat waiting for a few hours waiting for tender boats but then they cancelled that too and now the ship is leaving... No offer of explanation or replacement/compensation, just an apology. Anyone onboard know what's going on?
  3. Chances are there will be a sale at some point, but never guaranteed and the general direction has been prices going up. If you plan to buy it and are happy at this price then the best thing you can do is go ahead - you don't loose out then.
  4. Sadly you have to pay now, but can cancel and refund whenever if it goes down and you want to rebook.
  5. I'm a long term D+ Royal Cruiser (also UK based) and refuse to pay the £80+ a day. Given the high fares and constant upcharging am Sailing Virgin Voyages this year instead with a free $600 Bar Tab and lower overall fare. Looking forward to breaking free from my 'loyalty' and trying something new.
  6. The Irresistible Med - Valiant Lady 21-28 May, 2023 • 7 nights https://virg.in/JrRf
  7. Seems it's available to book via the planner rather than having to call.
  8. Seems the new price is £60/day. Quite an increase but cheaper than the planner I guess?
  9. Im a D+ and never really used the concierge lounge, what was I missing out on?
  10. I've done this a couple of times and they have always setup smaller tables and accomdated for group size. Totally agree with you around the need to decompress, as an introvert I would refuse the MDR if placed on a giant table.
  11. Yes, I called my travel agent and they had it applied to my reservation and issued a new invoice showing the package.
  12. My understanding is that you can only order 1 drink at a time per card.
  13. Great news, will actually make me reconsider taking a RC cruise in Europe next year! With the dollar being so strong it was making prices here astronomical and completely out of whack with what other lines are charging.
  14. Still shows for our Oasis November 2022. I'm a D+ and sailed with them for the last 15 years, but booked my first non Royal cruise for 2023 (albeit celebrity, but with package included at a good price). RC's Europe fares are high and these crazy prices for add-ons for a captive market is plain profiteering. They should re-introduce a basic beer/wine package.
  15. Ah sorry, I thought you meant that you wait until you board before buying the thermal suite package, rather than buying online beforehand. I get what you mean now! 🙂
  16. Am looking at booking an Infinite Veranda on Apex for 3 adults. The cabin has an icon indicating a "double sofa bed". Is this different to the trundle bed? I've searched around and can't seem to find any specific information as to what the double sofa bed is. Thanks!
  17. Any more in them getting ride of Elevate and Indulge? I was about to book the latter but not sure if I should wait now?
  18. I would also be interested to know what a 10 day pass on Apex is likely to cost. Considering a trip on her in October 2023.
  19. I was referring to 2022 sailings, they may offer the same next year. The below says March but they have extended it for the full season.
  20. I've gone $60. Most European cruise lines charge about £40 ($55-60), and infact that is what Royal chose to offer for all Med cruises in 2022. Clearly they can make it work at that price, beyond is just profiteering amongst a captive market.
  21. Thank you, those seem like good comparisons. I'll give the video a watch now ☺️
