  1. I can't advise about air travel and luggage tags, but those tags are a gripe with me.

Most definitely a first world problem, but it annoys me.

Spent a gazillion dollars on a grill cabin and we have to print our own, paper tags?

Bring a stapler? tape? ugh. And we shouldn't be forced to track down and buy the little holders!

Even the most mundane of cruise lines, give you actual plastic tags, usually with your name and cabin number!

Yeah, I know, cost cutting, but it annoys me and now I'm done with my rant.....(giggle!)

  2. If Tasha had told us what Pacific View has so clearly outlined, half of this thread wouldn't have been necessary. All I wanted to know was what went so wrong. Now I understand, thanks to PV.

I'm very sorry that things went fluey at the beginning  of the cruise, but "stuff" happens. I would've been upset too, but once onboard, it's either make yourself totally miserable, or start a fresh and enjoy. It's your cruise, why make a mess of it?

  3. In the best of all possible worlds, I'd like to think that Regent might hang on to the Navigator as it's "expedition" ship. Since the powers that be don't seem to be moving towards construction of such a ship, might the Navigator be able to step up to the challenge? Maybe with a few tweeks, she could fit the bill? As far as we're personally concerned, the Navigator has always gotten the best and most interesting itineraries.

  4. Tasha,

Please tell us what happened that pushed you to comment in such a negative way.

We'd like to know exactly what the source of your dissatisfaction  was, so anyone who reads CC, will know and can plan accordingly.

When you post something so negatively, you need to back up your claim with some facts...

  5. I love seeing kilts, national dress (no matter from where!) and other garb that folks put together for formal nights. One of the most memorable were some Japanese folks who did the full on kimonos and men with those fabulous wide pants, sashes, etc. Another along the same line, but totally different was a gentleman for the west who wore a black suit, fabulous "formal" boots, a bolo tie with a chunk of turquoise that would choke his horse and a stunning black stetson. He looked terrific!

So, please bring and wear your kilt!

  6. I totally agree with all of the above posters who say "go for it"....it's your vacation and you should do what you'd like. A martini at tea would hardly be the strangest thing I've seen on Cunard!

Don't get me started on that thought......giggle!

  7. I quite enjoyed the short read by Alan Cumming.....and I didn't mind his coat one bit.

I think Cunard is probably the only line that I know of that has "miles" of comments on dress.  It's one of the things that makes people watching such fun!

And as far as the plaid coat, we've seen it all.....The fellow with the rumbled jacket and wrinkled tie, attending formal night activities as well as the (much) older lady in tiarra and sparkly shoes.

As long as it fits (at least sort of...) the dress for the evening, who am I to throw stones.....

We were in the Mandarin Oriental for our November cruise, however it was being demolished early this year, to make way for a new apartment complex. Other passengers were located at the Intercontinental.

We just stayed at the Mandarin in early Feb. this year. Fabulous hotel....and not demolished!
