  1. I'm envious of all of you Costco folks....doesn't help us at all, out here in the boonies.

I'll be overjoyed if I can get my Clicquot at 69 a bottle on the ship....that's only a little over what I'd pay

for a good price in a liquor store!

Now an Idea for the Regent's folks.....how 'bout making Clicquot spits available  in their bars? Surcharge wouldn't be a problem.

Indeed.  It's getting hard to find in a restaurant for under $100.  It's like $48 at Costco now.

    The non-vintage, of course.

Aw phooey! Unfortunately we don’t have a Costco near us. To get in a liquor store, a good price would be anything under 60. There are occasional sales, but not often.

Pleased about the Regent price. Hope it’s still in effect in September!

In December (seems forever ago), we often purchased a bottle of Veuve Clicquot (yellow label) for $69 less the small discount.  There were 4 of us, though, so the issue of letting the bottle “hang out” didn’t come up.  😉

    Wow!

If that’s the actual price, give or take a couple of bucks, that’s a very reasonable price!!

  4. Does anyone know if Regent (Splendor) stocks Clicquot ?  I realize it would be an extra charge.

If they do, would it be possible to purchase a bottle and just let it "hang out" in the Ob Bar, our usual watering hole, so

I could have a special treat at cocktail time. We've got lots of OBC and it would be nice to enjoy some other than in just

     the dining room/specialty restaurant.

Not even sure Regent stocks Clicquot......if so does anyone know how much?

  5. We just received this via email. I cannot seem to get a firm answer on whether we can use the whole

thing for one cruise....or a couple of them for one cruise....or must we use them piece meal for 6 different cruises?

Does anyone know how this works?

    Appreciate any info anyone has....

  6. Going out on a limb, here....

Years ago, very "pre covid", we cruised "grill class" on the QM2. After following all of the rig a ma roll, online, I was somewhat horrified to have to actually print our own boarding passes, AND luggage tags.

"Hey, we're grill class, here...." I was absolutely miffed, disgruntled, and not happy about any of that.

Geez, we paid a fortune and I actually have to do all this?

Well, I did....wasnt  happy about it,, but ya know, it now seems like small potatoes. We had a wonderful time and the "ordeal" of printing almost all of our docs, boarding passes AND luggage tags, is now forgotten. Seems kinda first world now....

I honestly think it's the wave of the future....expect more "do it yourself" chores, like it or not....

Hopefully most of the 15% cuts they announced in non-fuel costs will be invisible. It isn't effecting service, food or the experience in general and the luggage tags are now given out when hitting SSS levels. You can also opt-out of the catalog mailings....but those should decrease in frequency as well. TBH, there is really nothing in the pre-cruise package that you even need to bring with you - all you really need is a passport and a credit card.

This is very true. Due to some sort of snafu with the online check in, we were not able to complete it and there was nothing in the printed packet that was particularly helpful. With great trepidation, we arrived at the terminal with passport and credit card and were whisked away with no problem at all.

Actually the very easiest check in ever was with a small boutique line whose name I will not mention.

We arrived with untagged luggage (they took care of that), check in was a card table with a flower arrangement on it. Presented our passports, names were checked off the list and we walked on the ship.

Actually, if it's less paper, it's less to keep track of and is it really necessary? I'm all for getting rid of stuff I don't really need, particularly plastic I'll never use again.

  8. We did the Amazon on the Navigator this past March/April....no plastic bottles which was fine with me!

Early one am, I went to Coffee Connections for a brew to take back to the cabin....I said something like a paper cup would do.....Very kindly told "no paper, but you're welcome to take the mug back...."

Ah duh, on my part. Glad to see a reduction in anything not recyclable.

  9. Feeling pretty guilty about all of this, but for a change, we didn't get the sticky end of the lollipop, but the yummy part. We're getting the extra day, you folks will be missing out on. To be very honest, I'd almost trade the extra day for a departure from Manhattan.....

Does anyone know just who/what/why is messing up the Brooklyn terminal to force such a change?

  10. I had the best steak of my life in Prime 7 (if you like beef) but Pacific Rim has fabulous variety and the tempuras are hard to beat. Although Chartreuse wouldn't be my first pick (but still wonderful) they get the high mark for table settings. I always feel special when sitting down for dinner there. (haha!)

  11. We've been enjoying all of your commentary, pix, etc. The only thing that would've made this better would've been an in person account.....shades of the "infamous" Explorer TA from a few years ago!

Sounds like you've got beautiful weather and are enjoying all that the Splendor and Regent has to offer.

Keep sipping, sampling and carry on! Best to you both on the big 40!

  12. So very good to be hearing from you! John and I, like so many posting here have missed you on board AND on CC!

We'll be doing a similar route in September, also on the Splendor and although not a full blown reunion, tnr will be sailing with us.

We'll be following along with your adventures!

Congrats on the big 40....very special, you're only 13 years behind us...haha!

    Fair winds and following seas........
