I am going on this cruise...this is my first cruise ever and I am anxiously waiting....not sure what to expect...does anyone know if I need to bring fancy dress clothes to eat? Do they have a microwave in the rooms or onboard to use? I am hoping to meet some new friends and to have fun
Nice! I bet you'll have a blast.
Nothing super fancy for dressing up. There will be two "Cruise Elegant Nights" where some people choose to dress up. On Carnival, especially on an Alaskan cruise, this really doesn't mean much. I usually wear a button up shirt, no tie, and kaki pants and that's more than enough. However, there will be a few folks dressed to the nines, if that's your thing. Maybe have some pictures taken since there will be plenty of photographers.
No microwaves for passenger use. But, there is plenty of warm food to be had at most hours, including 24-hour room service (for a small fee).
Enjoy the cruise!

You'll be fine with the 1:25 pm flight. However, definitely take an Uber/Lyft so you're in control of timing versus waiting for a Princess shuttle to fill up, pick up other passengers, etc.

I worked on Point Loma as a contractor supporting the Navy/Marine Corps for many years and occasionally ate my lunch there near the cemetery. It really is a beautiful area. Recommend you Google "San Diego private tours". There are many folks who will take you to all the places you'd like to see.

Hi Jeff! I realize we've never met, but seeing both the boys in your throw-back pics nearly brought a tear to my eye.
However, like many others, I'm ready for another Jamman review!

Now….is a new table good juju or bad juju?
An excellent question. I’ve played on tables that had been just refelted, but never a brand new table.

Folks, here's my unsolicited advice. Gamble because you enjoy it, using only money you can afford to lose. Most importantly, NEVER chase comps!
Now back to our regularly scheduled program. 😁

LOL
Mr Karen was arguing with a slot tech that a slot machine is broken because no one has hit the jackpot, and he "put $300 into it last night and didn't win anything," and they should just shut it down because it's just ripping people off.
and he said.....not kidding..... "I gamble a lot, so I know"
Only thing missing was an angry "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?"
Door to balcony has a good whistle to it now. Sometimes a whistle, sometimes an angry kat.
LOL!
Hey, any updates on the craps table? Did they end up installing it while you were in Honolulu? Thanks

We live near Luke AFB, in AZ. And also see and hear jets almost every day. The newer F-22s can be quite loud, when they fly a little lower, but as yo said, the sounds of freedom.
I don’t know what the big deal about flying over cruise ships, they do all kinds of flyovers over special events, such as the Super Bowl and I haven’t heard of any complaints.
Not trying to be "that guy", but they don't fly F-22s at Luke. We have only F-35s and F-16s. Just thought you might like to know. 👍

I like it, especially the funnel. Luminosa has the same look. 👍

I HAVE CRAPS TABLE NEWS!!!
Right now, there's a digital Texas Hold 'em table, that is going bye-bye and a craps table is going in. Still unclear if Hawaii or Seattle for that installation.
Excellent news!! Thanks for keeping us updated on the craps situation - much appreciated. 🙂

Must be for the craps table I ordered for my upcoming Alaskan sail! 😁

Quick update - bag was located but Carnival emailed to tell us they will let us know the cost of shipping the bag. Are they actually serious???????
I was already on board looking at MSC cruises while on the Magic. Time to try a new line. Our son is older and ready to branch out too!
Glad they found it! Yeah, that's pretty bad if they're actually going to expect you to pay for return shipping cost.🤨 Even if the baggage loss wasn't their fault, goodwill towards the customer says they should eat the cost for shipping.
Yes, enjoy the other lines - we certainly do! But we still enjoy the Carnival product too.

There is no craps table
Oh crap!! Seriously, I'd be bummed if it were me. 😞
Edit: And just remembered you're on Luminosa, the ship I'll be on next month in Alaska! DOH!!! 🙃

I enjoy playing craps exclusively and have for many years. I knew this day was coming for Carnival (increasing the min bet, just like the Vegas strip properties did a while back). My bankroll and I are just not comfortable playing at the $15 level. In Vegas I can still Uber to off-strip properties and find $5-10 tables. Not so onboard.
On a positive note - at least I won't be risking any money in the ship casinos. 👍
Thanks for the info, OP.
