HI- I recently deleted and re-installed the Navigator app on my Samsung A13, because it wasn't working at all and I have a cruise coming up in 10 days. It works again but I thought it was funny and accurate that it only has a 2 star rating for performance on Google Play. Do those of you with I phones have an easier time with it than us Android Users? A 2 star rating is really embarrassing for a travel company's app. -Paul

Yes it really hot climates, especially in the Tropics, AC should never be set lower than 78. Most HVAC systems aren't designed to handle heatwaves that have multiple 90+ degree days.

Well All I can tell you is I stayed on the ship the entire time at HMC and the casino was open but but I didn't gamble since by that point in the 22 day Seattle to FLL cruise my gambling budget was long gone. The casino staff said they had made arrangements with Bahamian authorities to keep the casino open while visiting. Also Casino staff reported Panama charged a hefty amount to keep the casino open during the roughly 8-10 hour transit (It goes faster now with the 2nd set of locks operating)

Yes I am the experienced one. It was a post covid November 2021 cruise as the sail date got closer more Caribbean ports canceled on us, So HAL decided to OVR at HMC. Although since you can't dock at HMC we took in all the tenders by about 10 pm and sailed around little San Salvador and Big San Salvador a few times until about 7 am the next morning. Started tendering at HMC again and then headed to FLL at about 3pm on the 2nd day at HMC to finish the cruise

Ports that currently allow the cruise lines to operate their casinos while the ship is in port include Bermuda and Malta, which require cruise lines to apply for a gaming license. Bermuda has allowed casino operations for licensed ships between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. since 2013. It's usually opens 30 minutes after sailing. And despite cruiser Bruce's emphatic no about a casino being open while in port, there are ports that allow it. We had an Overnight at HMC once and the Casino stayed open the entire time we where hovering around and the tenders where operating. Also on my last transit of the Panama Canal aboard the New Amsterdam the casino was open during the entire transit. Om my recent Trans-Pacific cruise on Carnival the casino stayed open while in the Tahitian ports. But if you would rather be in a cruise ship casino then visiting Tahiti, you have a serious gambling problem.

If you can gamble on a budget you can get lots of great cruise deals and free hotel rooms in Vegas and Reno, and I assume Atlantic City and other casino destinations and not destroy yourself financially while doing it. I'm about to go on a "free" 22 day Carnival Trans-Pacific even though I have never sailed with them before. The wife says if I stick to my budget she will green light future long cruises by myself. (I'm retired, she works) Will power is the hardest human behavior to manage. whether it's eating, drinking, gambling or accepting free casino cruise offers

HAL cruises are currently higher priced then they ever have been, even for what was traditional a cheaper cruise (7 Day Mexico, RT from SD) is the original point of this thread. How do HAL loyalist deal with the price increases for the product which in most CC'ers opinion has lost it's luster over the years do to cost cutting. -Paul

As a Californian who likes the Mexico cruise option I wish HAL offered Californian Resident specials the way some lines offer State resident specials to our friends who live in some South Eastern state that has the 3 busiest cruise terminals

Mcrcruiser you ask the magic financial question that keeps the house of cards upright. Can people afford the payments? Can businesses afford to continue to finance their debt? Can governments keep selling bonds to finance their debt? In the short term most likely, but in the long term......

Well right now the entire hospitality industry is hoping the golden calf stays fat long enough to recover from the pandemic crash. Will things stabilize if demand goes down? I don't know I think consumer debt is currently at all time highs so it might take a recession for people to stop spending on travel.

Bookings are up, so prices are up. they were giving away cruises with the restart in the last part of 2021 and going into 2022. So this the new reality, airfares and hotels are also up way above the inflation rate.

I would never go on a cruise thinking "I'm gonna get a lot of remote work done using the ships satellite based WiFi system". Especially a cruise that is covering thousands of miles of open ocean with multiple consecutive sea days. But good luck none the less

just bought 3 shore Ex's but couldn't access any wifi packages. I wasn't planning on getting one anyway, I'm just gonna to use my International data for $10 a day when we are in port, (ATT US price) and Hawaii is free.
