Pete and Judy...now on the World Cruise....posted this on January 2nd.... "Kathi, aka Scrapnana, had to cancel the world cruise at the last second. She was going to be one of our tablemates for the cruise. We stopped by to see her in the Broward County Hospital, where she is undergoing tests but remains in great spirits. We will miss her very much on this cruise."

I just missed seeing the World Cruiser's depart last night....but so looking forward to all the wonderful blogs this year....so many different interests and perspectives....a really great group....!!! Who remembers the woman several years ago....who took the cruise for the 1st time....with her ex.....and basically hated it..........it was a blog I didn't want to read but was so outrageous....a total train wreck......you just couldn't look away.....😲😂 And....I think "our" Rich @richwmn ....getting...not at a last minute....but a past-minute upgrade to a veranda was simply amazing.....!!!!!!

Kathi.....I hope they have relieved your pain and identified the source... We are all sad and concerned.....IF there was anything positive....thank goodness you made it back stateside....!! And....if possible....please let us know how you are doing.....

I rang in the New Year at midnight for the first time in decades....well sorta....it was only because of one of those "wake up in the middle of the night" night's....😂 Right now.....I am debating on putting Christmas decorations away today....or using a much better procrastination excuse........Twelfth Night....!!!

How much we have shared this year....the Daily has been so full of compassion.... knowledge and joy....thank you....!! Hope 2023 will be gentle and kind to everyone.....🥰 And for those needing any wild party ideas....GO FISH.....😅

We had a great Christmas Eve...my family was so thoughtful...good food...fun gifts...and we were finally all together...!! Love reading all our "Daily Family" posts....hope everyone stays safe and travels safe.....🥰

Never, ever, did I think I would be saying this....but truly looking forward to the major rain storm coming our way in a few hours....it will melt the ice and freezing rain we've had since Thursday...and just in time for Christmas....!! It's been nip and tuck....but our family will finally be together tonight for Christmas Eve....1st time since 2019....🥰 Hope everyone is staying safe.....and will have a wonderful Merry Christmas....!!!

It is 24 degrees...a huge ice storm is due to hit this afternoon....and last thru tomorrow afternoon...🥶 I am good....candles and flashlights are all rounded up....phone, kindle and computers are all fully charged.... Fingers-crossed and hoping everyone can stay safe....for those at home and those traveling...!!

@Quartzsite Cruiser Thanks Lenda...those are great photos...!! Our quonset was on Asan Beach....a National Park now....:) My Dad was wearing a gun in my photo...all service men had to when leaving the base....there were still Japanese on the island....!!

@Heartgrove Jack....I would love to go back there too....the World Cruise stopped there a few years ago...I really should have taken that leg of the trip....!! On January 3, 1947....my Mom and I boarded the USS Lejeune in San Francisco...to take us to Guam....where my Dad...a US Navy Seabee had served during WWII and was still there... Those with family were given a quonset shell...if they could make it "liveable" and pass inspection...then we could join him. We spent one year there and loved it...:)

As I sit here pondering my short trip to the dermatologist this afternoon....I realize I rarely have those same thoughts when going thousands of miles on a trip.....😅

Yes...it is....!!! And...unless things change....Seattle is our favorite U.S. departure port...:)

Has anyone heard from Cat & David @Ichiban Nekko....?? Her last post on December 3rd....said they arrived safely home but still having some health issues.... Hope all is well.....!!

I've been on this cruise twice....and I love sea days....!! There is entertainment and anticipation going to Hawaii on the first set of sea days.....and total relaxation coming back..... I would think that only those diehard "port-loving" folks would have a problem....😉

When are you going....are you staying in the London area...or elsewhere....?? I haven't purchased my flights yet...because I wasn't sure about the return date... I am spending the first 3 weeks at the dorm in London...and planned on the longer train trips during a 2 week period after......it might make more sense to fly into Heathrow and come back from Edinburgh...staying as far away from London as possible and returning before May 6th.... I've tried to "google" what coronation celebrations will be held in other areas of the UK....but so far there isn't much published information......

@kazu Jacqui....what day are you flying to San Diego....I'll have my fingers crossed too...!! 🤞

I will be staying at Passfield Hall, 1-7 Endsleigh Place...where I spent 3 weeks in 2017. Even tho I was doing genealogical research at the libraries and archives....I loved meeting and visiting with the other traveler's staying there every morning for our full English breakfast....it was a great way to start the day....🙂
