... what were the options prior to the pandemic if you arrived to check in but were then suffering from a fever on the day and were not fit to board?
Thankfully I've never had that problem but I expect the answer would be that you would claim your insurance. It's nothing to do with Cunard if you're unfit to travel.
I'm wondering what would happen in the case where you test positive at the dock and are denied boarding. When you're retested it turns out to have been a false positive. Your insurance company denies your claim under your Covid cover because you haven't got, and never had Covid. Is Cunard (or any other cruiseline) liable for administering an unreliable test?

It did move around from time to time.
It moved around so much that they lost track of it. Which wasn't a major issue until the next certification inspection was due and they realised that one thing a ship must have is a bell! The problem was solved by sending someone ashore to buy a little handbell that lived on the bridge until the ship was sold. I wonder if it ended up in Dubai as well?

I have the same photo. But you've cropped out the deck directory at the right😄. And mine is too small to read the deck number.

So QE has probably called at Izmir twice.
She also called there around the first week of October 1012 as part of the Black Sea cruise.

We did have a great couple of days on the South shore of Long Island - with mid 70’s (F) seawater temps.
That brings back memories of an amazing holiday a few years ago. We drove out Long Island and took the ferry across to New London. Then Newport, Cape Cod, Boston, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and back down through New York to JFK. It was this time of year and the weather was outstanding.

Early in her career QM2 actually did a cruise from the west coast of the United States called "Royal Hawaiian Liner". It was back in 2006 and was round trip from Los Angeles with stops in Maui, Honolulu, and the Big Island. I don't believe anything has been repeated like that since.
A video of that trip is available on the Cunard Cruise Videos thread.

I do not think that is referring to Summer 2022 ex UK sailings.
Me neither, but I went looking for 2022 UK cruises and that’s what I found.

It would appear he was on that same voyage as you ...
In the cabin diagonaly above. I don't actually keep a note of HH's cabin numbers (Creepy).

Two days later. But I'll leave the identification for someone else.

None of these is correct, but indeed a "last" is involved, no Cunard ship has called there ever since.
with the blue railings it's towards the back of QV or QE.

Can't work out if it's Marina or Riviera. I don't know enough about them to tell the difference.

Well done @bluemarble
Found it interesting when years later the captain was asked about his favourite ships. He said that, while nothing compared with being Master of QE2, Crown Dynasty had been the most fun to actually get your hands on the wheel and drive.

I have to confess to being a little sneaky with this one because what you can't see is that her hull is this colour ...
