Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Can I trade some snow for some seaweed?😉
  2. I had bid on Sky Suite from a Aqua Class on the Beyond for the Sailing of March 26. A few weeks out my status indicated "pending" with no ability to change. Like you, I watched the available rooms disappear and I think there was just 3 SS left. Then magically on March 3rd, I received a email congratulating me that I have been upgraded. I also observed that the number of available of SS fluctuated, could be other upgrades and it cascades down or cancellations. Sometime when I looked at the first booking page, it indicated all of Suite were Sold Out and then the next day they become available. So I wouldn't totally count out your bid yet (up to 24 or 48 before the cruise) but your scenario looked a lot like mine....just a comment.

  4. I am new to Celebrity and have 23 cruises previously, nothing higher than a balcony cabin. I am solo I am also a newbie to a suite, a treat!! My understanding is suite guests are provided with a butler. Questions. Is the butler assigned to a few cabins or the whole retreat? Is the butler a replacement to the cabin steward and it only a title upgrade? Tipping (And I don't want this thread to get into a tipping conflict) When I move from Aqua Class to a suite, the daily tip increases, as part of the AQ fare the tipping was included, when you go to the suite, does the difference get added to my on-board account bill daily or the whole amount for the week? I usually tip the steward $100wk above the standard ship gratuities (please don't debate this is my choice and I feel comfortable but it is what I can afford assuming I have had great service which I usually do), if there is a butler as well, is that included in the extra suite cost of tipping? If not included, I am looking for a guideline to extend to them at the end of the tip over and above the steward for both scenarios- if there tip is included and if it is not? Again I am not sure what to expect. Everyone has their own opinion and I respect what is comfortable for you.
  5. Good thing you had the bar code. Some of the passengers that had lost their luggage as part of forgotten loaded card in my case didn't keep it and didn't know they needed it, safe to say they had more complications on reporting it lost. 😒 I did carry-on once for a cruise but it was tough because I am a inefficient packer😁. Also I will be doing a S2S on this cruise so 2-weeks of packing. I guess a good idea is pack lighter and use laundry. Thanks for sharing your story.
  6. Thanks everyone for the great information and feedback. It makes me want to have a apple platform just for this and air tags. But I will investigate the tiles for Android that is something I took out of this thread and I do appreciate other sharing their experience of their lost luggage and how celebrity had great customer service thank you
  7. Yes I am using flights by celebrity. It was a very good price and a good schedule. I did call the cruise desk for the flights and they did say if there's an issue with the flight but they didn't mention the luggage
  8. I have a question. MSC has a luggage recovery service. "In the unfortunate event of a luggage handling error by the airline, we offer a luggage recovery service. Working with the Lost & Found offices of each airport, we will make every effort to track your luggage and, when possible, have it sent directly to the ship at one of the subsequent ports of call. In order to help you trace any lost luggage in the most efficient way, we ask you to present a copy of the P.I.R. (Property Irregularity Report) prepared at the Lost Property Office of the airport where you reported the luggage missing." Does Celebrity offer this service? (first time Celebrity cruiser, 23 cruise total) Why I ask....the last cruise I took with NCL in December 22, my luggage along with about 30 others (forgot to load a whole cart) never left the airport in Toronto (Air Canada). We did file a lost luggage with the airlines at the destination (Orlando) and fortunately they did sent on the next flight and couriered to our pre-hotel (Port Canaveral) and arrived a 10pm at night. Now because this is becoming so common at the airport in Toronto, I am worried. Yes I did have insurance but it is a pain to replace everything. I never use to worry but hear from a lot of friends in the past 6 month that there luggage is getting lost. I am worried about my upcoming trip in March and love to know if this is a service option Celebrity provides. Side note....One of the people had used air tags for the first time, she thought they were not working BUT yes they were working the luggage never did leave Toronto.
  9. Wish I had the option of a boxing punching bag delivered to the room on one of my past cruises, would have saved me a few bruises from the ex-girl friend! 😉
  10. Hope someone can answer......I have recently heard that the buffet has been cut-back to 1/3 of the serving capacity for dinner (still the same for lunch & breakfast). On the Beyond, I have was told that they serve pizza and pasta till 1am (Maybe later?) at the back of the buffet (Oceanview). Have they stopped providing that late night food option as well? I am cruising on her in March, first time Celebrity. Thanks Andrew
