  1. The search brought up 1,000 threads that are about using it or buying it, nothing in the "pinned" section. I am not new to cruising, but new to Carnival. What is it?

Faster to the fun, gives you priority to getting on and off the ship. Allows you to go straight to your room as soon as you board. Priority after platinum and diamond guests.

  2. I check fare viewer everyday and haven't seen any price drops..today I heard about **********. I looked on there and it says the price dropped yesterday, $50/person...my questions....which is correct? How can I be sure if it has dropped? Can I call Carnival on a Saturday or are they closed? My PVP is out having a baby...

We have an 8k balcony, July 1st on the Miracle...

    Thanks for any help...

    Carnival is there 24/7

  3. Hey,

we booked early using a Fall/winter promo and now we're about a week away and there are lower fares available....does that promo qualify for the price protection?

    thanks

No, the only promo that gives price drops after final payment is early saver.

  4. The conference finals OKC vs. SAS may still be in session on 6/1.

Last year on the Dream it was very apparent that sports bar manager was not a NBA fan and refused to show the NBA finals the first day. Finally a group gathered together and went to customer service and a change was made.

The Dream doesn't have a sports bar, are you talking about the Casino bar ?

  5. Surely, at some point, the customer also has to take some responsibilty too. If you read the 'notes' on the bottom of your confirmation it will tell you right there that any changes to the reservation may result in loss of on board credit, or deposit changes. Mine says this..

    GUEST NOTES

    1) Early Saver: Changes made to the reservation may result in removal of the $50 pp deposit offer. If you find a lower cruise rate based on the total cabin occupancy & not from the booked ancillary services such as air, transfers, prepaid gratuities or Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses contact your Travel Agent or http://www.Carnival.com. Price protection does not apply to Super Saver, group rates, membership rates, select promotions, or travel agent promotions. A $50 fee per guest will be assessed for ship/sail date changes made prior to final payment date. Cancellations prior to final payment due date will receive a future cruise credit in the amount of the deposit less a $50 pp service fee. Subsequent upgrades in lieu of price protection will no longer be offered. No name changes allowed.

If people read their confirmations thoroughly some of this 'confusion' could be avoided.

People don't want to take responsibility, they want to blame.

  6. Hi all,

I will be on a cruuse in July. I would like to book a future cruise and get the obc. The problem is, the cruise I want to book won't be until July 2016 but the cruise schedule is not out yet. I'm thinking Alaska.

I undersrand i can book a different cruise and then switch as long as booking number is the same and keep the obc as long as I do not book ES. Is this correct?

Also can I change to ES?

Yes, you are correct. And you can switch to ES after you book it.

  7. In my situation I was upgrading from an inside cabin to a balcony and I paid $300 to do that I was not quoted the fact that I would lose my hundred dollar OBC. So in essence I would be paying 400 for the upgrade so for my situation which is different from what other people have said they were willing to lose the OBC and still save money. Why should I be penalized for spending more money? This is about customer service and doing the right thing and not worrying about the little fine print. The hundred dollars doesn't make or break me but would go along way for carnival to restore my faith in their business. I on the other hand won't do business with someone who won't play straight with me

Seems there is more to it than that, you shouldn't lose anything just for upgrading rooms. What was your $100 OBC for ? Unless maybe that promo was not available any more.

  8. All though the rep. Should have made it clear that if you switch from one promotion to another you will lose the previous promo perks, you should know that as well. To me it's a 50/50 split fault. I just recently switched from the 123 go rate to the military rate, although the switch benefits me, the first rate I booked required a $50 deposit, the military rate required the full $200 deposit. I knew when I switched I couldn't keep with the $50 deposit. It's a lesson learned, but worthy of never sailing with them again, No.

  9. If you're just comparing ships, I prefer the Conquest. While most bars on the Dream are fine, they are just normal Carnival bars. The lobby bar, was a good socializing bar, Ocean Plaza bar was tucked back in a corner with mainly trivia players coming to get drinks, when no trivia was going on it was pretty dead, Serenity Bar was tiny. With no sports bar on the Dream you had to go to the Casino Bar to watch or catch up on sports, which is ok if you are a smoker, it was usually packed. The Conquest pretty much has all the above, plus the EA Sports bar, and the Alchemy Bar, both are great bars. Comedy clubs have been great on every ship, but that's primarily determined by the comedian. The dream did have the best comedy club host I've seen on any ship. I've seen the stage shows on the dream multiple times do maybe I'm just over them, 8 seconds was an ok show, but if you have seen it then you've seen the shows the Dream will offer.

  10. In my opinion, Guys burgers are only slightly better than the standard burgers. I seem to be in a minority there, but you definitely seem to be in a minority in regards to the shows. A huge majority of people hate the Playlist shows that the Conquest received. There will be some that prefer to it to Dream's style of shows, but they are few & far between. Please don't take that as me saying that you're wrong for preferring Playlist. I'm just pointing out that an overwhelming majority don't like it at all. For most people that enjoy the stage shows, they will say that the Dream's shows are the best of all Carnival ships. I say that they blow every other Carnival ship totally out of the water.

As far as bars go, I'm not a drinker, so a bar is just a bar to me. If Dream's are lacking, I don't care. But some people will, and I yield to those that know more about it.

You're exactly right, it's all a matter of opinion.

  11. Dream has the Blue Iguana bar, but not the Blue Iguana cantina. However, she does have lunch burritos at the burrito bar, which is exactly like the Cantina's lunch burritos. Dream will still have burgers, and will have them at more extended hours as well, plus more than only burgers. I don't know what the Alchemy bar is, so I don't know how the Dream's countless bars will compare.

Definitely the Dream for me. Dream's shows are far superior to Conquest's, which are quite sad. Dream has a better waterpark, if you enjoy that. (It's not only for kids.) Plus the extra day, & Key West doesn't interest me.

They are called the Blue Iguana Tequila bars, Red Frog Rum bars. The normal hamburgers on carnival don't even come close to Guy's burgers. The set up for bars on the Conquest is better than the countless bars on the dream, Dream doesn't even have a sports bar. The Alchemy Bar is a Martini Bar with numerous Martini's, and they will custom make one for you. The Dream's shows do not compare to the Conquest's shows with the stage upgrade the Conquest received. And the Dream is the one with the extra day.

  12. I stated from the beginning it was my experiece as evidently i don't know everyones experiences, that is the only thing that bugged me is YOU did NOt understand that fact. This is one Missouiran talking to another.

I also know that each ship and port does things differrently. Mine was in Miami and FLL only, All Carnival.

Other people are more then welcome to get on here and tell us their experiences as it might come in handy some day.

I do understand that, but you seemed a little bothered when all I did was answer someone else's question, even though you may have already answered it. Some people just don't go through the thread to see if the answer is there or not. Sorry if maybe we just had a misunderstanding.
