  1. I agree. A 40% discount will make bottles of wine look much more tempting, especially ones not offered by the glass with our vouchers. They have had supply issues (who hasn’t?) recently, but hopefully your wines will be in stock on your cruise.
  2. You can see wine lists alongside the menus on the app for MDR plus other venues such as 270, vintages, etc.
  3. I do understand your point of view. I simply had a different, immediate word in the poll. Your example is interesting to me. My next cruise booking is a gty balcony on Odyssey. Per barcode trick, we got an 2E obstructed balcony. RoyalUp’s lowest offer the extended balcony. So, you and I started from same place (obstructed balcony, though mine is gty), but your win would be 2 categories and if I hypothetically won it would be one category. (It won’t happen…we like our partly shaded deck 7 porthole balcony enough that we won’t risk getting an extended balcony near the smoking area,)
  4. Well, the voting may be funky because people may think differently about “categories.” I immediately voted 1 category as on my last RoyalUp win I went from an ocean view cabin to a balcony. Reading your post, perhaps you’d have called that a two category upgrade as there was a larger oceanview cabin category🥱.
  5. No, a couple sharing a stateroom is allowed 2 bottles of wine and 12 sodas. I don’t know if they will carefully enforce that limit, but that is the rule. ”Guests may also bring non-alcoholic beverages as carry-on items on boarding day. Non-alcoholic beverages may not exceed 12 standard (17 oz.) cans, bottles or cartons per stateroom.” Clarification: Doesn't have to be soda (though it usually is) ... can be any non-alcoholic beverage: Bottled water, Snapple, etc. A question just sprang to mind: We'll be cruising with a toddler soon ... are we allowed to bring juice boxes for him? Most of you know that when a toddler wants a drink, he wants it NOW, so it'd be handy to have them in the room. Does this count against the 12-drink allowance, or is this like babies whose formula "doesn't count" towards the stateroom's drinks? M2M, part of my post seems to have been inadvertently omitted. I have included it so you will no longer need that clarification. Jimbo specifically asked about soda, so I answered about soda and also quoted the RCI policy which includes the blanket statement about nonalcoholic beverages Here is more of that RCI policy for you: “Guests may also bring non-alcoholic beverages as carry-on items on boarding day. Non-alcoholic beverages may not exceed 12 standard (17 oz.) cans, bottles or cartons per stateroom. Milk and distilled water brought on for infant, medical, or dietary use are permitted.” Per policy juice boxes would count as small cartons of non-alcoholic beverage and should count toward the allowance of 12 per stateroom. Obviously juice boxes are not milk or water so they do not fit within that exception. Though 12 is technically the limit, just as I said to Jimbo, I’m not sure how vigorously they might enforce that limit….YMMV. Even if others have carried on lots of juice boxes, you might get the gung-ho person who enforces the limit, though I would hope not. 16-17 oz bottles of juice (to be dispensed into a sippy cup) would go further if your little one might find that acceptable
  6. That’s nice. My history with Royal Caribbean does not go back that far. Plus sailing multiple lines over the years, I am struggling remember which cruiseline had which rules a decade or more ago. Perhaps because, in terms of vacations, a decade is not recent.
  7. Your concept of “recently” might differ from mine. I recall being allowed to bring on two bottles per cabin for years….at least 2014, probably longer….
  8. Just playing devil’s advocate…the amount spent is irrelevant to the allowance. Whether the adult is splitting a super cheap rate on an inside cabin or is massively overpaying for a big suite, the allowance is still one bottle per adult. Four adults sharing a regular stateroom for 12 nights may need those bottles😇
  9. So many dead horses awaiting beatings, must make home very stinky crowded place🤣
  10. Yeah, yeah, yeah keep beating your favorite dead horse😀😀😀😀. We know Royal considers the cabins equivalent, else they would not be in the exact same category. In terms of location, everyone has preferences. For example, some people like balconies on high deck while others like lower decks. That hypothetical full price customer might like Xswabby’s cabin better; we cannot know. A few months ago I paid to upgrade to a WS when only two JS remained. I was assigned the unobstructed one mid way to the elevators. I called and asked to swap to the obstructed one (window washing apparatus plus ship structure) further from elevators. Thus, I gave up the cabin most casual customers (and many CC members) would take. I knew the obstructed cabin had a shady alcove off the balcony that my shade loving hubby would enjoy. We enjoyed the cabin rejected by so many others.

  12. I hope they officially give you your assignment relatively soon; that had happened for us previously. That gives you better odds of catching a chance to swap. Once I stayed in “bar code status” for weeks, watching nicer cabins in my category disappear and then the entire cruise sell out. Our assigned cabin was so-so and we thought we’d stay put. Someone must have cancelled a few days before the cruise, as our RoyalUp bid won. You never know.
  13. Maybe RoyalUp will work for you. Hope so. In the meantime, learn the exact category code of your cabin to be (example 4V or whatever). Once your cabin assignment becomes official, you can see if any cabins in that exact category in a location you prefer are available. Someone may cancel, so a balcony may become available by then. If so, call your TA (if you used one or RCI (if you booked direct) and politely ask if they will allow you to switch. If no better located cabins are available right then, keep watching: sometimes one pops up. If it does, call quickly before someone else grabs it.
  14. If we ask, we have always received bathroom amenities, though the brands (and my subjective judgment of their quality) vary. Still, for me any are superior to the all-purpose gel in the shower dispenser. We always pack our own but DH often likes has having the extras.
  15. It is still a listed benefit😀. See details back in post #248.
  16. Check your list again. It is the last item under the heading “IN STATE- ROOM SERVICES.” Upgraded bathroom amenities for members with 340+ cruise points31 31 Members with 340+ cruise points receive upgraded bathroom amenities in their stateroom upon arrival. Subject to availability. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/crown-and-anchor-society-benefit-grid.pdf
  17. Add to Passport? I don’t know what that means. Do you mean you added your set sail passes to your apple wallet….and when you look in apple wallet the numbers below the barcode after the dash do not match your cabinmates?
  18. If you are the same household, you share the amenity. If your amenity lists do not match, I’m told they are suppose to use passenger #1’s list (YMMV). DH and I choose to have matching lists.
  19. There is a brief survey, but I suspect in an effort to minimize the luggage sorting they generally give the certain tag numbers on the each deck unless there are special circumstances.
  20. C&A only lists priority waitlist, so your table size issue is irrelevant to that C&A list discussion.
  21. I believe if your preferred MDR option (early, late or MTD)is waitlisted, you should receive a priority position on said waitlist, In the past when I asked or they volunteered, reps have called or emailed the dining department asking that I be cleared off the waitlist with good results. That was some time ago, as I have not been waitlisted lately. Have you had difficulty getting your preference of early, late or MTD?
  22. Definitely a let down. I’m rather disappointed in the list. It is mostly beverages and snacks. I already have enough of those on board.
  23. From what I’ve read if one cannot make satisfactory reservations before using the package, they can get a refundable OBC for the unused UDP. Personally, if I had already consumed meals using the package, then requested a refund of the UDP, I would expect to be billed full list price for all the meals I had consumed and receive refundable OBC for the UDP. Royal would be foolish to routinely refund a prorated amount, as unscrupulous sorts could book the UPD, eat embarkation lunch in a specialty restaurant, perhaps enjoy a bit of sushi or a bite at playmakers, have a full dinner at 150 CP (or another expensive restaurant) on night one then go to GS to request a refund of the UDP.
