  1. Go back and read my post #23 on this thread.
  2. I was quoted $70,955 for WC designated solo cabin. i was quoted $106,580 for WC mid ship solo. Those prices include 10,300 for port charges and 5% CS discount.
  3. It seems the designated solo cabins have Zero supplement. I know this is true for the world cruise. The single supplement for the world cruise on non solo cabins deck seven is 50%. According to calliopecruiser's post above, other cruises have a supplement of 48% and 74% for non solo cabins deck 7.
  4. Just so i understand...are all of these quotes for a solo cruiser? That is, one would pay 196% of the designated solo cabin window for a veranda in the first example and a solo would pay 148% of the solo cabin for a single occupancy window in the second example?
  5. I note that there are 14 cabins designated as solo cabins on Serenity. But under Serenity's previous deck plan, there were 20 more cabins (7002 through 7021) further forward. I don't know if those cabins have been removed, or if they are reserved for speakers/entertainers...or something else. In any case, I feel better knowing that the solo cabins are not all the way forward. I sailed in cabin 7043 on my first world cruise in 2012. That's pretty close to the new solo cabins. I had no issues with the location.
  6. The old Crystal had a straight 25% single supplement for all of deck seven (the ocean view cabins). The new Crystal (Quoting here for the World Cruise...not sure about the other cruises) has a Zero supplement for the designated solo cabins, and a 50% supplement for the other cabins on deck seven.
  7. There will undoubtedly be tweaks to the itinerary. I remember the old Crystal having numerous mistakes on initial postings of world cruises. Regarding Nazareth, I have to think Crystal will be in port at Haifa. There must be excursions planned for Nazareth. I agree three days in Tahiti seems unwarranted. I guess it has to do with arrival on the first day being at 20:00...late in the day.
  8. I found out about the World cruise by reading this thread....and then called Crystal where I obtained information that I have posted here.
  9. I was quoted 141 days, but I counted 143 inclusive. I counted 78 days in ports which does not include the two canal crossings. My count could be off of course. For those who want port intensive itineraries, there are the Mediterranean segments.
  10. Crystal is requiring the 15% deposit (for Crystal society members) to be paid up front. i.e. there is no "reservation on hold" for the world cruise.
  11. World cruise Itinerary. The segments can be surmised by the ports with multiple days. 12. Cost for a solo on deck seven designated for solo cruisers is $70,955. Single supplement for other rooms on deck seven is 50%. Note the OP stated they did not need the $1000 pp credit for transportation. This is a bookkeeping entry...it is credited to the invoice if booked.
  13. Good: It appears the MDR will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Big deal for me as I despise buffets. I enjoy a nice breakfast or lunch...hopefully with the opportunity to chat with others...on sea days. Heck, sometimes I like a MDR breakfast on port days. Tub out...shower in. Great news. Always thought the tub was more of an obstacle. Tastes is back! Yes! Casino gone. I used to be a regular at the casino tables. But then I had an epiphany: what with zero commissions, i can "gamble" much more profitably on my laptop at the stock market casino. I didn't appreciate bored casino employees (I guess others gave it up as well) imploring me to come gamble when I walked through the casino. Bad: Pricing. As many have posted, it appears Crystal thinks its aging ships are comparable or better to new ships with a track record. So, we are supposed to think an unproven experience will be better than a proven one?? Excursions. Other lines include an excursion in every port. I realize these are not premium excursions, but they are included in the fare. Crystal thinks it can charge us more for an unproven shipboard product AND an unproven shore experience. Really Bad: Treatment of solo passengers. Go back and read the post above from @Jayayeff above. I cannot say it any better. Spot on. It appears pricing for solo cruisers not in the designated solo cabins will be astronomical. Hopefully New Crystal will expand the solo cabin offerings or lower the single supplement like Vintage Crystal had done.
  14. May, thanks for posting. When you say the "single stateroom" is $4800 are you quoting the price for one of the designated solo cabins or the price for other deck seven cabins with a single supplement?
  15. Thanks. The article quoted both 19 square meters and 62 square feet. I didn't check the math, and neither did the author.
  16. The Crystal representative who called me said that past guests would receive credit for previous sailings on the "old" Crystal. Of course, no one knows what any new loyalty program will look like.
  17. Checking my phone: 786-464-4606, so from the same phone bank as FloatSomeMore.
  18. That's all true. But everything counts. Most deposits will come from Americans. A & K is private, but Zippia estimates revenue (not profit) for A & K in the US at 1.1 million for 2021. Five to ten million would be several times that figure.
  19. The early deposit program is there to provide interest free loans to the new Crystal. I reread the open booking letter. It did not say the beginning of 2023. It stated "early" 2023. i suppose as late as June could be considered "early"....
  20. After some thought, I decided to pay the open deposit. Filled out the form, and was told to check my email. Email promptly received with a link to click for finalizing the process. I did that, but nothing happens except a circle moving for less than a minute and then a blank screen. i tried to call Crystal, but a recording states that the office is closed. Maybe for the holidays?...but this is not mentioned on the email. This experience does not engender confidence in the new Crystal.
