I was one of the first to hop on here back in January, saying this is fubar bad situation!  Cruises are going to be cancelled, the sky is falling!   People thought I was nuts.  I went into full prep mode third week of January.   Now I'm going out on a limb again.  This thing is essentially over,   the only thing keeping it going is political agenda, fear mongering, and data mining by the media.    T-cell immunity in probably close to half of the population, should be bringing the chance to overwhelm hospitals to an end.    The death numbers once they drop below seasonal flu, it's done.    The election, regardless of outcome will bring most of this to an end.     I'd say ships will be sailing December.

    * Also if your facing underlying issues, then be sure to take safety measures,  I'm a fool on the internet, I could be wrong.   If you have fully bought into the establishment, then you be you.

With a one word response, write the month you think Carnival cruising will resume in the U.S.

    May

Ridiculous to bring these posts to this thread.

    Ridiculous not to!! Sheesh...

Especially when a thread itself is ridiculously complacent & selfish.

Giant holes where a cruise ship used to be?? Are you serious!!!

Cruise Critic members are concerned about refunds & cancelations & are forgetting about the giant holes being dug all over the world due to Covid-19...

Hoping someone could offer some advice.  We were originally on Radiance out of Port Canaveral on 11/30, then got switched to the Breeze.  I have a final payment due on 8/30 for $500.

My wife already said she isn't going on this cruise and wants me to cancel it.

Should I wait, pay the final balance and see if Carnival cancels for me or should I just cancel now.  I liked the extra $200 they gave us when we were moved to the Breeze plus I had another $200 from a promotion that I know I will lose if I did the canceling.  By waiting and seeing if Carnival does the canceling there is the prospect of that additional $600 OBC for a future cruise.  I know in the end it's just money.  Any suggestions?

I heard a rumor in my cruise Facebook group  that hey will make an announcement tomorrow about rest of the year for cruises.   I don’t know if that’s true or not

12 hours ago you heard a 'rumor'.. Now 12 hours later, it's true??

Broward County, the same county that tried blaming the USCG for closing off port access to returning cruise ships, just mandated masks to be worn in homes.

Wrong, false & misleading. Sheesh! Broward County ‘mask-at-home’ order only applies to GUESTS IN SOMEONE'S HOME. Look it up. Get your facts straight!

Or phone the Broward County Sheriff office @: (954) 765-4321

Any thoughts on where I can find and purchase a nice photo of the ship (Ebay is full of postcards, no photos really)

To clarify, I am Just looking for a full exterior photo of the ship

Does the photo have to be an original Carnival Fantasy 'stock' photo? If not, you can locate your favorite exterior shot and print your own 8x10, then place it in a nice frame.

Good luck in your search! ✌️

Many of the crew still on board are not guest facing crew, they are ship operations crew and their job goes on with or without guests on board.

Hmmmmmm..... that is certainly not entirely true. I know 📸photographers📸 on three cruise lines; Carnival, Royal & Princess that after 4 months, are still on their ships waiting to go home. They're not having issues with the cruise lines, but rather the countries they live in. Hope they get home soon.

Wait.....did I read in a post on this thread that there may be a Chinese developed vaccine?

I am leery of any Covid-19 vaccine until a great amount of research is done concerning side effects of such a vaccine. While I do think that a vaccine will mitigate Covid-19 cases world-wide, I will need to be convinced that if I do take the vaccine

I'd be leery in regard to ANY vaccine that is fast tracked. The last time the government sought a ‘Warp Speed’ vaccine, Gerald Ford was president, it was 1976, a mysterious new strain of swine flu turned up. It was also an election year & the fast tracked vaccine was a COMPLETE FIASCO...

Unfortunately cruising and social distancing are two very mutually exclusive things.

A cruise ship is not set up for this kind of thing.

10000000% correct! You hit the nail directly on the head.

Cruise ships are NOT designed/set up for social distancing.
