I am getting it because of the other benefits.

Sometimes the lines at GS are long so if I need to go there I can use it.

With FTTF you are given a dedicated phone line to guest services as well. You don't even have to wait in the dedicated FTTF, VIFP Diamond & Platinum line at guest services if you don't want to. You can call the dedicated phone line from your cabin.

    FTTF info located @:

This was our 38th Carnival cruise, 52nd overall, and our first time on the Liberty. We had a great time and would definitely sail on her again. It was a 4-day Bahamas cruise and while we have been to Nassau and Freeport about 20 times, it had been a long time since we had visited those two places.

    Embarkation:

Port Canaveral Terminal 5: disappointed there was no valet parking as we are used to in other ports. I needed a wheelchair (just for getting on and off the ship) and it was a long, long, walk to get one! I had my rollator with me so that helped.

We found the ground crew to be unfriendly and not very willing to help me. I felt they were brushing me off after we asked for a wheelchair from 3 different staff. The ground crew there needs some training on dealing with special needs passengers and the wheelchairs should be located by the parking garage, not so far away and after check in. We cruise mostly out of Tampa and its ground crew is the best, followed by the Ft. Lauderdale ground crew.

    Cabin:

Ocean View 2284 by the forward atrium elevators. Excellent location and the cabin was the most spacious ocean view we've ever had on Carnival. Very quiet and no noise from the elevators.

    Steakhouse:

we ate there the first night and thoroughly enjoyed our meal served by a very attentive wait staff.

    Main Dining Room:

we only ate there once on elegant night. Had Your Time Dining and we were seated at a table for two immediately at 5:45pm. Our waiter did a really odd and annoying thing when we placed our order. I ordered the Steakhouse Selection Lobster Tail and he asked me why I wanted that when there were so many other choices in the regular menu?

He became insistent and I also became insistent that's what I wanted. I don't know what his issue was and I didn't appreciate it. The lobster tail was delicious. The other two nights I wasn't hungry for dinner after having too much for lunches; DH ate dinner the other two nights at the Lido buffet.

Lido Buffet, Guy's Burger Joint and Blue Iguana Cantina:

nice buffet with good choices. Had Guy's Burgers twice for lunch and they were very good. We ate egg and ham burritos from the Cantina for breakfast a few days and also good. DH had tacos from the Cantina a few days for lunch and he really liked them.

    Casino:

this was a greatly discounted cruise for us from the Player's Club and I spent all my time at the casino when it was open. It had a great variety of slots and I did very well. I also received a great bounce back offer from the casino staff the last night.

    Entertainment:

I didn't attend any shows, but DH said I didn't miss anything. We did enjoy the two violinists who played at the atrium bar. The  Country singer was also pretty good.

    Carnival Staff:

Housekeeping guy was great. DH tipped him the first afternoon to please keep our ice bucket always filled and he did. Platinum Guest Services staff were very helpful. In general, staff was very friendly.

    Nassau and Freeport:

Didn't go on any excursions, but DH did get off the ship to buy some Cuban cigars in Nassau. The Freeport pier area was open except for Senor Frogs and Fat Tuesday that had been hit hard by the last hurricane. Again, no excursions and DH just stayed in the pier area.

    Debarkation:

went much better than embarkation. I needed a wheelchair and was told to meet in the theatre at 7:30am. We were in zone 1 and used a porter for our luggage. We were off the ship and on our way by 7:52am and home by 9:30am.

Wall of words. Just making it easier so some people to read.

    Thanks for your review!

    👍

  3. Whole milk is available. At the buffet you might have to ask. In the MDR you might have to ask. When a milkshake is made they use a gallon jug of (Bordens Whole Milk). If you don't see whole milk, simply ask for it.

The 3rd night, I ordered Veal Parmesan.  I've always been able to cut it with a fork. This night my knife wouldn't budge it. The waiter got a sharper knife, and he had an awful time cutting it also. I took a bite, chewed it for 5 minutes.

This was the red flag to prompt me to stop reading right here. You chewed a bite of veal parmesan for 5 minutes like a piece of gum?? I can understand 10 or 20 seconds or so, but 5 minutes....

Family of four will be on Horizon with 2 balcony cabins.  Will I be able to have the balcony divider open between the two cabins?

I did a search but did not find the answer.

It would have been ideal to have the connecting cabin that's next to ours but it was booked already☹️

    What is your cabin number?

If you don't want to list it here:

    1) Click on the link below

    2) Then click on your deck number

    3) Then scroll down until you locate your cabin number.  There it will list which cabin or cabins your balcony divider will open to.

    Very easy question to answer.

Click on this link to find your cabin on Carnival Horizon:

The shortest is a 6 day Canada cruise from NYC, but I'm sure you already know that. :classic_cool:

After the 6-night sailing September 24th to 30th 2020 to Canada from NYC that member Jamman54 mentioned, the next shortest sailing on Mardi Gras would be a 6-night Eastern Caribbean on January 2nd to January 8th 2022 from Port Canaveral.

We are cruising on Carnival Horizon for the first time next March. Our room is 6205, deck 6 at the bow or front of the ship.  If you have done this end of the ship, or even this room, or close by, would you please give me your pros/cons of this room, or the location?

You are directly above the (back stage area) of the Liquid Lounge Main Theater. You will most likely experience some electrical & mechanical sounds; sets being moved; music & mechanical noises during a show & sounds during show rehearsals. If you're a light sleeper you might want to consider ear plugs...

First, I hope this doesn't get moved to the Cozumel board.

I don't know where that is, but admittedly haven't put much effort into finding it.

We will be there on Monday on the Sunrise and plan on renting a golf cart for the day. How safe is the island if we wanted to head to the downtown area on the other side of the airport? My fiancee and I are both in our 30's and will be going with another couple on the cart so we should have safety in numbers and I'm sure the island is fine but you can neve rbe too sure.

Also what are the best shops away from the port area to go and get interesting stuff?

Grand Turk is a very safe island, however, when traveling anywhere, simply use common sense.

Word of caution: Don’t go for the food. It’s absolutely disgusting. Everything either looks and tastes nasty (green eggs), or is a sugar bomb that will leave you jittery for the rest of the day after a bite or two. We left 95% of our food on the table and then went to the buffet to have more traditional breakfast items. 😂

It is not mandatory at all to order from the Seuss menu. We have done Seuss At Sea breakfast 3 times so far & each time I ordered a traditional breakfast; eggs, bacon, omelette, lox & bagel, etc. etc..

    Just ask.

We’re booked on the transatlantic and so concerned about the cruise being cancelled because of ship building delays. Seeing that sister ship from Costa is now delayed for second time, and sister ship from Aida was delayed multiple times.

Hopefully the shipyard figures out the issues to keep on track!

I'm concerned as well in regards to Mardi Gras being completed on time. Costa Smeralda finished sea trials & was then initially delayed by the Meyer Turku ship yard for October to mid November. Now in the most recent Meyer Turku press release Costa Smeralda is delayed until December 21st. Three weeks past its maiden voyage date of November 30th😲... I'm definitely nervous & concerned for Mardi Gras to be completed & ready to sail on schedule.

FYI, I reached out to Carnival on a popular social media site as to the dimensions of the Havana pool on the Mardi Gras.  I was informed that the 'pool' will be 3ft3in deep.  The remaining dimensions were unknown.

I've looked at the bottles available to pre order for my room from the fun shop. Is the selection available from room service the same?

And again if someone doesn't have any of those "many reasons other than travel" why should they have a passport? I'm pretty sure that for all of the "many reasons other than travel" that exists there are many alternatives than a passport and those alternatives aren't as expensive. You're clearly extremely passionate within this thread in regards to reasons why someone might not need a passport. There are many reasons other than travel to own one. Look up reasons to own a passport or not to own one.

The bottom line is this... The list of possible reasons or possible needs for someone to own a passport is tremendous. The list of possible reasons or needs for someone not to own a passport is completely opposite.

Ownership of a passport certainly & clearly outweighs the reasons not to own one.

It depends on what your travel patterns are:

    1. You live near the border and the only travel you will ever do is crossing that border. You can use something other than a passport if you wish to.

    2. You like to cruise but you can only cruise via closed loop cruise once every year or two. You can use something other than a passport if you wish to.
