  1. Since you are "crossing the t" of the hurricane; I am surprised you haven't increased speed to get to vicinity of New York harbor sometime Thursday night. That last day should be a little rocky for you.
  2. Looks like you are aiming for a Friday morning sunrise arrival into NYC; should be spectacular.
  3. I really loved your reporting. See you on the Mariner for a wonderful trip to the Amazon!
  4. Date/time of arrival to New York? Will you be able to go to same dock for multiple days? I calculate that you "could" arrive late Thursday evening and wave forecast indicates that you "want" to arrive no later than Friday morning.
  5. We did this on Voyager in 2014; not quite as expensive then but well worth it - once. You get to spend only a couple of hours at the Taj; but that is sufficient. Our tour also went to Red Fort; I believe different years are different itineraries. Don't worry about Goa or Mumbai; you will probably end up there again on future cruises. The logistics are very involved with this trip so it was great that everything was covered; never felt uncomfortable except for the pollution in Delhi. Marc
  6. The reporting requirement is only for ships in US waters or going to enter US waters; neither of which apply to Splendor; here is the guidance from CDC site: Medical staff on cruise ships under U.S. jurisdiction must send gastrointestinal illness case reports to VSP at specific times: Before arriving to a U.S. port from a foreign port. This report is required even when there are no cases of gastrointestinal illness. Cruise ship staff send this report between 24 and 36 hours before the ship arrives at a U.S. port. When 2% or more of the passengers or crew have gastrointestinal illness. Cruise ship staff send this report any time the ship is in the United States or within 15 days of arriving at a U.S. port. If 3% or more of the passengers or crew have gastrointestinal illness. Regent hasn't reported an outbreak since June 2018.
  7. I solved that problem on last cruise; I ordered a Popcorn Sundae for appetizer in Prime 7. Pastry chef doesn't come on until 1900 so you can't do it before then.
  8. I have been told by Delta that I will need to show "proof" of return "trip" from Europe at check in before I leave Austin. I am anticipating just using paid invoice for the Barcelona to Miami booking. What have others shown at checkin? Were there any issues? thanks, Marc
  9. Enjoy the next week; long range forecasts have you and Tropical Storm/Hurricane Lee both arriving in Bermuda on 14 September. 10 September is the peak of the Atlantic tropical season so you were always going to have a good shot of some tropical weather.
  10. What the Explorer and Splendor gyms need is wheelchair access; or at least access by walker. Only way to access is on Deck 6 and then you have to maneuver through tight doorway and down two steps. Just because someone's legs are not usable does not mean that they don't want to use the gym to work on upper body strength.
  11. I would let HK Mgr know that you expect her to fix it and that there really would be no need to elevate to GM. I have found that getting the direct manager to fix a problem instead of taking everything to GM is better in the long run. Of course, you have posted online so I am sure that Miami willl be contacting GM; I would still try to give the HR Mgr a chance to address before she is asked by GM.
  12. I would be livid; I would expect the Housekeeping Manager in my suite in 15 minutes.
  13. There are wonderful sommeliers across the Regent fleet; hopefully, we will sail with Georgianna again and she will have a second chance to make a first impression.
  14. Agree, that didn't seem what she meant; we traveled out of HSV for many years; we know that airport very well. I even flew out of there in March 1993 last flight out before the airport was closed due to snow.
  15. If they wanted to leave from a "secondary" airport their invoice would show $124.50 per person per direction additional charge. Given that IAD is a Regent primary airport it shouldn't show up on this itinerary but I wanted to show how you could "pay" (i.e., invoice) the additional cost before you have flights.
  16. I guess there hasn't been a change; the Member Guide is contradictory. You earn the "tier level" as soon as you board but you don't earn the "nights" until the segment/cruise has completed. Sorry to create a misconception.
  17. From the SSS Member Guide (bolding added): 2. Reward Nights Your membership tier is defined by the number of completed nights on board. Nights on board will be accrued on completion of the voyage on which they were earned (except on Grand Voyages or World Cruises, where nights on board are accrued at the end of each segment, as defined by RSSC). You will not accrue nights on board: in respect to any time spent travelling in a hotel, for example as part of a pre- or post-cruise hotel or land program; in respect to any time you would have spent on a Regent Seven Seas Cruises® ship but for the cancellation or curtailment of that voyage, for whatever reason; in respect to time spent by other members of your party or family (whether or not they are Seven Seas Society® members), or for unused berths in your suite; in respect to any nights gained or lost by travelling over the International Date Line during a Grand Voyage or in segments of a World Cruise. Reward nights on board are personal to you and may not be transferred to any other person.
  18. If you want to save the long walk down the pier I would mosey up to the Pool Bar and ask for a Rum Punch and enjoy the scenery; no tip required. Last two times in Harvest Caye we have decided to stay onboard; pool bar was very relaxing.
  19. This wasn't true on last year's Grand Arctic. There were a couple of couples that made Diamond upon boarding given the 94 nights added to their reward nights.
  20. Gpilon, you might be on to something. Titanium benefits no longer mention veuve cliquot, flowers, or chocolates (although mentioned on all my invoices). Also, there is a subtle change for Grand Voyages and World Cruises in that nights are credited at end of each segment; not when you board for the entire length of the cruise. As I really don't care, these changes might have been made years ago and I just noticed based on your post. As for cost cutting; it is a necessary evil; I just hope the costs are cut that impact others and not me. Marc
  21. Choose or assign? I have had both happen. Better chance by checking in as soon as we're able? I think you will be allowed to board regardless of when you check in online; so don't sweat it. YMMV.
  22. The previous cruise is the Christening cruise with Commodores, Diamonds, honored guests, and top TAs; I don't think Regent will be kicking those folks off at the crack of dawn. I would plan on normal 1130-1330 boarding. During online checkin up to 21 days in advance you will choose/be assigned a time.
  23. Alternatively, you can decline the Regent pre/post cruise and take a $750 per person credit and do it on your own.
  24. m'ellen, will you be coming in early before our cruise next year? We will be flying into NRT and staying at Conrad for three nights.
  25. I sure hope you are right and it is postponed until 1/1 as we leave Brazil on 12/28 and would not need a visa.
