  1. I have found this works (USA experience) to add to existing booking only when booking is over a year away and, of course, the category you want to book (and sail) is still available. Further, financially I have found this really works best on Mariner (E to C) or Navigator (G to E). I am currently on Navigator in a C and when this sale came out in 2022 my TA was able to change my booking to an E upgraded to C and saved us $2,300. Similar cruise on Explorer wherein we changed an F2 booking to G2 only saved us $1,000 for 30 day cruise. At least in USA (where Regent doesn't dump inventory) booking early is usually best deal. Marc
  2. All available. Also you can hire a personal trainer; did that one cruise.
  3. Looks like it is good on all cruises except Grand Voyages and World Cruises.
  4. That is the policy that Franck specifically said would not be followed; Regent got sued by someone who said their items were taken.
  5. This suggestion also has other usages. "Ladies and Gentlemen the spotlight is now on the gentlemen in shorts who doesn't pay attention to the dress code"
  6. Destinations staff member came up to me at pool bar and asked that I clarify my previous post to let people know I was only joking. They are tired of explaining the lack of Seaside zip line tours.
  7. That is easy. Just wait. Especially on Grandeur where there are so many more CCTV.
  8. Another solution would be to deny any additional specialty restaurant reservations. How about being called into GM office.
  9. “Ladies and Gentlemen, the show will begin in approximately five minutes. The spotlight is now on the gentleman who has been saving loungers on deck. Feel free to let him know your feelings.”
  10. Corporate decision is not to remove items from saved loungers; there are other ways to address the problem.
  11. I thought there were more on Grandeur. About 140 on deck 11 plus a lot more on deck 12 with the expanded deck space. I guess I over estimated. Starting in February Stephane and Michael will alternate as GM on Grandeur and both are no nonsense managers so I hope the chair hog problem will swiftly disappear.
  12. Bitob, any way you can count the total lounges on decks 11 and 12? I really think the modifications made should make Grandeur better than Splendor with respect to chair hogs. Franck had given me the same explanation Christmas 2021 and Christmas 2022; nothing has changed on Splendor. I have found getting their early helps. I take a sign saying “Lounger $10” gets me a little spending money.
  13. Destinations has arranged tours to Seaside to ride their zip lines; quite a hit. Only issue is that the zip lines are pretty slow.
  14. Grandeur addressed a number of the issues with chair hogs. First, they don't have the couples loungers in the shade on Deck 11; they are all solo. Second, they got rid of the couples beds on Deck 12. Third, there are a lot more loungers in the shade on Deck 11 because of the increased shade from expanding Deck 12. Those three changes should really cut down on (impact of) chair hogs.
  15. Great New Year’s Eve party in Horizon Lounge. Sadly, this cruise is coming to an end, just five more days.
  16. Last year on Splendor we had countdown on pool deck. Previous year on Splendor almost entire entertainment staff was still in quarantine, I don’t remember what we did.
  17. I think there are 628 guests. I am going to save our seats; probably right after tea. We have spent seven New Year’s Eve onboard and this will be first time trying to do countdown in Horizon; outdoor works best and atrium is a lot better than horizon.
  18. Mariner will NOT be Formal Optional for this New Year's Eve. 😒 I guess they are keeping with Captain's Farewell instead of making the sensible change. Also, this is one of the first times we have had New Year's Eve indoors instead of on the Pool Deck; at least for dancing. 630 people in Horizon Lounge should get interesting.
  19. Today is the ninth of ten sea days; there is only one lecture scheduled for today; on algae. Thinking back, a number of the lectures on this trip have been about algae. Miami sure made it hard on the CD. Where is Terry Breen?
  20. But we knew this when we booked the cruise. We scheduled our tour of Manaus on 24th and no tour got 25th because of holiday. Yes, a different schedule would have been better but we knew this in advance.
  21. I strongly concur that this is a Miami issue. Even with lack of entertainment this is a fantastic cruise. The Captain, GM, and F&B are constantly circulating amongst the guests. The food, beverage, butler, and housekeeping staff are all fantastic. Food is fantastic. A fantastic cruise. marc
  22. Never mind, crossing ceremony is this morning.
