Not sure if this has been posted but Rhapsody is doing Pan Canal on Feb 2nd 2021
Where do you see that? I just looked online...there is NOTHING listed for 2021... Panama Canal
Never mind I found that one by searching Rhapsody sailings....but when you search Panama Canal 2021 only...nothing shows.

Is the existing terminal capable of handling an Oasis class ship for a few months if there are construction delays?
No. The channel isn't deep enough. The new terminal will be at the opening (there is a basin there where the ships turn around) of the channel.
The terminal that is there "could" handle the people...but the channel won't allow an Oasis class ship to come that far down...
They had to dredge the channel to bring in the Liberty...

I wouldn't be surprised if the terminal completes whenever and they begin using it for other ships before Allure's arrival.
Maybe, But there is no reason to use it for any other ships.... RCI already has a decent sized terminal there as well as Carnival's terminal... but, like I said...the paperwork hasn't even been settled yet...or at least last I have heard...and no dirt is being moved ….

Just stopped by NextCruise. Allure from Galveston itineraries are loaded in the system but not open for booking yet.
First cruise to be a 4 night in Nov. 2021.
I'm assuming a 2 or 3 day crew only repo followed by a 4 night revenue first cruise.
NextCruise is going to call me if they open during this sailing.
THAT is AWESOME news!! I had heard it was going to be the Allure coming into Galveston!! Now this sounds pretty solid.
But they won't be able (I wouldn't think) to open sailings on the Allure from Galveston until they have final contracts with the port authority & RCI finalized to build the terminal. Negotiations are underway.... but they haven't even begun yet to move any dirt.
Originally that terminal was to be completed in the Spring of '21...but it sounds like now (from your post) it won't be completed until the fall of '21.
THANKS!!!! I am excited!!

Vision does not appear to be doing Panama Canal cruises in 2021. Instead, it is doing 10/11 day Caribbean itineraries throughout the winter. You'll likely have to seek out a different cruise line if you wish to do Panama Canal in 2021. Celebrity should have some once their schedules open.
Well...I'll hold out a little longer...there are other ships that could go thru in Royal's fleet.

Never mind...I'd delete this if I could... sorry..

I’m starting to think they aren’t ever going to release full transit Panama canals for 2021.
Me either! Fingers tapping on the desk....

So much talk about Coastal Kitchen. Is it the best specialty restaurant on the ships?
Food is subjective. Everyone has an opinion. But, I really enjoyed it on Allure in Oct. The food was similar to the MDR food (IMO) only a notch better. I loved the quietness & just the vibe in general. We ate breakfast, lunch & dinner there almost every meal. We ate at Chops (was not impressed)..sent my steak back, it was still mooing! We ate at Johnny Rockets...was NOT impressed at all.

I just had a video chat with my son who is onboard Liberty of the Seas & they docked at Roatan this morning... there is some kind of unrest at the pier. People were blocking the gate to the port area, shouting, pushing, shoving & not letting the shuttles in or the people out! The police arrived & finally got the crowd to disperse.... he said all he could find out was apparently the port area is doing some construction & they are using Mexican Nationals to do the work, so the Roatan people are upset with that. My son couldn't get to his shuttle bus for his excursion, so they went back to the ship. The Cruise Director finally came on over the speaker to say that people could now go thru the gates to enjoy their day in Roatan..my son & family (wife & two young girls) decided they'd just stay onboard as they were afraid they might not be able to get back into the port area later today & who knows what might be happening elsewhere on the island.... it's so sad, because they booked this itinerary just for Roatan to snorkel.... it's their fav port (ours too)… sad. I'd be afraid to go ashore as well...so I think they made a good decision, but it's still sad.

I have searched & searched & cannot find a topic on my question.
Can anyone shed any light on why the Liberty came in around 1:00 am & is scheduled to depart late today in Galveston? My kiddos are sailing today & they got an email the other day saying they will depart late today as there will be divers preforming work on her...Is something wrong with the ship?
TIA

Ok.... just wanted to verify what I felt was the answer!
Thanks all!

Hi all! Just off Allure, we sailed in a suite - SKY class. The suite lounge on THAT ship offered free beer, wine, soda & water daily from 11am-11pm. However that perk was not mentioned on the SKY Class perks list provided in our room.
So my question is concerning my next sailing on the Liberty of the Seas, again sailing in a suite. The suite perks listed online only mention free drinks in the Suite Lounge from 4:30 - 8:00pm.
I am wondering if possibly anyone who has **recently** sailed in a suite on Liberty can speak to whether or not drinks are offered all day (as on Allure) or if they just offer the 4:30-8:00pm drinks benefit.
I had bought the Deluxe Beverage Package on Allure & found I didn't really need it being able to access the Suite Lounge for drinks all day. (I only drink wine). I am trying to decide if I should buy it for my upcoming Liberty cruise.
While I appreciate folks telling me what the benefits are on paper or even on Royal's website...I'd really like to hear from someone with recent experience on that ship.
THANKS in Advance y'all!

Dexter and Usha are the current Allure concierges (and will be for the 9/29 cruise as well).
I never got the usual "welcome" email for the 9/29 cruise, so I sent an email a couple of days ago to both concierge addresses asking if they could handle my CK dinner reservations for the week. I got a reply from Dexter ~18 hours later telling me he had passed my request to CK staff and it would be taken care of.
I got our email on Sunday...& replied right away...he replied last night (Wed.) same as you...passed my dinner reservations to CK staff & it would be handled before we board on Sunday.

That may be true, though the app is wrong sometimes - it generally gets more accurate closer to the sailing date.
I am 4 days out.

Coastal Kitchen also. We just head for the CK and a glass of champagne then lunch while we wait for the staterooms to be available. CK is the only venue specifically for suite and pinnacle guests
THANK YOU!! Exactly what I needed to know!

Yes...that "full transit" is on my bucket list...we are sailing "to" the Panama Canal in March...but not "thru" it.... I want to visit San Diego, so this would be perfect to sail either way (east or westbound).
Just hope they open it soon! This is driving me crazy! LOL
