  1. Ok so I know that Celebrity has mostly non-smoking ships.... smoking is only allowed in designated areas and is not supposed to be allowed on balconies (for those staying in veranda staterooms).

Does anyone know how much this is actually enforced? Especially in regards to people smoking on their balcony? (and I realize that not all guests are as considerate as other guests, every neighbor is always a wild card...always have to factor that into the equation.)

Just curious as I'm allergic to cigarette smoke, and if people tend to break the rules in regards to their veranda staterooms, it would be enough to sway me from getting a veranda stateroom. Is this a reasonable worry or do the guests of Celebrity ships mostly stick to the rules regarding smoking in designated areas??

No smoking permitted on ALL X ships except in designated areas! The policy is enforced if violations are reported to Guest Relations. There are fines and the possibility of removal from the ship.

  2. The picture was for identification of officers in December.

I am awaiting confirmation of new assignments before I try and compile a March edition.

I too appreciate your efforts. It's really impossible to keep the list completely up to date since people are moving every week. I've been onboard many times when a staff member was ordered to a new ship immediately.

  3. Hi Arno. I sat down at this computer just 30 minutes ago. I am sure there were pictures with your chart then. Now there are none. Was I dreaming, delirious, or what?

thanks for all your work keeping the chart current. It is a big help for all of us. So sorry Capt. Pagonis is gone. I was hoping to sail with him in April. Do you know what he is going to do in civilian life?

    Hi to Joanne, Patty

He is currently VP of Operations for Pullmantur. He is now based in Madrid where he wanted to be. I was honored to be at his final Captain's Table on Reflection.o

  4. I very much doubt this as he now works for RCI and is based at their head office in Miami. He's overseeing their 4 new builds.

Julian is going to be HD on the RF from 27th March 13.

The Damien I mentioned is currently Cruise Director on Connie.Spoke to him yesterday and he told me that he'll be going to Reflection for the TA.

    Anne:

Thanks for the update. I'll be on March 4th. Sorry to see that Rose has left. Tasos will take over as Captain during the dry dock in April. He is really looking forward to his first command. Should quickly become a favorite.

  6. I believe I read recently that Sue Richardson is leaving Silhouette soon. Would any of you happen to know who is scheduled to replace her?

    Thanks very much.

    Anne

My understanding is that Sue will be going to Reflection and Bernhard will be returning to Silhouette. Sue told me that she'll be on Reflection on January 26th when I'll be on her. Arno is on ship now and he can confirm.

  7. I wish to thank all recent cruisers for submitting a summary of staff on board. Without your input this thread would be impossible.

Welcome Back! Sue Rihardson told me that she'll be on Reflection when I sail on January 26th. Happy holidays to you and Joanne.

    • The executive chef was Jason from England. I will be talking with celebrity hopefully. I had always heard good things about Constellation. I have had the same food on many other Celebrity ships but the recipes used were not the same as on all other ships. There were also several cost cutting measures with the food. I can provide examples if interested.

Jason is usually quite good. Interested in reading some examples of cost cutting on Connie.Budgets were increased last year and items reappeared including Lobster Tail, Chateaubriand, Lamb Shank and Beef Wellington among others. Perhaps there have been deeper problems on Connie. I know several who were happy to go to other ships after the TA last year.

  8. Just off the 12/20 cruise. I am elite but I totally agree with you. This was the worst Celebrity cruise I have taken. I am so loyal to Celebrity recommending it to family and friends. Hopefully this is an aberration. Food in San Marco restaurant was not cooked according to Celebrity standards often not edible or cold with little presentation. Filled out my comment card.

Who was the Executive Chef? I know that one Executive Chef was dismissed from Connie last year. Hope it improves quickly as I'm onboard in two weeks. On SIL TA and the food was outstanding in all venues.
