Which is rather silly, actually. If they purchase drinks one at a time, they will still have that extra 18% service charge added to their bill. I would guess that when looking over the drink menu to purchase a single drink at a time, they only see the price published next to the line item and not mentally add the gratuity. Human nature is so odd! :D
Think of it as a sales tax.
I would hope that most of those people on a cruise can compute the 18% of any given price or if they can't to round it off to 20%.
and not even suffer it. Don't be shocked when they see it. They are on a cruise for gosh sakes.

Ditto to what PaCruise said. Good advice.

Your willingness to keep him in your cabin until his constant coughing subsides is a very difficult thing to do but extremely considerate of you.
I would not be surprised that many to most cruisers would find a constant hacking in the din somewhat disturbing but feel it is very likely your son's condition will clear up by then, so please have a wonderful cruise. Oh BTW, you have very nice parents.

I always believe it's the journey. Not the destination. That is why we simi plan our trips and keep all of our options open.

I would get rid of the nagging people and the ones that berate the Capt. for going into bad weather. I love sunny weather, I enjoy the rainy weather and if there is no lightning, I will swim. The rougher the sea, the better I enjoy it. Noisy people, I turn off my hearing aides. When the ships power plant konks out, and that did happened to us once for 2 days, I get miffed.

Our MSC cruise to Northern Europe was booked in Nov. 2017 with the deposit paid then.
Full payment is due April 24 for the July cruise.
I thought I had read on the web page that the deposit was non refundable in any time frame.. Apparently this is not the case and I will be getting a refund. I am ok with that. MY bad.
The reason this occurred is we changed our mind on doing a B2B RT from Coph to St Petersburg and then a Coph to Norway with on the same ship with MSC
After canceling MSC, we booked a 14 day RT from Ams to Norway with Holl American.
The bummer of this all is that we are stuck with air travel from the US to COPH and had to book additional flights RT to AMS and back to COPH all because my DW wants more time in AMS.
Newbies, we are not. Spontaneous, absolutely. And that does not come cheap.

Are initial deposits ever refundable if the cruise is canceled 6 weeks after booking? I was thinking it's not but others say it is. I
cant get through to MSC for some reason to ask them because of an excess cookie issue on my PC.

Your post made me antsy as we are getting on the Koningsdam the same day you get off for their 14 day journey. Can't wait!
I hope you have a great cruise and pray for a high pressure system.

Which cruise trip did you book?

Read their fine print again.

I think Frankfurt is was to nasty and it was difficult for us to navigate in the terminal. Worse than Newark use to be.

40% by 60% to the Captains favor.

It's a good practice to have your doc to write your scripts so they can be carried with you on your trip. In the event that your meds are lost or destroyed, you don't have to find a doctor to get new scripts.

Windstar by far! The atmosphere is very 30ish, great food and fewer distractions. Higher cost, but it is very special and worth the price. If you are doing it once, do it right. Otherwise do it average.

I have to concur with Keith. They are everywhere. You can escape them. The pool staff will help if you ask them but the hogs are not going away. This is true for all lines.

How do you know he was a farmer? He did what did because he was inconsiderate or not quite right in the head not because of his occupation:mad: Gee my DH is a farmer and wouldn't dream of doing such a thing.
Why some ignorant people belittle the vocation of farming is beyond me. I wonder what those morons eat everyday.
I know several farmers, and they are all gentlemen. BTW I know lawyers and Drs. that are butt wads.

Your indemnity is covered. Nothing but good times ahead hopefully.

There is no way you can do Rome right in such a short time. HOHO is a good way to just get around and get a feel for what is there. The sound, architecture, the smells, people, shops, fountains and so on. The collisium is about an hour and so is the Senate unless you want to stare at ruins and try to imagine the things that went on there. HOHO will show you the high spots outside. You will have to decide where you want to get off at.
My avatar is taken in the Piazza Navona in Rome.

We are missing so much astonishing beauty almost everywhere that would be free for all in the world because of so much excess lighting and all because of crooks.

Do you want to do the west side of Norway or the east side of Sweden? A trip to SPB is the popular destination in the Baltics.I suggest a cruise that allows 2 days in SPB. as one day is not enough. MSC has some good runs into the Baltics. Your TA is your best bet if you are not sure where you want to go.

So what part of America are we talking about and which continent ?

While we have never been required to show our passport to visit a port of call other than in Alaska, we do carry copies we printed to carry in the event there is an emergency where positive ID would, at the very least, speed things along.

Really? Two bottle of wine in 7 days makes you sound like an alcoholic? If this is the sole basis for the self-diagnosis I think you can write alcoholism off and move forward.
