  1. I have issues with MD and become extremely cramped while flying longer distances. My Dr. gave me an RX for Oxycodon to manage the pain. It was not only great help with the pain but enabled a few good hrs of sleep. Generally, this sleep allows me to keep going after arrival into the new advanced schedule until bed time in my new location.

  2. Cruises for 2018 are not available on all lines yet. Wait a month then they should all be available.

We are taking a 14 day cruise from Southampton to Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Las Canaria...it only has 4 days at sea spread out which we are looking forward to for rest in between ports.

    RCCL Canary and Morocco trip.

What month are you doing yours? We chose the end of June for ours on the Indy. WoW thats a large ship.

  3. Taking a tour in Venice? So unnecessary.

You can spend 2 days easy just catching the museums right around the square the tourture chambers in the Doggs Palace next to St Marks. Hike up the tower and do a gondola ride.Take a ride on the Grand Canal. To be adventurous, take the trip out to Glass Island to watch them blow the glass. Peggy Guggenhiems Studio. Get one of those authentic masks. We bought one but wish we got 3. The Grand Canal ride you will get good explanations of Venice. You will see so much more that way at your own delight.

  4. Get a copy of Rick Steves' Mediterranean Cruise Ports, written for those who want to DIY their ports. Kotor is usually - but not always - a tender port. Just walk right into the old city. It is charming. We took the ship shuttle (fee) to/from Corfu and just walked around. Took the train into Rome and did a lot of walking. Took the 'Florence on your own' bus to Florence and walked all over. On his website, Rick Steves' has free audio tours to download for ipod/mp3 and maps to print out to go along with them. I hope you are spending more than a day in Venice before your cruise. there is so much to see there, and it is very walkable. EM

    HI Essiemom.

    Quick question please.

How did you enjoy the Davina.

I wanted to pm you about this topic but couldn't.

No, I don't know you but we are doing that cruise in May

So I apologize for my intrusion if you take it as such.

  5. We just got back from our 14 day trip to Spain with a 7 day cruise included and had a fine time in Barcelona. We arrived at the AP about 10;30 am. Stored our luggage at our hotel. Because we had to board the ship at 2 the next day we kept it easy and did some walking around mid town and checked out the beautiful buildings ,fountains and sat in a few sidewalk cafe's sipping Shangria. If you are walking up to the park, I hope you are if decent physical shape. Picasso museum and the Barcelona cathedral are pretty close together and would work in your time frame. I suppose it depends on how long you look at things. That evening we took in Flemico show with a good Tapas dinner. La Rambla was a bust for us.

No matter what you decide, have a wonderful time.

  6. Hello everyone. I hope you don't mind my piggy backing on this thread but don't see a thread for sailing out of our port of departure. My wife and I are on Epic May 15-21 Barcelona to Barcelona and are looking forward to a nice relaxing trip. I am retired so I could use a break.

We did Eastern Med last year and really enjoyed that one. I do have some reservations about booking this cruise as it goes to some ports we did before last year. That's ok as there are always more museums to see.

I want to stop in France just to have some of the bread and wine again. :D as I lived in France before so it will be sort of du ja vous for me. Any port of call will do.

I can remember seeing some Frenchmen riding home from work on their bicycle and stopping by the bakery. Once outside they hopped on their bike Before taking off they tucked the loaf of bread under their armpit and off they rode home. Such memories.

I hope you have a great time on your trip. Times getting shorter.

  7. Your number is very close to what I was getting pp/pd. Around $10. A very good perk for sure.

My accounting was wrong about the 13% service charge .

I understand what you are saying about that taxes and service charges are not included and are always there. Now that I know we have police here, I will watch my choice of words better.

Thank you so very much for pointing out that I may skip the Free Drink perk if the policy bothers me. I never considered that.

I do consider all taxes and service charges an expense and that is my freedom I believe.

  8. We did the Grand European Budapest to Amsterdam in the last week of May and the first week on June. 2013 The weather was perfect for us. No rain at all. I did notice that it got cooler the closer we got to Holland. Must have been the windmills.

  9. Love the idea of doing extra days in 2 cities. We were really wanting to do Rome so had been really looking at the cruises that started and finished there. Do you know if it is difficult to find flights flying into one city and then departing out of a different city without paying a healthy premium?

Trains are a good deal in Italy and are a great way to hotfoot it back to your departure airport. Gives you so much more flexibility.

  10. It is pretty much routine to see someone in a group to arrive at the pool while others head to breakfast and spread books, suntan oil, shoes, ect. around to get everyone in their party a chair. Then they hop over to join their group and eat. The first one finished heads back to the pool to insure they are not evicted . I am guilty of that and I am sorry to have to admit it. So many others do the same thing. If you want a chair it leaves you no choice . It is self perpetuating, Kind of like driving 80 on the interstate. I am not justifying this practice by any means, C'est la vie.
