  1. It was an opinion, given and not up for debate as far as I;m concerned.
  2. So call it a medical issue, which it is and if pushed, describe it as a digestion disorder.
  3. I’m flattered, thank you but my restaurant knowledge is of QG, but anything to do with disability, I’ll try and help. I like to think I tell it how it is around the ship rather than how I would like it to be and I dislike any any form of 'social discrimination' for want of a better phrase, and dress disdain for those who don’t attain some folks 'standards'.
  4. Good. It's all very well for social media to say ‘you’ll be ok', but if it’s a make or break your holiday scenario, then belt and braces is the way to go. At least, it is for us.
  5. Megabear2 if needed, try this Accessibility@carnivalukgroup.com>
  6. As has been said, the likelihood is a two top will probably be available but looking at the table plans [which of course are only impressions and can change cruise to cruise] two tops don't seem to be in favour. Probably doesn't cut it and so my advice to Megabear2 is to get in touch with Cunard, either through your agent or direct and ask to speak to the disability/accessibility [whatever the title is] department and explain there are difficulties when eating. No need to go into detail other than it's awkward and possibly embarrassing. That could cover a multitude of issues. Get your request acknowledgement in writing and when you board, if not satisfied, you can show any email trail to the M'd. Leaving it to chance,* for this important a health issue, is chancy
  7. Quite. If a change can be facilitated, it will be without any aid of 'the before'. If it became known a M'd was receptive to 'befores', I doubt he would last too long in the job. To indicate 'thanks' would be forthcoming if change could be facilitated is demeaning to the role of a M'd. To show gratitude at the end of the cruise is a personal matter.
  8. I tried not too be too apparent about it. I obviously tried😃 too hard!
  9. As was I. We have had this same issue in the past and it was unnecessary and uncalled for then, as it was today, website or not.
  10. Good heavens, where has this come from? I agree with you, 100%
  11. Never having used the option, I wouldn't 100% like to say but I would have thought so but there is no actual 'dry' cleaning as such onboard. The company is at pains to stress it's a sort of 'wet' kind of cleaning, as mentioned on the laundry list. If an article suddenly needs dry cleaning on our short [two/three week] trips, then I wait until we get home, so I do try not to spill my soup on delicate silks! 🙂
  12. Don't be. Everyone has opinions but some are more extreme than others. Go with an open mind and have a wonderful time.
  13. I remember getting slated when I said chaps removed their jackets on certain very hot evenings way before 'the changes'. 'No, that's not allowed/doesn’t happen' came from a few. Well it did and staff allowed and encouraged it where we were sitting. My opinion at the time was ‘how sensible' for those about to expire in the heat, but it was a fact. because it happened. A fact dismissed as almost fiction by one or two, but it was a fact and I gave my opinion.
  14. That is very true and I for one don't particularly like the tweaks happening on Cunard now but there is a difference between bemoaning the past and letting it colour a realistic view on present day Cunard. As was stated by exlondoner, there are facts in situations which are/aren't adhered to but then there are impressions which form opinions, and opinions are subject to experiences and expectations which is why there are some folk whose opinions I value, and those whose opinions I read and take with the proverbial pinch of salt. The trick is to discern which is which. 🙂
  15. Absolutely which is why, in order to be able to evaluate opinions, it helps to have some background experience of those giving of their opinions. Those of Cunard 'old school' experience are possibly not going to be as appreciative of the tweaks now apparent, post Covid and before, and opinions might well be coloured by their reminiscences and regret of changes on present day Cunard.
  16. Hattie is correct and it's extremely efficient. For us, we give the laundry to the butler when breakfast is delivered and it's back, usually around five'ish and definitely before dinner.
  17. We all have different attitudes to life, can't help it as its human nature whatever life has thrown at us, but taking that phrase for example, it helps to have an insight into any reviewer's attitudes and experiences to life and other people when taking varied accounts and reviews into consideration. That is why, I need to 'know' the person before I give real credence to opinions.
  18. I was going to answer this by saying if the medical centre doesn't have the required medication, they can ask their Port Agent to facilitate the request from a pharmacy at the next port if the port is of a size to have a good pharmacy but then I noticed the itinerary and unfortunately, there aren't any pharmacies mid Atlantic unless a stop at The Azores is on the itinerary!☹️ Edit No one can say for certain what the medical centre stocks but I would be surprised if some steroids weren't available. What I do know is I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable cost of a medical centre visit in July and the excellent price of the medication.
  19. I have logged into all my bookings and the prices of the drinks options hasn't changed, yet. I wonder if we will get notification of any changes, not that it would affect us.
  20. I think it's how 'your' brain is wired. I can't help naming music [classical] just as my brain makes words out of car number plates! Sad or what! 😕
  21. Neither do we. The package is getting expensive though, nevertheless
  22. Baroque is my favourite music era and I too have quite a collection, records from my youth and CDs. I'm a 'name that tune' addict, can't help it, especially from bars of music, although my knowledge is limited to listening [and singing] rather than any tertiary education in the subject. I enjoy soft background music. We are all different. 🙂
  23. Mandolin concerto and L'estro...definitely. Two trumpets too. Edit Most folk associate Vivaldi with Spring and then Summer [Four Seasons] and probably wouldn't necessarily be aware of other work.
  24. Vivaldi does have a few more scores to his bow than Four Seasons.
