  1. I love the formal nights and would be happy to have two a week/four a fortnight etc. I follow my 'two' rule for evening wear. Formal [usually a long dress but not a casual maxi or an ultra formal gown] and 'other' which would probably have been deemed 'semi formal' in the past. Mind you, during the day, I'm a scruffy mutt as I wear jeans, long or cut offs, white or blue denim. 😄
  2. A holiday was put in peril due to a BA strike so it was sort of our 'Cunard moment'. Consequently, not tried BA, First or Business since, as we don't need the angst of will they/won't they fly.
  3. The downside though is flying BA!😄 Have a safe flight and I'm sorry you were caught up in what has been a confusing time.
  4. No, just got my brain going for a suitable reply!!😁 It it is marvellous to see the company gearing up for a return to normal, even if the normal is a new normal. If ever on the same QA or QV cruise, you must pop in for drinks. We're always up for visitors. 🙂
  5. Thank you. I think! 🙂 I had to smile at the Debbie Downer moniker because the way I champion the Cunard brand, I would have thought Ursula Upper would be more appropriate! 😄 But then in some eyes, I'm probably Non U with my 'radical' thoughts how Cunard needs to stay relevant/in business whilst still maintaining the bones of it's USP. Either way, a smile burns more calories than a frown so let's all smile. 🙂
  6. Where was it parked? If in a legitimate place and they had no need to move it, if it happened on a S'ton based cruise, I'd take Cunard to a small claims court.
  7. Not a DD at all. If it had been a hard back Year Book such as those kindly shown in the photograph above, it would have been kept. I'm rather fond of those ever since we started being worthy of them. As it was, The Cunarder was read and then discarded as it isn't/wasn't the sort of publication we would pick up and read again and it wasn't coffee table stuff so why bother keeping it. If anyone celebrates Cunard getting back to some kind of normal, with seven booked cruises I think I can safely say we do even if we don't attend the mass cocktail receptions. 🙂
  8. Cunard were contractually obliged to 'look after' QM2 and QV existing passengers' onward travel as their plans had been interrupted. Plus, if UK package rules are the same in the US, those who had a complete Cunard package for joining the ship for the TA as their travel plans had also been interrupted. However much morally it would be seen as doing the right thing, as far as I can see [and I would be more than pleased to be proved incorrect here] they were not obliged to sort out any 'overnighters' with non Cunard pre cruise arrangements as their travel with Cunard hadn't started. I don't follow social media but I suppose unless a breakdown of passengers' travel arrangements, i.e. independent or totally Cunard booked can be made, it's somewhat difficult to wade through all the confusion.
  9. If we hadn't been Cunarding soon, I'd have dragged him on it, subject to us getting a cabin we liked. I can stomach Mary for that length of time and I think this will be a fabulous cruise, and why not boozy, elegantly so of course!😁
  10. Was it a year book? Hardly coffee table worthy. Anyway, it was paper bin collection day so both of us read it, quickly and it went in the bin. 🙂
  11. When my husband heard of this new itinerary, the cynic that he is said 'Booze Cruise'! 😄
  12. Bound to annoy but ours was given a quick read then binned.
  13. As this issue has been discussed on this Cunard board, the judgemental aspect mentioned by at least two of us, refers to this board and not a f2f aspect. With regards to f2f, I completely agree with you. I cannot imagine some of the very strong views espoused on this board over the years with regards to what's proper and what isn't, would ever be said to any individual annoying the affronted person. It isn't passengers' right to be the Dress Police however much they'd like to be.
  14. I wasn't alluding to people watching. Judging sartorial attire has long been a sport on this board, but, as I said, by the few and not the many. 🙂
  15. Being judgemental seems to be a sport for some. They obviously get some enjoyment out of it. Luckily, very few participate. 😄
  16. I got up to payment on the the Meet and Greet but obviously, didn't go further. Interesting it let me get to that stage.
  17. Always. Most definitely, always.👍
  18. Try booking. I just did a dummy run and they were ready to take my payment.
  19. In the past, after check in, we sat in the area for Grills passengers and then someone came to us and escorted us onto the ship. However, last August, we boarded with QG passengers. No cabin differentiation. Not a problem. 🙂 This has been or Vista experience, maybe QM2 will be different?
  20. Have you tried CPS? That's the company we always book with.
  21. It's common practice MT. The only fly in the ointment is on itinerary/ies release date, no transfers are, or weren't for us, allowed and as there are only a couple of cabins available we want to book and which often sell out on release we book within the first minute of release and as a consequence, we still have a cruise booked we have no intention of taking. Never mind, it was booked on board so minimum deposit paid.
  22. Until a 'suit' or an official notification informs us, this is all speculation.
  23. Nothing new. When schedules are announced ahead of open booking, the price of the basic grade of each category is shown, as in this case with the booking going live at the appointed date and hour which in this case, is tomorrow. Admittedly, it's usually listed on the 'main' list of itineraries but as this is a sort of shake down/ 'let's hope the Old Girl works' cruise, it gets preferential stand alone treatment. Good luck to all who hope to book. If she works, it will be a fabulous few days and the price...utter WOW! 🙂
  24. Luckily, all CC sartorial edicts can, or should, be read with a pinch of salt. If a chap cares enough to want to know if his dinner jacket is the righter shade of pale [Procul Harum anyone?] then that's good enough for me. 🙂 As I might have mentioned, faux pas at that level are in the eye of the beholder and not the wearer.😄
  25. A wonderful short cruise for those able to slot it in and absolutely amazing prices. Go for it if you can! 👍
