  1. I’m currently on Holland America’s Nieuw Statendam, thanks to a heavily discounted casino offer for a slot tournament. I simply could not turn down a 1 in 400 chance of winning $100K, and I’m really sorry that I’ve strayed. Virgin has really spoiled me with its excellent food and friendly service. I can’t even get something as a simple as a lemonade brought to my table at the buffet before I’m done eating. If I was paying full price, I’d be pissed. Maybe that explains the grumpiness Ive noticed from other guests.
  2. Those same shore side employees will screw up the first embarkations for other lines as well.
  3. The very first embarkation is a shambles, who’s surprised here? Could happen to any line. Hope you find a cruise line that makes you happy. enjoy your cruise
  4. Thanks for the live. Wishing you a safe trip home now, as I'm boarding a HAL ship tomorrow and refuse to pay $130 for 7 days of wifi. 🤣 I feel guilty not sailing with Virgin, but HAL is hosting a slot tournament for about 700 of us, and the top prize is $100K. I figured the odds are better than winning the lottery, but I just know the food and shows will not be anywhere near Virgin's quality.
  5. Booking a higher category would have avoided this problem.
  6. Yes....the one on the left, (Bubbles) is from the recent TA, and the other (Mrs. Ed) is from the Valiant last February. The newer ones are a quarter inch thinner than the original ones. I only noticed because of the fit of the champagne cages I used for harnesses.
  7. WOW! that's a lot! There were a couple of folks on the TA who thought they were going to score one for $25-$50. I don't think they were very happy when they all went for $300-$400
  8. One of our favorite activities to participate in. $3800 is a lot of money...those seahorses must have sold for around $600 each.
  9. They assign cabins when booking online, but you can call and have it changed. We always give our travel agent a specific cabin number to book, as we really love the location.
  10. They had quite the spread for crew too crew-chow.MP4
  11. The app can be glitchy at times, especially it seems on the first day things are available. You still have plenty of time before everyone else can book, and as a Mega, you really have nothing to worry about. Your "agent" will get you into anything you'd like. You can also call or email for help with your dining reservations if you'd feel better about getting it done re-cruise.
  12. Yes, you will get an email....and then you will see Deep Blue Extras added to your booking online, and on the app. For the app, click on "me" and then "Add-ons"
  13. in 1999 our very first cruise was with Regent (then named, Radisson Seven Seas). We weren't sure if we'd like cruising, so we figured if we were going to be miserable, it was going to be in style. 🤣 We were young & dumb. 🤣 Not our style at all.
  14. We've bought the annual GeoBlue policy for the past 4 or 5 years. Thankfully, we've never had to use it.
  15. There was a group picture posted somewhere on Instagram with the whole cast, and both of them were in it.
  16. They are apparently getting ready to move her to Palermo, to finish the interior.
  17. This is so much more welcoming compared to the other lines who simply list an un-hosted solo meet-up in one of the lounges. It's a wonderful reminder of why we love VV so much.
  18. And not a single upside picture in the bunch! 🤣 Congrats! 🤣 What's for dinner!?
  19. We always get the Boar's Head Italian....one sub is enough for both of us. Glad you enjoyed it!
  20. We get subs from there every time we stay at the Novotel across the street.
  21. At one point, he was supposed to be on the TA from Barcelona. I hope he's still on when we board in May.
