  1. We were on the 4-night Silhouette & the following 10-night Silhouette. Luggage Valet wasn’t offered for the 4-night but was offered on the 10-night. We took advantage of the service, $29pp, 2 bags pp allowed, no airline fees as we flew first class. I’m so glad this service has been reinstated, I had a nasty fall & lugging luggage would’ve been near to impossible.
  2. We just got off, the shampoo was in (Bigelow) in large squirt containers, not wall mounted. Dryer was a handheld in a drawer
  3. Kid was lucky the flight was delayed & you were able to get it to him. I agree, there are definite benefits to living close to an Olympic Training Center
  4. Thanks so much. Same surgeon tgst did my hiatal hernia & ventral wall hernia. He’d the chief of robotic surgery at our teaching hospital .
  5. Laurie we had this discussion several years ago. We each had big term policies when kids were little. We’ve converted both to paid up whole life policies (no more insurance payments). The whole life policies continue to earn dividends. With our pensions, & savings we don’t need big insurance policies. Both of our pensions have survivor benefit plans too. Les has his gallbladder surgery tomorrow afternoon Melody
  6. I’ve used silk long johns for travel pjs for years & years. Wintersilks last forever!
  7. Well, I definitely have surgery in my future, big surgery. I’m having a reverse total shoulder replacement the 8th of April. Went to ortho. I said so a cortisone shot & I’m good to go? He looked at Les like I was crazy & said no, that shoulder is pretty much destroyed. Sigh, I’m really going to be bionic!! Had to wait till Les has recovered from the gallbladder before I can get it done (one if us needs to be able to drive!) I should be good to go to our entire family vacation in Hawaii in June. Doc did say no paddleboarding 😢 I was really looking forward to that, but I’ll be able to watch everyone else. Melody
  8. Don’t wait for a warm day. I wear sunscreen every single day
  9. I have 4 of this hat…I like colors
  10. Full thickness massive tear including another full thickness tear across original surgery that was in 2011. I’m over 70. The doc said another rotator cuff (with shredded bicep tendon) repair he’d give maybe a 10-20% success rate he’s giving a 75-80% on reverse shoulder
  11. Well I met with my ortho today. He looked at the mri & report & turned around to look at me & said, you really messed your shoulder up, didn’t you. I said, so a cortisone shot & Im good? He looked over at Les & said she’s kidding, right? Les said ,no she’s serious. Doc said, that won’t work a bit, I’m recommending a reverse total shoulder replacement; a rotator cuff repair will not hold, there’s too much damage. So right now I’m scheduled for 8 April, he wanted to do it next week but Les is having gall bladder surgery on Monday (with at least a 2 week recovery) & one of us needs to be able to drive! If he gets released to drive we’ll try to push it up a bit (of course doc is on vacation last week of March). I should be good to go for Hawaii in June, but no paddleboard for me. Sigh. Melody
  12. We booked a Feb 25 cruise on Celebrity Eclipse (cause I want to do the glass blowing), nice 10-night in an aft suite. Instead of a b2b we’ll fly into Ft Myers, rent a car, visit friends & family a couple of days & mosey across Alligator Alley, spend one night in FLL & fly home out of FLL after the cruise.
  13. For those of you that shop Chicos. This dress (with pockets) is on final sale. It’s $9.98. Kat don’t buy larger than a 1, maybe even a zero. This is a great travel dress, no wrinkles & pockets. I bought this in the pink awhile back & it’s very comfy (& roomy). For this price I bought the navy. I plan on wearing it with a denim jacket for our June flight. Don’t wait too long, it’ll sell out today. Melody
  14. Janet, hope you’re feeling better by the time this is posted. I stopped receiving posts on Thursday. yay Lois, glad you booked a cruise. If you’re in a suite the suite host should be able to get you on a Vineyard tour. Enjoy Luminae restaurant (suite restaurant). I envy you that immense balcony. hopefully I’ll receive my mri results early this week, no improvement there. Les has his gallbladder surgery next Monday afternoon. Melody
  15. Kat, I know I don’t have to tell you, but document every word of that conversation. He should not be a manager
  16. Well, we’re home from our b2b. I took a nasty fall on day 3 of 14 & messed up my surgically repaired shoulder. MRI yesterday. We still had a fabulous time with great friends. Les is having gallbladder surgery on 11 March following all the tests in January. We’re looking at a couple of cruises for next winter but haven’t settled in on one/two yet
