  1. On the Crown last month the wait for food at the grill was all of maybe 5 minutes with pagers. It does prevent long lines waiting for food
  2. Should be either not weirder. Darn autofill
  3. I haven’t signed a chit in ages. When I have a wine over $15 they just bill me for the difference plus 18%. Nothing to sign
  4. I actually found a really nice Zin that fit under the plus package
  5. If most of the drinks goes on one account then for people like us who enjoy drinks will run out before dinner. Not to be nosey but why won’t she go to the bar ? We sit at the bar almost exclusively
  6. If you are going to bring in more than 1 bottle per adult at embarkation that would be above the allowed amount You will have to pay corkage on all additional bottles or smuggle them on board. If caught you could lose the bottles
  7. Plus packages gives you a 25% discount on bottles
  8. The website show me the year and ship of all cruises I don’t need to remember which cabin. Nowadays we book weirder Vista or Penthouse suites so we are pretty conversant about their setups
  9. I understand what you say about non cruisers. We have gotten into conversations with people and when they ask how many cruises we haven taken we get reactions like “50 cruises are you kidding”
  10. I have always found the officers very interactive and interesting. The food is one of best meals I believe you can have on board a ship. I do find that a few diners like to brag about number of cruises and how much they know but mostly ignore them
  11. On the Crown last month the cutoff for MTG was around 700 days
  12. We both travel with plus packages. On the last 2 cruises on the Crown they recommended sharing one charcuterie plate for both of us. That meant in a 16 day cruise we could eat there 4 times
  13. We tend to frequent the same bars at the same times on 14 plus day cruises. They quickly know how we like things.
  14. We travel with plus and there are some very nice wines at Vines either in the $15 limit or just over. These wines are not usually available in other bars
  15. At Vines they will make you give up the nice glasses and take a heavier glass. At least on the Crown in January
  16. We could never eat that early. That is not even cocktail time
  17. Most Princess ships do not have a dedicated sports bar but big events may be viewed at various venues such as the casino or sometimes a lounge also via stateroom TV
  18. I understand how you feel but I was also upset to not be able to get into sushi bars or Alfredo’s without hours waiting timel
  19. Just a note sailings out of SF seem to have a very high threshold. It seems there are a lot of people who only like to cruise out of SF. When we sail from Seattle and Vancouver we seem to have a better shot
  20. Alaska is the easiest because it is such a one time experience for so many. As we used to say it attracts the newly wed and the nearly dead. We have 500 days and never expect anything our last cruise had a cutoff of 700 days.
  21. You are just like us. I can count on one hand minus a few fingers how many times I have used the service. Plus the fact that in the cruise I cannot specify how I want my drink made. Woodford Manhattan light vermouth stirred no shaken. By day 3 the bartenders know what we drink and we don’t even have to say anything especially for our pre dinner drinks
  22. I can walk up to a bar on lido and have a drink in my hand in less than 5 minutes. No way would I wait 20 minutes
  23. Just my 2 cents. If you book with the so called future cruise group on board be ready to get a real Princess CVP to fix up all the mistakes they will make. We spent over 5 hours just to get them to get an original cruise back after they promised us a better rate and then couldn’t deliver
  24. We only have a few courses app, main course and maybe dessert with coffee. Usually in and out in around an hour or a little more
