  1. On the Royal you do not get an escort to your suite but you will get an escort to the covid ward on dolphin should you get sick. Although you will have to pack all you stuff up yourself
  2. No reactions at all and my wife is a lung cancer survivor. We did have to stop a few of our regular meds It looks like a lot of cases came on with people from the land tour prior to the southbound leg
  3. Off the ship now. Easily at least 500 or more covid cases. The line to get off wound all the way around prom deck at least twice. There was also several hundred who never got on board in Whittier due to positive tests
  4. The medical center will send you a separate accounting with medical codes to make filling out the claim forms. We have done this before for other illness
  5. that should be a criminal act. You infect someone who dies and that is called manslaughter
  6. Blood draw plus tests Plus prescription around $1,200 USD. We will be filing for reimbursement from our health plan when we get home
  7. When promised are in writing including masks being required on this particular cruise Princess must be held to account. These things should be major news stories
  8. How about because Princess promised us FCC !!!
  9. We are having an opposite experience here in our Covid hell. Once we got our Paxlovid prescription we never heard from Medical again. Passenger service will not answer any questions and has stopped answering any of our calls now. We have no idea of how tomorrow will play out but I can tell you one thing how are they going to make me wear a mask ??
  10. It probably doesn’t help that 40% of cruisers on these cruise are first timers
  11. I think the difference is that this ship is over run with covid cases. Medical services has not checked in on since the got us Paxlovid. Guest services is useless we port tomorrow and have no idea of any process. Our food orders are almost always incorrect and sometimes they do not even send 2 sets of utensils. When I called for another I was told it would take 1/2 hour to find someone allowed to come to covid zone. I also believe they have more cases than they have contracted rooms for and we are all having to find rooms ourselves from a list they gave and hope we will be reimbursed someday
  12. Required and it was in writing. Staff just will not enforce saying to us “when we try to enforce we get cursed at. If we try and hand them a mask they throw it back at us
  13. Because a lot of us do not fly to Vancouver we use land transport. Plus the food amenities at an airport property are not close to those downtown
  14. Dolphin. Looks like the port side is all covid cases
  15. No they try and push you out to the airport. I don’t want to put anyone at risk until I am no longer infected
  16. 6 more days. Then find our way back home
  17. Royal Princess Aug 20 - Sep 3. First day out captain announced masks were required indoors. 95% refused to mask. Crew and officers would not enforce. Told me there would be too much screaming and yelling if they tried. What happened ? Guess what an outbreak occurred including us. We masked except when eating or drinking but still got covid. In isolation wing which seems to stretch the entire port side of dolphin deck. Crew could care less about you. No communication No help from anyone. There are so many ill that medical doesn’t even check in you after you are isolated and they want you to make your own hotel arrangements since they don’t have enough rooms booked In addition they will tell you that their arranged rooms were $500 CSD per day if you can’t afford you are on your own What more can I say after 43 Princess cruises in 30+ years
  18. Who knows we have a life back home and pet sitters ready to go on their own vacations. The biggest issue is lack of communication. You test positive have 1 hour to pack up and then are dumped in a cabin in the “red zone”. Yes the signs say red zone and you can’t leave your cabin. Then nothing but food deliveries. You are treated like a pariah. When you ask if they are going to arrange a hotel you are asked if you can pay $500 CDN per night
  19. They are telling us that there is a very high number of covid patients on board and if there are not enough hotels then people may have to finish the isolation on board and then somehow make their way home from Whittier
  20. This cruise seemed much more lax than a cruise I took in April on the Majestic. On that trip more than half the passengers masked. People seem to believe that Covid is over just want to let people know that is not the case. Worse thing is we will miss MTP lunch tomorrow. It was the best food on the cruise last week
  21. Yes we have started Paxlovid. Had to get blood tests to make sure our liver and kidneys were in good shape first. Will have to get reimbursed from my Medicare Advantage plan through my medical provider
  22. We and a friend who were in2 different cabins have all tested positive for Covid 9 days into a 14 day cruise. Isolation area is pretty much full up from what we can see with breakfast dishes at every stateroom within site. We will now have to be transferred to hotels in Vancouver to finish out the required 10 day isolation required by Canada. I firmly believe if Princess had kept to there printed protocols and required indoor masking that we would very likely not be sick. This was a Vancouver round trip so FAQ showed masks required. 90% of passengers were not wearing masks at all. We are fully vaccinated and double boosted so this could happen to to anyone. We are now on Paxlovid and this much worse than the ordinary cold. Night sweats very common.
