  1. Where did you buy that car? Even when my buddy owned a car dealership he wouldn't allow me to buy our cars with AMEX. Just the deposits.
  2. If you were a Blue Jays fan I'd follow your adventure. But the Tigers? 🤢 Do you root for the Lions too - the Detroit ones or the BC ones over your Roughriders too? 😱 Have a great cruise. As a Tiger's fan you need it! 😉
  3. In addition to the UK, Queen Elizabeth was also the head of state for Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu. That little lady got around! 😉
  4. Cincy was 6 and a half point favorites so I won well before the Steelers did! 😁 But that was a wild finish.
  5. And ,of course, we all know that famous first baseman was not really named "Who". Don't we? 🙂
  6. I actually met Buzz Aldrin's emotional support animal on a cruise once. Nice dog but way too yappy for me. 🐕 Does that count? Lizzy's two pups were much more reserved. 😁
  7. The big guy upstairs is a huge hockey fan. You might have to spend some time in the penalty box before he let's you in. 😉
  8. We have become big fans of carry on only air travel post Covid but I'd still use the porters on a cruise. Not because of the hassle of luging around 2 small bags to the windjammer but it's the third one Mrs. Dawg would have bought, and filled to the brim, in the port city the day before embarkation. 😲
  9. Funny, my ouija board says "Take the Steelers" today. 😉
  10. We actually carried our bags onto a 3 day cruise once. The bags were just carry on ones and we just went to the buffet and had lunch. Even with small carry on bags the hassle wasn't worth it, hence the once.
  11. Well technically the OP could drop the bags off at Guest Services. But their cabin will be ready well before they got in sight of the counter. 🔭
  12. I had my picture taken with Sidney Crosby at some corporate function years ago. Couldn't tell if he was real or a wax likeness. 🤔
  13. Don't Cancel - just yet anyways. Try to find a similar itinerary. If you find one, ask of that cruise line forum about the entertainment. You might find one with entertainment that is to your liking. If you do, but the cruise is more expensive, only you can answer the question as to whether the entertainment is worth the extra money. Good Luck.
  14. No POTUS but I did meet the Canadian Prime Minister once. Not the current one, but his dad way back when dad was the PM. Also met Jr's mother a couple of years ago. Impressive lady. Also met Shatner years ago when I was a kid. He was filming some Cop show near our house and I got his autograph. I've met lots of other sports celebs but they were mostly from from hockey and Canadian football so most are not international celebrities. The most famous would have to be Wayne Gretzky his dad Walter. I did get to meet my childhood idol, Jonny Bower (Maple Leafs goalie great!) before his passing a few years ago. He didn't disappoint!
  15. Thanks for quoting me but when did I post that? Did you resurrect a thread from 2012? 🤔
  16. Yes I remember! But that means I also remember how to use an abacus and navigate the ship with only a sextant! It just means we're OLD! 😁
  17. This is not unique in any way. Mrs. Dawg has many managers report to her at work and they in turn manage lots of staff each. The planning mantra now at her work is if an employee goes of for a week on vacation plan for them to be off 2 weeks. One for the vacation and one for Covid. Most of the staff are younger, in their twenties and early thirties and they are definitely not social distancing on their vacations. They are going to weddings, partying with their friends, meeting new people, having a great time, and bang - Covid! Her work is actually banning employees from taking vacation the week or two before an important deadline because the staff might be back from vacation but they will miss the deadline because they are off sick.
  18. That's why having two kids in IT really helps. I just ask one of them.🙂
  19. My world travelling son just told me about the new thing (to me anyways) - esims. Digital Sim cards, not physical. He uses MoGo for U.S., European and Asian travels. Much cheaper than my Telus or Bell's roaming plans. Of course, he didn't tell me about them until after I got back from my recent golfing trip down to the States. Telus charged me $60 for 5 days. A esim plan would have cost me 7 bucks!
  20. I actually like it that they have the chutzpah to do that. 18% is kinda yesterday's thinking, so why not nudge the passengers for a bit more. Hey, I learnt the hard way to never wait for my boss to offer me a raise or a promotion, I had to go in and ask for it (a couple of times I had to demand it!)! Also, I never pay the listed 'retail' price. If it's important enough I'll negotiate (ask for) a lower price. As Mahatma Ghandhi said: “If you don't ask, you don't get." 😉
  21. 😁 I just tip 20% of what they charged me for the meal. I don't care if it's listed somewhere at $50. If they charged me $25 I would tip $5. Same thing with sales taxes. We pay 13% in Ontario but I pay 13% on the price I paid, not the quoted 'retail' price - and I never pay retail on anything important. 😉 Premier Ford and Prime Minister Trudeau would love for me to pay the sales tax on the retail price but I have to disappoint them on a regular basis. 😭

  23. Aren't the good people at Royal just SO kind to us? Relieving us of the awful burden of figuring out the gratuity ourselves. They must know we all loose all our math skills when on vacation. How considerate of them.💖 🤮
