Same thing on the cruise before yours Ford Lauderdale to LA, I am not sure if it is fleet wide but the Emerald Maitre D's are not holding any sort of standards in the MDRs.
About the same speed as us 30 days ago, the Captain is in no hurry, you should be out the other side by about 6 PM then drop anchor for the night before Puerto Amadore tomorrow.
Anyone else miss the blue cloth tote bags they used to give out? We still have a few and always bring them onboard with us to tote things around in. We always get asked where we got them. You can’t get them anymore that I can see, it would be nice if they at least had them available to buy.
They do have sommeliers in MDR, however I also noticed that our regular was also working in the IC, the kitchen and up at the coffee shop by cones on emerald during the day.
I remember having issues once after eating bad food, when I went to the ships med center I asked if it might be noro. She asked me if I made it to the toilet, when I said yes, she said no it’s not noro 😳
One thing I did not mention, it is entirely up to you but I would suggest being up to date on your Covid and Flu shots, RSV shot if you can get it. There were more than a few people coughing on the ship and a few people were confined to cabin while they got rid of it. No major infection protocols onboard but you don’t want your vacation ruined by being stuck in your cabin. We definitely caught something (not Covid) as we both had stuffed sinuses after getting home.
I can’t remember seeing an espresso machine in the buffet, you could always order it on the app for delivery but it would be quicker to grab one on the way in.
