  1. With cruises under 5 days, there’s a smaller risk folks onboard will experience COVID symptoms before they get off the ship. They will find out a day or two after getting home. If you start with these cruises and the theory holds, no super spreaders on board, then you can slowly open it up. Longer cruises open up the possibility of folks experiencing symptoms and ending up in isolation, turning it into a super spreader event. It also puts the crew at greater risk, meaning, they too become sick and can’t look after passengers. Remember, they get tested often.
  2. FYI for those looking to test ahead of your cruise. I'm in the Miami area and Nomi Health is a big COVID testing provider that works at the County and State levels. Their response to my inquiry is below, as to whether or not testing would be covered for travel purposes and if not, related costs: "As long as you have a domestic address regardless of insurance, testing is free through Nomi in Miami-Date. Just bring identification or proof of address. If you do not have a domestic address, but have insurance, bring your proof of insurance and testing will be free. If you do not have a domestic address, and no insurance, the fee for a PCR test is $75 and the rapid antigen test is $50." You can schedule appointments with them via their website, including additional details regarding locations and testing. Hope this helps those in the area as testing for travel is no longer free in most places and is quite an expense.
  3. Have an Ocean Suite for an upcoming Carnival Horizon cruise. When there’s 4 in the room, where does the 4th person sleep? Is there a pullman or rolling in bed or does the couch expand to sleep two?

  5. I’ll be on at the end of July, did you get to try teppanyaki? Which spaces were hot? Seems to be an ongoing complaint lately.
  6. They are building a new terminal to handle the larger ships such as Celebration.
  7. We cruise in July and it will be hot in the Caribbean, I hope there's no A/C issues, that would really suck. I was on Horizon for a 2 day cruise when she first arrived to Miami, it was an ice bucket. Not sure if what people are complaining about now has to do with COVID. Meaning, they are pumping in more outside air and as a result, common areas will easily heat up. Was it any better a night?
  8. Equinox is in port, docking at the moment.
  9. Here's a satellite image of what's left of the storm.
  10. The storm is falling apart and there are no expectations it will intensify. Looking at the local radar, the rain might be gone by mid-day tomorrow. I would be worried about local flooding and trying to get to the port. Equinox is just South of Port Everglades, probably make it to the dock before midnight. Safe travels and enjoy your trip, should have good weather next week.
  11. If you are on Paradise or Mardi Gras at the moment, how's the weather? There's a developing Tropical Storm in your area, would be interesting to know what Carnival plans to do for your return trip to Florida?
  12. Conquest already underway to Grand Turk, came in to Miami about 3 hours earlier than usual so they had a quick turnaround.
  13. I submitted mine like 2 weeks ago and got the approval on Thursday, already applied to my cruise.
