  1. If the suite is still selling at the same price she booked, you should be okay.

Actually it doesnt matter as long as she paid 200%,that locks in the rate. The person added just needs to pay the current taxes and fees.

Ive added people often when paying 200%.

  2. I knew that but I've never seen (at least I haven't) a lower rate at the same exact time of booking that I could turn around and price protect against. Usually I wait for the early saver rate I booked to drop or when that disappears there's sometimes another lower rate being offered.

Unless carnival thinks that people will automatically book the lower rate unaware for just a few dollars more they can price protect. If people aren't aware, this saves carnival money.

It happens often with resident and military rates. Many people are unwilling to book ES because of the restrictions

  3. Best thing to do is just book, check a few times and never look back. You will drive yourself nuts otherwise. Enjoy your cruise.

But to answer your questions, yes you can keep lowering it as long as you still have that early saver rate. Most of the time a sale will come up and then your rate changes so at that point you would have till final payment to see if you have a better deal (unless it is a non-refundable rate like pack and go) As far as how long early savers rates, that is up to to Carnival.

For some of us checking pricing and getting lots of OBC is far from an activity that drives us nuts. I have gotten multiple price drops and OBC on every cruise I have booked under ES. It helps that I book off season when they always have to drop rates to fill the ship. Its always good to join roll calls, that way you have multiple eyes watching the fares.

But I guess some people like to book and happy with the price and willing to leave that OBC and price adjusfments on the table.

  4. Congrats! Im curious why you would take a cab back to the airport. Divina and Glory are both at port of Miami.

I have done b2b on different ships and just walked from one to the other. Its fairly easy unless you have mobility issues.

Keep a close eye on that Glory rate, it will likey drop even lower closer to final payment date. They are almost giving cruises away these days.

  5. The thread is called Post CRUISE LINE Single Supplement/Solo Bargains

Not Post CRUISE LINE Single Supplement/Solo that Jana60 thinks is a Bargain

If it doesn't work for you, just move past it. If someone was thinking about booking allure over those dates, this is a major price reduction

Not sure I see the need to attack the messenger of someone trying to provide information

  6. Youre probably on board by now, having lunch! But just in case youre caught in traffic, reading this from your phone.....

The kids dailies would be great! (9 - 11, please!!). Just want to know if they have themed nights I should pack special clothes for.

    Thanks:)

Fyi the OP wont sail until 4/12

  7. Ok, I know this is about to rattle some cruising feathers lol, but I might not take a summer cruise at all.

I've recently been looking at travel trailers and am thinking of purchasing one. That may put a hold on cruising money until winter or next year.

Sounds like a great plan, if that's what you want to do.

So many amazing travel options, that the only bad choice is to never go anywhere.

  8. We were going to take that last year, but had to reschedule and did BA to Bermuda instead. If hubs could get the time off, we'd be there in a heartbeat. This is going to be the last TA for the Epic for a long time since she's being homed in Barcelona now. If you've always wanted to do a TA, now's your chance!

    Jen

Epic will do April 2014 October 2014 and April 2015 transatlantics

  9. No carib band by pool area and the buffet has lots of options for dinner including stuff for kids, pizza, hot dogs, fries, hamburgers. Gala night lots of dress up people but lots of people go to the buffet to avoid dressing up. The buffet has the largest option of food of any other cruise line that we have been on.

Thanks, I was asking about the free drinks offered during the first gala night

  10. I believe I read it is being dropped completely, but I apologize that I can no longer remember/find where I read that. That's what I remember, and I'm not seeing any future St. Maarten stops beyond fall 2014.

Getaway is calling. On SXM until April 2015
