  1. Probably lots older. No worries. There's always someone older than me. I grew up in a time with no computers, no cell phones, no cable tv, girls had to wear skirts or dresses to school. Simpler times for sure. BTW I have never seen even one episode of Star Trek but I'm nice in spite of it. 😉 Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock shows scared me lots.
  2. You want crying? I got teary eyed at the last Howdy Doody episode when Clarabelle spoke for the first and last time and said with a sad sigh "goodbye kids" People who sacrificed for us so that we can enjoy our freedom have my eternal gratitude.
  3. The bit at the end of the Seinfeld finale, when they're in jail, talking about the shirt collar button, was taken from the Seinfeld pilot. I liked the finale, good to see everyone come back. Not only didn't it go over well with some viewers but Jerry and his cohorts weren't thrilled with it either either. I agree with most who responded. For me, no way, no how. Not an experience on my bucket list. Friends of ours went one NYE in the 90's and said they were thankful they were able to finally escape the Times Square mob. Awful experience. Her husband talked her into going. For years after, she never let him forget it.
  4. Beautiful pictures, Helen. I hope Merv the Nerv isn't bothering you! Jennifer you could never be forgotten. Oh yes the tears flowed during Love Story AND Terms of Endearment. Every single episode, a classic. Loved all of them.
  5. Rusty the horse was featured in one of my favorite episodes, "The Rye". Poor Rusty, eating all of those canned beans! "The Contest" was also another winner, forgive the pun 🤣 Just when I think of one of my favorites, another one pops in my head.
  6. My mom also made the best latkes ever. So crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. To this day I never attempt to make them myself because I know nothing I make can ever come close to mom's. Any by the way, count my daughter as another Jennifer.
  7. I remember A&S in downtown Brooklyn very well. As a kid, mom would take us to Mays, A&S and McRory's for a hot waffle ice cream sandwich.
  8. Thanks for all the Chanukah wishes. How wonderful we can all acknowledge/share our holidays in here. We had a wonderful Chanukah/Christmas tradition with neighbors on our block for quite a few years. Their daughter was my daughter's age when they met, all of 3 years old. Every year, for about 10-12 years we would go to their house, admire their wonderful decorations, grab a few candy canes off the Christmas tree and the kids would exchange gifts. Chanukah, the family would come to our home, kids would exchange gifts, eat latkes, jelly donuts and play the draydel game. Those once 3 year olds are now in their mid 30s, married, each with 2 children and still keep in touch. @Sea Dog Greg, Jack wanted me to thank you for posting the knee brace info in here. It makes a difference when he wears it. Definitely cuts down on some the pain.
  9. Greg, so many offered wonderful words of encouragement, and I'll add mine now. Just concentrate on your and Linda's successful surgeries and full recoveries. You have some wonderful cruises planned and Beyond and even Ascent will be here for you to fully enjoy when you two will be in the best of health. Has anyone checked Crystal's FB or other social media sites? I can't imagine that anything she posts would be Monopoly worthy. She's one of the best and like everyone else, I hope all is well.
  10. Just a note on previous book chat. I finished Grisham's "The Exchange" and was disappointed. "The Firm" was so much better but that's just MHO. On a brighter note, sunny and beautiful here, going up to mid 60s. @George C Hope Shelagh (sp?) feels better soon. @Jimbo Never good to get Covid on a cruise but at least it was the last day for both of you. I hope you both experienced mild symptoms.
  11. Best line from Cousin Eddy in Christmas Vacation: "The $hitter's full." Not sure you mean the Laurel and Hardly March of the Wooden Soldiers, but I loved that movie shown every year on Thanksgiving. Haven't seen it in years.
  12. I you tubed her singing that song. Not even close to Robert, IMHO. @Ozark_Kid Hugs to you ((((((((John)))))))))
  13. Many years ago, we had a wonderful Repertoire Theater in Plano. We saw Fantastics and Camelot, sitting up close. Both wonderful, but in my eyes, nobody sang "If Ever I Would Leave You" like Robert Goulet.
  14. I must have seen Christmas Vacation at least 20 times and every time I see it, I laugh at Cousin Eddy's antics. Never gets old. Continue to enjoy your cruise!
  15. @dani negreanu Dani, all of Israel and those following the hostage news, have taken the Bibas family close to their hearts, especially those two beautiful boys. I'm happy you had a few days to get out and live life the way it was before October 7 and the way it should always be. @Tree_skier For pure laughs, is it possible to add Chevy Chase's National Lampoon Christmas Vacation to your Christmas movie list? My computer is acting wonky. I quoted 2 posts, typed responses and they went "poof". They might show up after swirling through cyber space. Stranger things have happened.
  16. Those are my ankles at times! Compression socks, drinking water, raising my feet higher than my heart and trying to move around to get circulation going helps me. Of course, staying away from sodium laden foods would benefit but I love those foods and unfortunately, there seems to be sodium in most foods acting as a flavor enhancement and preservative. On another note, I'm glad your knee recuperation is doing better than the first. I hope your other medical issue gets resolved. How is Linda and has she scheduled surgery?
  17. @dani negreanuDani, as the fighting resumes, thinking of you and wishing you and your family safety from this he!!
  18. What???? Mah Jongg was cancelled?????? I never went to a cruise happy hour but aren't the tables first come first served no matter the status once you're allowed in the lounge? Continue to have a yummy, wonderful cruise. @Arzeena your pictures are gorgeous! Continue to enjoy as well!
  19. Greg, I'm so sorry to read this. As the saying goes, don't borrow trouble. Hoping all goes well for you and Linda so that you can keep on cruising.
  20. Maryann what a beautiful picture! Your granddaughter on your far left in dark jeans looks just like you! Lucky gal. Sue, I hit the wrong key and the space for me to respond to your post went in cyber space. What I wanted to post was that I do use my air fryer on occasion for burgers, chicken, fries. I use my slow cooker for stews, casseroles.
