  1. Large bottles? Is this something you can request or perhaps it's in the penthouses but not the standard veranda suites? On our cruise there were only the small 1.7 oz (50ml) plastic containers of Molton Brown products.
  2. Perhaps so, but it has also gained at least one new member.
  3. I donated money to the crew fund two days prior to the end of the cruise without indicating to the representative at Seabourn Square that I wanted to use non-redeemable money. The next day when I noticed that it was taken out of my reedemable OBC, I asked the rep if it could be changed so that it would come from non-redeemable money. Initially she said that it couldn't, but subsequently allowed me to do so. I don't know if they made an exception for me (rather doubt it) or if this is the general policy.
  4. On our recent Odyssey cruise, OBC could be used for the crew fund. However, for gratuities to individual crew members, you could not use OBC, you had to personally hand them cash.
  5. Having read several comments such as this, I wonder if I really was on a Seabourn (Odyssey) cruise last month. During our 14 days, we never ever had anything "pushed at us in the the cabin." The only items we received each evening were the TK chocolates and occasional gifts. The only paper items were what I would call required: information on how to complete the ArriveCAN and information on how to disembark, for example. Oh, there also were invitations to join the CD or other crew for hosted dinners as well as reminders of our TK Grill reservations. There was nothing about buying jewelry or booking the spa. And who the heck is "Madame Zelda?"
  6. Sounds like SB did you a favor by removing India from the itinerary. How would you have obtained a visa in less than three weeks?
  7. This was one week before Sandy struck. Symphony was subsequently diverted from NYC, where it was scheduled to begin a voyage on October 31, to Charleston, where the voyage actually began on November 2. I remember the incredible disruption this caused and how difficult it was to rearrange transportation under those circumstances. I also remember being in line to board Symphony in Charleston...immediately behind you, Roy. I believe we were the very first to board that day. In the end, it was a great cruise, ending up in Los Angeles on October 18.
  8. Their website states that the hotel is undergoing "extensive renovations" and guests should expect noise between 9AM and 5PM. Any knowledge of how disruptive and noisy the renovations are? Mostly concerned if they would interfere with sleeping at night (even though they state the noise will be 9-5). Thanks
  9. We also received TK chocolates each evening of our 14-day Odyssey cruise in September. As many (most?) passengers do, I currently have 28 of them in my candy drawer at home. Hmmm, since Halloween is coming up soon....🤔 If Seabourn eliminated the chocolates as well as the caviar and redirected the savings into the general F & B budget, I would be happy.
  10. sfvoyage's comment shows how variable (and unpredictable) the Covid situation still is. On our recently-concluded 14-day Odyssey cruise to Alaska, there was no evidence of Covid as far as I could see. In fact, I rarely heard passengers coughing, probably less so than I would have heard on a typical pre-Covid cruise. I asked a higher-level manager on board about Covid and he told me that no passenger or crew member on Odyssey had contracted Covid for the last several cruises. A lot of factors are at play here, including location of the cruise, time of year, current testing and masking requirements, and how full the ship is. Now that the flu/cold season is about to begin, I wonder if the testing and masking requirements will be adequate.
  11. Have you tried swiping side to side when viewing your wife's boarding pass? I didn't see the second boarding pass either initially, but then I swiped to the side and there it was.
  12. I, too, worried whether my first Seabourn cruise, which was on the Odyssey last month, was the right decision. My worry stemmed entirely from reading complaints on Cruise Critic. As it turns out, I would have been better off (and would have slept a lot easier) if I wouldn't have read those complaints. I am picky, especially when it comes to food and to service. But after 14 wonderful days on board, I can say that the cruise was truly outstanding. Do yourself a big favor and don't worry. If you go with a positive attitude, you should have a great cruise.
  13. The new dispensers for sugar and for artificial sweeteners are a total joke. The sugar dispenser gets clogged up and is unreliable. The small dispenser which has the artificial sweetener is even worse: you would have to shake it for five minutes (really) to get enough out to equal one packet. I asked the barista in Seabourn Square which artificial sweetener was in the container and he didn't know. I guess it doesn't really matter because you're not going to get any out of the shaker anyway. A hundred bucks to a donut that these dispensers will be replaced soon.
  14. The wording of the Worry Free Promise itself (and the Q & A that is included with it) clearly states that insurance is not required for the benefits to be had.
  15. I feel horrible about this, Jackie. Foremost, I hope you recover quickly and are back at play soon. For what it's worth, I'm glad you were able to enjoy the cruise until now and I hope to see you onboard a Seabourn cruise in the not-too-distant future!
  16. Nancy, It was such a great cruise that I booked another one after just five days onboard. I'm now looking for a third cruise (because waiting until April is too long to wait!).
  17. Looking to book a suite on Sojourn, probably 530 or 526. Not many other choices available for the cruise I'm interested in. Would there be any noise from tenders in these suites? Or any other issues in these suites? Thanks!
  18. A wild guess: After your 10-day Seabourn cruise, you will book another cruise with Seabourn, and you'll book it onboard.
  19. Maybe Manfredi Lefebvre and Geoffrey Kent could swoop in and purchase Seabourn. By combining Seabourn's ships with the two Crystal ships they recently purchased, this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Among other things, it would take the pressure off of the new Crystal to build new ships right away.
  20. Sunset. Btw, what is this "sunrise" that people sometimes talk about? When I wake up, the sun is straight overhead.
  21. Just returned from a 14-day Alaska cruise on the Seabourn Odyssey, our first non-Crystal cruise in more than a decade. This was taken last week off of British Columbia.
  22. I understand that you completed your first ArriveCAN before arriving into Vancouver. But didn't you then need to do a second ArriveCAN in order to board the ship? From what it seems, you actually did your second ArriveCAN onboard. Could you please explain? Thank you very much for any help you can give!
  23. I agree with you, and I will enter Prince Rupert. It will be interesting to see what happens to the passengers who enter Vancouver on their ArriveCAN. After all, the person at Seabourn told me to enter Vancouver, and the person at ArriveCAN had no answer at all, so there certainly will be a number of people who will likewise enter it incorrectly. I wonder what will happen to them. Will they be denied boarding? Or will they still be able to do a fresh ArriveCAN application at the pier?
  24. After posting my question here a couple of hours ago, I called Seabourn and the person I spoke with thought that I should enter Vancouver, although she didn't seem very authoritative. I also called the phone number for ArriveCAN and the person I spoke with was useless and unpleasant...he said that it's not his job to figure this out for me. Ummm, ok... Maybe it doesn't matter which we choose (Vancouver or Prince Rupert)? Or does it?
  25. So should the ArriveCAN for embarkation for this specific cruise list Vancouver or Prince Rupert as the entry point? Thank you.
