  1. Slippery slope. I wonder what would happen if someone strolled into the Restaurant wearing this...
  2. On the website: Log in and then from the homepage, click on the "Online Guest Registration" tile. Click on the "My Bookings" tab. Choose which of your bookings you want to view. Then click on "Guest Registration." Then click on "Prefs" which is near the top of the page. (Along the way, you may need to log in with your credentials and supply the booking number several times.) Btw, thanks for asking, because your query caused me to retrace these steps and lo and behold, I saw that several of the required items for my upcoming cruise, which I filled out a few months ago, were deleted! Not surprising, since similar things happened several times prior to my last cruise. It's a good idea to review your account and make certain everything is in order just prior to sailing.
  3. Are you referring to the seating hostess in TKG? Are they available there in the early afternoon on the day of boarding? When I called Seabourn to ask what the best way to book onboard was, they said I should go to the Square and speak to Guest Services/Relations.
  4. No one likes an upscale dining experience more than me. But once a day is enough. For me, if I were to have a white line service meal two or three times daily for several weeks (or even for one week), it would become routine and, thus, less enjoyable. The contrast between a nice, casual lunch and a white linen dinner experience helps make the dinner all that more desirable. Too much of almost anything becomes self-defeating. I learned this lesson trying to eat a gallon of Cherry Garcia ice cream at one sitting ๐Ÿคฎ.
  5. Competition is great, competition is desirable. This should result in a better product, hopefully at a more competitive price.
  6. Sometimes all the docking berths are already taken and SB has to anchor and tender. Other times, the port is tender-only.
  7. Great photos, thanks! What did you think of the monkfish and of the smoked eryngii mushrooms?
  8. The Dover sole in TKG is incredible. Flaky, moist, and tender with a smokey, nutty taste . It takes a special dish to overcome my desire for the lobster thermidor that is also on the menu, but this is special. As a bonus, it is filleted tableside. Warning: it is huge, plenty for two people.
  9. Do you mean CR as in Compass Rose on Regent? Or The Restaurant on Seabourn?
  10. You might be in luck. I vaguely recall that ESPN (a USA sports channel) was not available on my cruise, which was surprising, but there seemed to be quite a few European stations, such as Sky as well as German and French stations, so perhaps there will be some joy in Mudville (or Qatar) for you. I hardly watch TV at all on a cruise, but hopefully, someone who payed more attention to the TV offerings will chime in. P.S. On another cruise line, they would show "important" sports events such as the Super Bowl or the NBA Finals on a big screen in the movie theater. Don't know if this is an option with Seabourn.
  11. Wow! Just 51 minutes after I emailed Seabourn (and this is a Saturday, no less), they responded by saying, "Updates to our add-on booking system have caused existing dining reservations to no longer appear on your โ€œInventoryโ€ page. Be assured, you still have the following reservations..." So, no reservations have been removed. They still exist but are just not currently viewable on the website. Therefore, no need to worry, no need to contact Seabourn.
  12. Same thing happened to me. Poof! I checked availability for rebooking and the only times available are at 6:00PM for the several days that still have slots open. Very disappointing that a first-class cruise line has such a poor website.
  13. If you don't have pre-confirmed reservations for the TKG, do you go to Seabourn Square and make a reservation there on the first day? Or do you make a phone call from your cabin? Or do you go to the Grill itself (and what time is the earliest time you can do this after embarking?). Thanks!
  14. Sorry that you had an unsatisfactory cruise and also that you contracted Covid. Hopefully, you have made a full recovery. I agree that the selection of television stations is poor. Regarding the internet quality, did you have the basic service or the higher-grade streaming service? Could you elaborate on the "many aspects of the cruise that were disappointing" and on the cost-cutting measures you noticed. Thank you.
  15. Apples and oranges. The offer to Crystal Society members by Seabourn was done to attract new customers. It was an Introductory Offer. This is a standard type of offering that exists in many industries/businesses. It would make no sense to give existing customers the benefit of an introductory offer.
  16. The issue of service animals has become heated in recent years. This is largely due to the expansion of the use of animals from their original cause (helping the blind) to then helping others who have less obvious needs (diabetics, seizure disorders, etc.) to finally "emotional support" animals. I believe this discussion reached its somewhat hilarious peak (or nadir) when someone tried to bring an emotional-support peacock aboard a United Airlines flight. Now, most restaurants, airlines and other venues make a clear distinction between "service animals" and "emotional support" animals (as does Seabourn). Btw, I'm not making any judgement here as I don't have a dog in this fight.
  17. We're going to be on this year's Sojourn holiday cruise beginning December 21 and ending January 6. Are the dinners on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve different in any way from the usual meals? If so, how are they different, and would this also apply to TKG dinners on those days? And while I'm at it, could anyone please comment on what Seabourn generally does for these holidays. Thanks!
  18. What's the issue with these cabins? And when you say "front," how far back from the bow do you mean? Thanks.
  19. Nancy, We booked a second SB cruise while we were onboard our first cruise last month, so we'll be on the Hawaii --> Vancouver Odyssey trip next spring. But once we got home, we realized we couldn't wait seven months for our next cruise, so we recently booked the Sojourn 16-day holiday Caribbean cruise (which begins in just 6 1/2 more weeks!). Just like you, we're glad to have found a cruise line that fits what we are looking for.
  20. Neither. It's not a free-for-all and you aren't assigned a table. You seat yourself at any available table. If you come at peak times you might not have a great choice of tables, but the turnover is usually brisk if you prefer to wait for a certain section of the restaurant. I don't believe it is accurate to paint this arrangement as a "free-for-all" just because you aren't assigned a table and taken to it.
  21. I was there, too! But I can guarantee you that I was sound asleep in cabin 9049 when this picture was taken. ๐Ÿ›Œ
  22. I received an email from Seabourn today announcing a Black Friday Sail for November 10. But November 10 is a Thursday... P.S. And yes, it's "Sail"...not Sale. Pretty clever, actually.
  23. To me, it is much, much easier to assess calories when you can actually visualize the food before you commit to it. In a buffet, for example, you can see how much fat a piece of meat has, you can see if the food has sauces or dressings, and most importantly, you can select the specific item that satisfies your needs. From a menu, you have no idea how much rich sauce or dressing an item may have. The portion size is mostly out of your control (even if you express your desire to the waiter). The "healthy" vegetables you order from a menu may show up on your table glistening with butter or oil, whereas you would likely be able to notice this in the buffet line.
  24. Air is an add-on and is not included in the base fare on Seabourn.
