  1. In the terminal, checked in, waiting to board! It’s all good from here!!
  2. I just kept telling myself “it’s all good, you’re on vacation and will be on the ship soon!”
  3. Get down to the pickup area, the front desk had told us to just ask for Carlos for our ride to the port. Nobody knows who Carlos is. I’m so glad a friend introduced us to Uber several years ago!
  4. Me too! This hotel is a mess. Wouldn’t recommend staying here. Another design flaw: 4 elevators servicing 21 guest floors. We literally waited 20 minutes to go down. I debated hiking it, but we were on floor 11 and Chris said no way with our luggage.
  5. So I’m REALLY not impressed with this hotel. They are very disorganized and we are getting conflicting information. Last night at check in we verified we had the park & cruise package, and they said they would validate our parking ticket when we returned AFTER the cruise. Nothing was mentioned about a receipt for the shuttle to the port. This morning at 7:30 we get a call saying we needed to come to the desk by 9:30 to get our shuttle receipt. What the heck? So we went to get it, and the lady goes, “you left your car with valet, right?” No, we verified last night that where we parked it was ok, and y’all said you would validate the ticket upon return from the cruise. Nope, no go, we gotta move it now…and there is no shuttle receipt. So what the heck was the phone call about???
  6. Yes, that’s where Bubba Gump was that we ate at before Breeze, right? So far, hitting hiccups with this dang hotel. More to come on that!
  7. Tommy!!!! We are right off Biscayne Blvd, downtown, so probably! Yes, it’s cruise day!!! Hilton Miami Downtown
  8. Before I forget, here’s a pic of the hotel room. It’s a decent hotel, but not worth the price for sure. Our room does have a nice view, but the bed is like a rock. Location is great tho.
  9. Holy moly this seafood roll is HUGE! I ended up scooping the good stuff out and leaving the bread. It was delicious. Fries are nice and crispy too. A+!!!
  10. Summer of 69 drink is delicious! conch fritters are very yummy. Menu says a spicy batter, but honestly they aren’t. The cocktail sauce they come with is tho.
  11. At Monty’s! Time for seafood and a drink. Here’s the menu. It looks like a neat little place, and our server is super nice.
  12. We have stopped at that one before. I always have to get my chocolate covered pecans!
  13. Made our obligatory stop at Target for forgotten items (HOW did I forget sunglasses? Sheesh Steph, get with the program!) and trucked on. Got right outside Fort Lauderdale and Chris said we needed gas, so we made another pit stop in da hood. Like…no joke y’all, I hate guns but I was ready to pounce on ours if need be, and I was planning my escape route. I REALLY needed to pee but NO WAY was I getting out of the car…unless it was to run for my life. In which case, I’ll end up dead from a heart attack anyway, my body doesn’t know how to run. Anyway, I didn’t have to run, we fueled up very quickly and got the heck outta there, and now we are dealing with freaking Miami traffic, trying to fight our way to our hotel. I’m so ready to park and be done with the road trip portion! It just solidifies…I won’t sail from Miami again, unless I’m drugged and plopped onto an airplane. In which case everyone better pray those drugs don’t wear off early!
  14. Made our pit stop at Total Wine to stretch our legs. Last time we were here, in November, I found a very special bottle of wine and wanted to get another since I haven’t been able to get it back home. Turns out, I’ll never be able to drink that special bottle, as it was a limited release and Total Wine can’t get it anymore. So, to console myself, I filled my basket with other “horse” themed wines.
  15. Made our pit stop at the Buc-ees right outside Jacksonville. We got there about 12:30 so decided to fuel, potty and grab lunch from there. As I wandered around trying to decide what I wanted to eat, I saw this thing called a kolache. What is this? I asked the lady at the counter, and she told me it was a dough with cheddar and a jalapeño sausage in it. What the heck, I’ll try one! I got it and as a backup the Texas Cheesesteak Burrito. The burrito was the winner by far.
  16. Note to self: it makes Chris (my dear hubby) angry when I examine my hair for split ends, then pull out my tiny scissors I carry in my purse, and start trimming them in “his” car. I offered to vacuum the dang thing out, so what’s the harm?? He then informs me that to stop this behavior he’s pulling off to let me drive…so I inform him that is unacceptable, he’s my chauffeur, and that is the only reason I allow him to come along on these cruises. The car is now silent…he’s still driving…did I win?? 🤷🏻‍♀️
