  3. Good afternoon everyone, I hope you are all ok today. It’s a lovely sunny day here, a clear blue skies but a bit cold. DIY SOS continues at our new house, plumber, builder, electrician & two labourers there today. They are doing really well and work is progressing but it’s well and truly a building site. We go to Nidd Hall tomorrow so just been for my eyelashes doing and nails this afternoon. Have a good day everyone Michelle

  5. It definitely will not be finished when we move in, it will be a lot better than it currently is though. It’s probably a bigger job than we anticipated and the gardens haven’t been touched for 18 months so it’s just like a wilderness Michelle

It’s like DIY SOS at our new house today, by 8am there was a plumber, two electricians and their boss and a labourer. Shorty after the new boiler arrived and wood flooring for the whole of the downstairs. It’s all happening!! Have a good day everyone Michelle
  7. That’s exactly what we are doing for the in-laws for their Christmas present. We are taking them to Nidd Hall in Harrogate next Weds. It is only our second Warner break but last time everything was really good, the room, the food, the entertainment, the spa and pool and the service. I am sure they would love it Michelle
  8. The move went fine but it was very tiring. The removal men worked so hard, taking some into storage and taking some to our new house. Our Airbnb is fabulous, better than we could have hoped. The skip arrived at the new house this morning and the boiler is been moved today. Takeaway for us tonight too along with watching the strictly final. Have a good weekend everyone Michelle
  9. That was brilliant, very festive and gives you the “happy feel” Michelle
  10. Good morning everyone, hope you are all ok today. It’s feels a mild day outside here today with a gentle breeze. We have been up since 5.30am, getting final bits sorted ready for the removal company doing the final packing then moving us out. A busy few weeks ahead now, a skip arrives at our new place in the morning and the builders/plasterers/electricians/ plumbers etc start work tomorrow. Have a good weekend everyone Michelle
  11. Glad your recovery has been quick, a new lease of life for you. Six weeks away in the winter sounds perfect to me, it will be here in no time at all Michelle

  16. Good afternoon everyone, hope you are all well today. A busy week for me this week, I am dreading it. I have a follow up mammogram appointment this afternoon following my DCIS diagnosis earlier this year, hopefully everything will be ok. We are moving house this week, packing is getting done tomorrow then they will leave us with the basics until we complete on Friday. I feel very un-prepared Michelle

  20. I am sure he will, if not he might be doing the washing up!!! We are out for lunch on Christmas Day and we have had to pay in advance and make our menu choices Michelle
  21. Good Morning everyone, it’s a dull and cloudy day here today unfortunately. Just been doing a few “jobs” at home this morning, sorting out dog insurance which has just jumped by 40%, sorting out Christmas presents ready to take to parents to hide and other various bits of correspondence. It is our ladies coffee morning Christmas Night out tonight so looking forward to that Michellr
  22. As long as you can open the wine!!! That’s the main thing!! Hope you have a lovely time on Christmas Day Michelle
  23. Does this also excuse you from helping cook Christmas dinner? Or will you be fully recovered in time? And what about opening the Christmas sherry??
  24. If i only have a few things I don’t mind using the self serve tills but I I have more I like to use the “proper” tills. Having to use a mobility scooter too makes it difficult to use the self serve tills as there is not usually much room. Booths has recently got rid of all their self serve tills. Michelle
  25. You seems to be having a hard time at the moment, I feel for you. i don’t think there is really anything else I can add to what has been said already apart from make use of any offers of help. My mum is going the same way. She will be 90 in July and still lives independently. I go to see her every day and take her out somewhere most days. However she has macular degeneration that is getting significantly worse now, she can’t read, can’t see what food she is looking at in the supermarket but she can see distance like she might read a car number plate to me. She has one of those cord ring bells in case of an emergency. Take care Michelle
