  1. Hi Sarah, apologise for the late reply. I stayed in hospital three nights and I had to prove I could go up and down stairs before they let me home. I wasn’t in any pain after the operation though. After my MRI on 30/12 and diagnosis I had to wait 6 days for my op, I know now I should have been operated on within 24 hours and as a result I have permanent nerve damage, drop foot and no reflex in my left lower leg. But a colleague had the same op and is fine!! I had six weeks off work and physio. I hope your mum does well Michelle
  2. I hope your mum is ok Sarah. I had a similar operation 20 years ago, I had nerve root compression and had a disc removed, I had cauda equina, it was quit scary at the time. I hope she makes a good recovery Michelle
  3. I have been thinking about having mine done for a while now. As I have got older my eyebrows have become more sparse and patchy, I pencil them in every day. My daughter has been having hers done for years and they always look nice Michelle
  4. That is such a nice idea and something for everyone to remember. I am not as organised as you but I have been putting money away every month to pay for Christmas. Having eight grandchildren doesn’t come cheap!! Michelle
  5. Good morning everyone, hope you are all ok this morning. Sorry to hear that sone of you have been awake ages. I have nights like those too then the next night I sleep really well. Hubby got up early this morning then didn’t switch his alarm off in our bedroom so I got woken up too!! Grrrrr Hubby has a check up at the wound clinic this morning then I need to go shopping for my mum. It is forecast 19 degrees here today so hopefully I will be sat out in the garden later. Have a good day everyone Michelle
  6. Thank you Graham, that brings back good memories. They are all coming to visit us this weekend so looking forward to that Michelle
  7. Good afternoon everyone, hope you are all ok today. Its been a beautiful sunny day here, not a cloud in the sky, it’s about 11 degrees but there is a nip in the air still. My mum has come round for tea, doing a roast dinner today with chocolate & banana cake and ice cream for pudding. Hope you have all had a lovely weekend whatever you have been doing Michelle
  8. That looks yummy Graham, I love treats like that. Our son got married at Wynyard Hall, a beautiful location for a wedding Michelle
  9. Gosh that made me tired just reading it!!! I hope you manage to have a quieter day today. Glad your dad got his meds Michelle
  10. Well done you!! That is true determination. Hope you have a lovely cruise Michelle
  11. Richard get all his own clothes out then I iron & pack everything. He takes more than me, he took 23 shirts once!! Michelle
  12. Happy Anniversary to you both, have a lovely meal out tonight Michelle
  13. My mum is doing well, thank you for asking Graham. I am picking her up in the morning to collect new glasses for her. She is getting out and about again which is great Michelle
  14. Like you say Graham a sad day but hopefully lots of happy memories. To come 18th in the London marathon sounds an absolute amazing achievement to me - well done!! Michelle
  15. One of my most dreaded things, I go regularly but dread it. Hope it all goes well for you and that it’s not too expensive Michelle
  16. It was clean plates from everyone I am pleased to say, not much leftovers for the doggies. I keep telling him to take it easy and that the company won’t collapse without him, they managed for two weeks last month while we we on holiday. I can hear him not speaking to a customer in Sweden. Michelle
  17. Good morning everyone, hope you all had a nice weekend. Hubby is doing well, better than he did last time. He has just logged on his work computer which I am not happy about, he should be resting not sat in an office chair. He was complaining last night about how uncomfortable he was sat upright on the sofa so he might not be able to work long. He has a Drs appointment later for a dressing change so we will see what they say. We had an unexpected visit from our daughter yesterday and grandchildren so that was nice. I made an old recipe of my Gran’s for tea, braising steak with onions, carrots and dumplings cooked in gravy served with mash & spring greens. Hope you all have a nice day Michelle
  18. I remember you told me about that when we were on Arvia. Did you have a good time? Richard has been doing loads on the house, lining paper on in the kitchen/diner just waiting to be painted. Decorator was here this week to paper and paint lounge ceiling too. Still loads to do but downstairs looks like a home now. Michelle
  19. Good afternoon everyone, hope everyone is ok today. It’s started raining about an hour ago here, luckily had the dogs out for a long walk this morning. I have just dropped my hubby at the hospital, he is having a hernia repair done this afternoon, 2nd time doing it. He has been sent to Spire from NHS to get it done, they must be outsourcing their work. Hubby says they have told him he will be out tonight but he is still waiting to go to theatre. Michelle
  20. We stayed at Elizabeth House last summer. They were not doing food that evening but they recommended a pub across the road. It about a 5 min walk next to a park. I can’t remember the name but it was really nice, it was definitely a “food pub” Michelle
  21. Fingers crossed Josy it should do its job Michelle
  22. Glad all was good at the hospital Josy. Unfortunately for my mum at her check up her heart rate was bouncing around again but too quickly now. They are putting her back on bisoporol to lower her heart rate. Check up again in October Michelle
  23. I think the 4 June 2026 on Azura looks a good one too, just a bit nervous about booking so far out Michelle
