  1. Port to LAX is 35 minutes, but count on at least an hour to get to your gate as traffic backs up at the airport. I think we were in the first group off a little after 7am. Line up at 6:15, if you really need to be the first off.
  2. I was going to bring my best friend on a cruise, but now I’m afraid he wouldn’t make it through the entire cruise.
  3. Plus rum runners for each of your checked bags. Oops, I wasn’t to mention those.
  4. Like everything on a full ship, act as early as possible. OR expect to stand in line with hopes of getting a spot. Bag the reviews, experience it for yourself... have a issue with the hardness, talk to your steward. Getting off the ship is as easy as walking. Unless for some reason you are ending up with a tender port.
  5. Henry is getting very expensive. He is very cute, but come on the price is getting insane.
  6. Yes, the cost of cruising has gone up over time. As have wages. (Hopefully) While cruises have risen quite a bit recently, new massive ships are coming. We likely will see prices decline on older ships in the next two years. Got to get pent up demand fulfilled
  7. Not to belabor the point, but my wife said; "The only good part about this duo is that they are very thin".
  8. The singers on this ship can actually sing the songs they are given. Which is a rarity on cruise ships. Rock/Opera(Yes, I inserted a slash) had great singing, good dancing, and of course, no real story line. The "Opera" part was cut into the middle of the soft rock, basically not working with the rest. The pre-show music was Guns and Roses, but the show was "soft rock". With one reasonably good attempt at actual rock. The Emerald band was good as most ship bands. The Party Band was the same. Pacho and Olivia were the worst thing on four legs. The Guitarist, Piano player and strings were fine. The comedians Oscar Carlos and "the other guy" were good.
  9. What about the shows and piazza musical groups? as one gentleman said; “The Pizzazz” (and he thought he had it correct)
  10. We bring a large stack of Cleveland's and hand at least one to every person we see, including fellow passengers. The bills seem to make people happy for some reason. Other than that, do whatever you want to do. Enjoy your cruise.
  11. At LA Harbor, there are lanes, but they just don't matter. Greens to the left, Blues to the right, stuck in the middle with you.
  12. TA, I can interpret just fine. I also know what TnA is.
  13. I've never seen these ruins, but I did try getting wrecked at the Krazy Lobster, once.
  14. Those Towel Animals are nice. Aren't they the Famous Piccolo Pete?
  15. Asked for lowest sodium possible. Head waiter had me order the day in advance. “He was going to personally make my meal” First day he brings a salad with no dressing , but with plenty of cheese and olives. I laughed. Next course, he brought salmon with sauce and a baked potato rolled in salt. I cried. To say the least, we didn’t make it back to the MDR that cruise. Now, I police my own foods.
  16. I take a Chromebook, if someone wants to steal it, go ahead, I’ve got more.
  17. Been using this meteorologist for years, it beats the TV weather guy at 68%
  18. That's what I was writing about. It would be a repetitively loud room under my definition. But that's what the thread was about as far as I read.
  19. I didn't read this thread, but please don't wear loud shorts in the dinning room.
