  1. I had a similar experience on the NCL Dawn after eating at Cagneys. Exactly 6 hours after eating dinner I got sick, which lasted about 5 hours during the night. It could've been anything I ate for dinner (shrimp cocktail, wedge salad, steak with sautéed onions) but I really don't think it was the steak bc I couldn't finish it and my father ate the rest of my steak but took the onions off the top. Food poisoning? I don't think bc it didn't last long and I was fine the next day. I know people who've had food poisoning and it lasted more than a few hours. Knocks you down for a few days.

  2. If you order a cake while onboard it will show on your account and that is more easily accessible to see on the tv. My bf ordered me a cake from Carlos bake shop while onboard and I looked on the tv and saw the charge and asked him why we had a $49 charge on our account lol if you order before hand the amenities is a separate paper that gets emailed to you. Whoevers email is on file with NCL will get the invoice. I've read in here that people tried to have it sent to another email but their significant other still somehow got the email of the surprise also.

The only cakes that can really be a surprise is the free cakes that NCL gives for special occasions. It's usually a strawberry shortcake. That you could arrange secretly through the concierge.

  3. Bridgeview Discount Liquors

    (201) 339 6001

    300 Route 440 South

    Bayonne NJ

    07002

Right out near the turn to go into the port. There's a big shopping center also close to the port with a Walmart but no liquor in the Walmart.

If your taking a taxi from the airport stop at the liquor store. It's close to the port.

  4. I was also going to suggest the lamanai ruins in Belize also! It was great and climbing to the top was an amazing experience. You take a small boat ride on the river to the ruins. Cozumel and Costa Maya are good ports for beach days.

  5. I also use meclizine pills. Can't sail without them. I also used the Dramamine less drowsy pills last month on Oasis. I noticed this last cruise I needed more than my one per night before bed pill. I was using the Dramamine ones during the day too. I was staying on deck 17, maybe bc I was on a higher deck I felt more motion? There was one night we had a medical emergency and the ship turned around to head back to Mexico and the shaking bc of the turn was making me feel sick that I had to take another pill. I also use ginger oil under my tongue.

  6. We did cash account last month. I had $350 obc and put down $400 cash as soon as I boarded (guest services line was short lol) booked 3 excursions after that and that pretty much ate up all our money lol so we added another $600 the next morning. I monitored the account from the tv. We closed the account around 10pm the night before getting off the ship. Actually got $112 back!! Lol

  7. There should be a golf pro onboard on the Bermuda sailings...I know there was one in 2014. My dad used him a lot while we were onboard and the pro made arrangements for courses. That cruise we wound up getting diverted to Florida and Bahamas bc a hurricane was hitting Bermuda and the pro made arrangements for the golfers onboard to play in Florida and Bahamas.

  8. Don't know if they serve it at no charge, but I thought I read somewhere that Royal Caribbean charges $29.95 in the MDR for lobster and almost $40 for surf and turf.

I sailed Oasis last month and there's a lobster night in the MDR at no additional charge. Our waiter actually brought out 2 on my plate.

  9. Did you do a private tour? We are arriving in Falmouth so not sure if there is enough time to do both

Just an FYI, it's about a 45 minute ride back to the port (Falmouth)from Dunns River Falls. I did it 3 weeks ago on Oasis. I did the zipline/Dunns excursion through the ship. I had a lot of fun.

  10. When I was on oasis 3 weeks ago we got gold wristbands in the cabin for the beach. We were only 2 people and we got 6 wrist bands in our envelope. There were also people sitting next to us on the beach that were in a suite and had family members with them on the beach, not in a suite, and they all had gold wrist bands on. Either that family asked if their family can join or had extra wrist bands. You just needed to show your wrist band, not your keycard to get on the beach or use the private tram

  11. Thank you SO much!!! This is great news for DD and I.:D:D

DH wouldn't be caught dead with a lanyard on........lol

Good to know I can get it before I even get on the ship........

Will they punch the card there, or do we have to go to GS?

Yes they punch holes in the card. I don't wear the lanyard lol it's easier to carry if I have my card on the lanyard bc then I don't need to carry a purse. Sometimes I wear it on my shoulder like a purse lol enjoy your cruise. I was on 3 weeks ago

  12. Do they sell lanyards in the gift shop (Oasis)?

We've only cruised Carnival, and I'd feel REAL silly walking around all week with a Carnival lanyard.:D:D

Also, will they punch the card for you to attach it to the lanyard?

    Thank you!!!!

    3 weeks from today!!!!:D

Yes, they are sold right in the terminal before you board. I bought 2 and it cost be $14. Mine was a blingy one lol

  13. Not snippy IMHO.

We were on Oasis 3 weeks ago and followed a week on Oasis with 8 days on Navigator. I was really surprised that I enjoyed Oasis more. Navigator had been my favorite ship prior to that cruise. Love the Diamond Lounge on her. We had the same issue with no robes or toiletries the first day on both cruises. The steward took care of it on both ship when asked. Ice there daily after we asked. Red wine here so no need to put wine in the frig. Only thing that put me off on both cruises was the dogs on Navigator. We were in CHops and the table next to us had a dog in the ladies lap eating from the table. Dog was in clothes and a diaper. A small dog, but sure made me wonder if a dog had previously been at our table and how well it was cleaned. The dog was in the CL and DL and just negatively affected our experience ad many others. Then there was a loose dog on the promenade in the cafe just running around licking folks. Next time we saw it the same dog was in a ladies lap at the table. THis was a basset hound size dog. I love my pets, but I don't love cruising with other folks pets and I sure don't think they should be at the tables or loose. I know, I know before you jump on me re service dogs. These dogs did not act trained as service dogs.

Were you on the 4/23 sailing? I saw a small white dog at the buffet sitting at the table.

  14. The one thing I kept saying on my sold out, full capacity sailing (4/23) is how this ship doesn't feel crowded and all through the cruise I kept saying "I can't believe how it doesn't feel crowded " and I've been on plenty of crowded ships (Breakaway)

  15. I prefer to sail in suites because I can only cruise during the busiest times (summer/school holidays) and by no means am I rich lol I'm a NYC public school Kindergarten teacher and I scrimp and save to pay for a suite. I want those extra perks that come with a suite. I sailed on Oasis 3 weeks ago (spring break) and it was a sold out sailing. Being able to go to the suite deck to take the sun was nice bc I didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn and fight with the chair hogs for a chair. I was on the last sailing before the new added suite perks were added and it would've been nice to utilize the flow rider suite line for the flow rider instead of waiting for 40 minutes to watch my bf do it [emoji6] but like people said, majority of people utilizing that perk would be a small percent, during non peak sailings. Wait till summer or school holiday breaks when families are traveling in suites, then the staff will need to make some sort of policy. Let the kinks work itself out.

This was the breakdown of what I just paid for my Oasis cruise 3 weeks ago. $298 total for 2 people. The payouts are what each person would get if we put in a claim. I covered my air/cruise fares, hotel and medical.

Most insurances for cancel for any reason and pre existing medical conditions you have to buy insurance within 14 days of initial payment.
