  1. Thank you. Might have to pick up some French vanilla creamer.

CoffeeMate sells small individual flavored creamers that don't need to be refrigerated and I brought those with me. It was easier to pack. International Delight also has the same things.

  2. Is there anyway that i could get Wasabi to take back to my room instead of eating there? same with the noodle bar?

Yes. I did it on the Breakaway. Just say you want it to go and they will give it to you with a cover.

  3. Thank you so much for the detailed clarification. So I could also have booked only the four adults in the H4, put the two kids elsewhere, had the reservations linked and the actual sleeping arrangements would have been our own private affair. I love learning new rules!

Congrats on the upsell call! But did I read earlier that you declined it? At least it did clarify that you could link cabins that are at opposite ends of the ship. Did you book with NCL directly or through a TA? I'm always trying to get a feel for whether the upsell fairy is more likely to call NCL's PCC customers.

I declined the up sell for 3 reasons lol

    1. I didn't want to give up my huge balcony and I LOVE AFT cabins and

    2. My parents were registered in the suite but sleeping in the balcony and my niece's were flipping back n forth in the sleeping arrangements between the suite and balcony and I didn't want us all to be on 2 different ends of the ship. That ship is too big to be that far away from each other.

    3. It was an additional $4,000 payment bc technically we were 4 people registered in the cabin so it was $1,000pp and my parents were sleeping in the balcony room and I was staying in the suite so I would've had to pay the $4,000 myself and for the 2 of us to upgrade that amount of money wasn't worth it to me.

  4. Even though my immediate issue has been resolved, I still find this thread quite interesting. Particularly:

Godiva830, I've never sailed on the Breakaway but from NCL's website, the AFT Penthouses have a capacity of only 4. Is that correct for your cabin?

If so, this expands the possibilities beyond Nalagh's restriction that you can only get privileges for a suite's capacity.

Or maybe NCL was happy with this because it was just kids in the non-suite cabin.

Or maybe this was just an extension of NCL's definition of a "connecting" cabin for suite privilege purposes.

I'm always interested in finding out what NCL's rules really are. Especially since my TA doesn't seem to know.

Yes the AFT Penthouse only accommodates 4 people. We were 6. All 4 adults have to be listed in the suite to have suite privilege. The kids have to be listed under the non suite cabin. The balcony was able to accommodate 3 people. Adults basically have to pay for suite privileges.

then my sister wanted to come and initially we had the "extra room" in the balcony reservation bc there's only 2 people listed but bc she's an adult, not registered in a suite cabin, she would not have Haven privileges. We would've had to move into another suite so all could have Haven privileges but I was not giving up my AFT Penthouse so my sister was out of luck lol

NCL only makes those kinds of reservations when it's kids listed on the non suite reservation and there's an override they need to do in the system bc it's also 2 minors under 21 being registered into that cabin and the system won't allow minors to be booked in a cabin. It has to be linked to the suite.

Also, about a week before sailing I got an up sell call to go into the Deluxe Owners Suite and I said I had a non suite linked and it was next door to my cabin and if I was to move all the way to the front of the ship and my other non suite cabin was still in the back would they still have Haven privileges and they told me yes they would.

  5. No, NCL does not carry the hot chocolate pods, however they do provide the packages of hot chocolate. You can use the hot water function on the Lavazza machine to make it.

When I was on the Breakaway in August my suite had the hot chocolate pods. The butler was sure to point it out bc I was traveling with kids.

  6. I have done this on the Breakaway this past August...6 people traveling together. 4 adults, 2 kids. I had an AFT Penthouse and a balcony booked. The AFT Penthouse had the 4 adults registered in it and the balcony had the 2 kids listed. The reservations were linked and all 6 of us had Haven privileges. When we were on board we had extra key cards made for the cabins so we all had key cards to each cabin and the kids needed the key card to access the door to the Haven courtyard. The balcony wasn't a connecting cabin BUT it was directly next to the AFT Penthouse. 2 of the adults slept in a "real bed" in the balcony cabin and the kids had the extra beds.

I was on the Breakaway in August when we got diverted from Bermuda to Florida/Nassau. We got $48pp port fee refunded. No additional OBC.

  8. If the Bermuda cruise gets diverted to Florida/Bahamas the water will still be rough. I was diverted in August and the water was rough going down and the beaches had rough waters. Be careful at the beaches.

  9. You have the option to not let the child sign themselves out. Before the counselor finished the sentence asking me if I wanted that option I said absolutely not lol I didn't let my niece's wander alone on the Breakaway. The ship is so big it's exhausting just to walk around, never mind trying to find a child. I saw many many parents by customer service and security with the kids pics bc the parents can't find their kids on board.

  10. The "need to be there the first night" is mostly for the older teenage group. I took my niece's 8 & 10, on the Breakaway in August and they made friends all week long. They loved the kids club! They were in 2 different groups bc of their age. At night the club has different themes, spy night, Hollywood, pj's. Spy night my niece's wanted to wear black. The last sea day the kids put on a show in the theater and during the week they practice for the show. The older group (10) they did plate spinning. My 8 yr old niece also did the plate spinning bc they've been on so many cruises they knew how to do the plate spinning already and helped teach the trick and did sort of a solo at the show lol the girls had a lot of fun and always wanted to be in the kids club, especially at night during the themes.

  11. Thank you. I am leaning that way. Have you been on deck 11 in aft suite? I prefer the layout to that room on deck 11. I know the balcony is smaller on deck 11.

I was in 11908 and I LOVED the cabin set up. I had the bedroom door open all the time to listen to the wake.

  12. The hairdryers on the NCL ships don't get hot enough to dry my hair. I bring my own and my hair dryer is so powerful that it blows the fuse in the cabin and I have to end up using the one that's in the cabin lol

  13. Offering DELUXE OWNERS SUITE!!! I had to decline....$3,600 more than we already paid. :( Plus I said the only way I'd move out of my aft facing penhouse was if it was for free which won't happen....however, since it includes unlimited soda, water, 3 bottles of premium liquor, a bigger bathroom, etc., I was considering but not for $3600 more. I wonder if anyone snatched it up yet.

When I saw the Miami number calling, I was assuming it was pre-concierge.

Same thing happened to me for my Breakaway cruise. They called and for $4,000 more (4 people) we can move to the DOS but I turned it down bc I wasn't giving up my AFT Penthouse lol

  14. My parents have done the Dawn repo cruise to Boston I think 3 times and they're doing it again this April. The first time they did the repo cruise they met a lot of people who are "regulars" that do that cruise and they've all become friends and meet up every cruise. A lot of them stay in suites and have little parties in each others cabins on sea days. They're all very nice, friendly people and I'm sure if you meet up with one of them, especially my dad lol, you'll get to see some nice suites and have some fun times.
