  1. There are activities scheduled during port days but if you won't be onboard during the hours it closes for lunch/dinner you need to sign them up for those scheduled hours and there's a charge bc they take the kids to eat during that time it's "closed." That's for port days only.

  2. I've booked the transportation, only, for the Orlando excursion. We only plan on going Downtown Disney. From reading the description, it sounds like I will have to take a bus to one of the parks and then go downtown. I'm ok with this as I've been to Disney many times and understand the transportation system.

My question is, is there only one time for pickup to take us back to the ship? I'm wondering if I should plan dinner downtown or if we will have time on the ship. I am planning lunch and, of course, a ghiradelli sundae!

Depends on how many people booked the excursion and how many busses are used for the excursion. I think there was 3 or 4 busses when I did it. They tell you what time to be back and what time the last bus is leaving. They give you a phone number to call if your running late. I wouldn't plan dinner, just lunch. The last bus will probably leave 6:45/7ish. It's an hour n 10 min drive. Plus you'll have to factor in travel time using disney transportation. The bus leaves you at the transportation and ticket center.

  3. DH and I plan to get the week-long spa pass on our Breakaway cruise in July. Is the thermal suite co-ed or are the areas separated by gender? We bought spa passes on the Carnival Splendor in 2013 and the whole thermal suite was co-ed so DH and I enjoyed going there together every day, and would love to be able to do that again. Thanks!

The only area that's separated is the locker room, everything else is co-ed.

  4. The people staying in a suite do not need tender tickets bc they get priority tendering. As far as bringing a reunion of people on the priority tendering, it's not going to happen. At most I heard of a family of 6 traveling together, and some not in a suite got to tender with the suite passengers.

The non suite passengers need to get on line for a tender ticket just like everyone else onboard who's not staying in a suite.

  5. Hello

I am just wondering if there is a discounted price for kids who dine in the speciality restaurants? or are they same as adults

    Thanks

    Lachelli

Kids pay half if they order from specialty restaurant menus. If they order from the kids menu that's used elsewhere on the ship, there's no charge for kids.

  6. Well I just received an email from NCL... upgrade from a spa balcony to a haven balcony for 750 pp. Aug decisions decisions; any advice/comments?

If they're offering an upgrade to a Haven Spa Suite then you will have access to the spa as well as the Haven.

  7. Thanks. Is there a separate area (vanity area) like the aft suites have? I didn't see this area in any pictures?

The SJ suites don't have that separate vanity area like the aft penthouses do. I loved that set up the aft penthouses have with the vanity, bathroom, closet area. The bathroom in the SJ suite is bigger. Double sink, separate shower and tub.

  8. We all have balconies on the port side - so we could probably stay on them, too but I understand being up top when going under the Verrazano is pretty cool. We lived north of Rochester in Hilton, will be picking up on son in Ithaca and staying overnight on Saturday in Mahwah, that way we will be pretty close to the port.

My first breakaway cruise I had a port side cabin and we were able to see the fireworks from our balcony. Going under the Verrazano is pretty cool especially since the ship is so tall it looks like it could touch the bridge. Everyday I drive over that bridge to work and everyday I drive over it, I think to myself "I can't wait to be sailing under it!" Lol

  9. Cool - I see you were in the Haven for your 4th - will you be there again?

We are on the 12 deck/balcony rooms - three rooms in a row - traveling with our son, daughter-in-law and their children (Noah - 6 and Julia will almost be 2) and my mom (80). Son has a mini-suite we have family balcony rooms. He wanted a bathtub for their kids - we are ok with just showers.

Where will you be coming from?

This is actually my first cruise not in a suite. I'm definitely going to miss the suite life lol I have an aft balcony on deck 9 this cruise. I had a suite booked on the Dawn to Bermuda for the last week of Aug but we now can't go that week so we switched to the BA and the prices for the Haven are ridiculous!! I've never paid that much for the Haven on the BA that they're charging now. It's just me n my bf this cruise. We'll probably stay on our aft balcony for sail away. That's where I was last year for sail away (aft penthouse) and the previous year we stayed on the Haven sun deck for sail away. This is my 3rd cruise on the Breakaway to Bermuda. I'm so excited! I live in Staten Island.

  10. Does anyone know if there is any chance that there may be an Easter Mass on the weekend of April 5 on the Breakaway?

    Thank you!

I sailed on the Dawn last year on Easter Sunday and it was embarkation day. The only thing "Easter" like onboard was in the mdr they had an Easter dinner on the menu and had some table displays set up with bunnies made out of chocolate and fruits.

  11. It was on the Breakaway all times I've sailed her. On a side note, does the casino on the Getaway have the bothersome policy of picking up AND looking at your cards with one hand as the demand is on the Breakaway? (For both Let it Ride AND 3-card poker).

It's pretty much fleet wide in the casino. Same thing on the Gem.

  12. To Just saying it's pretty rotten of NCL 9 days before the cruise to magically have this change. I highly doubt whether someone booking this cruise or not was contingent on this fact, however that lost hour NCL should reimburse all parties with OBC at the least.

Really? You want ncl to give you obc bc your losing an hour??? How about losing your whole itinerary to Bermuda with less than 24 hours notice from docking in Bermuda bc of a hurricane and we got NO obc. We all just made the best out of our vacation! And no one on our sailing was contingent on this fact either. There's bigger things in life than to cry over losing an hour in a port.
