  1. Happy embarkation day! I’ve enjoyed following your journey to this point and looking forward to reading about your experiences on the ship. We’ll be on Symphony in January 2025 — way too long to wait!
  2. Here's another link. I like the calendar format of this one! Ultimate World Cruise Itinerary Calendar
  3. I think this gets tricky since the lounge and CK are one continuous space. Technically, JS guests are allowed in CK for dinner (space permitting), but do not have all day access to the lounge. During our cruise on Harmony in September, we were asked for our room number almost every time we went to the bar in the lounge. After the first couple of days, most of the bartenders recognized us, but they still generally asked for our room number. I wondered at the time whether they were tracking how many drinks people were getting during and outside of happy hour. Could they have been verifying we were in a full suite?
  4. It felt somewhere in between to me, but closer to a sanctuary than a zoo. From what we could tell, the animals were well cared for. The guide who toured with us was knowledgeable and the animals were very comfortable with him. There are a handful of similar places on the island. I've read good things about Daniel Johnson's Monkey and Sloth Hang Out as well, and we may go there during our land trip in February since we've already been to Victor Bodden's sanctuary.
  5. Glad to hear you went to filet night at CK and enjoyed the filet. I thought it was excellent on Harmony a few months ago. I love your waiter's response to the joke about the cured salmon! 😂 Others may have had different experiences, but we've never had an assistant waiter in CK -- just one, who was our waiter each time we ate dinner at CK. We've occasionally had others stop by to see if we wanted another round of drinks.
  6. Sorry to hear about the shuttle hiccups, but glad the boarding experience was good! We’ll be in the same CL. It’s a great, side-facing location! You chose well!
  7. I'm looking forward to reading your review! You're going to love the Crown Loft. We stayed in one for the first time on Harmony in September and are now hooked. We just booked one on Symphony in January 2025. It's going to be a long wait! Make sure you take full advantage of the suite lounge. They don't seem to advertise it anymore, but you can stop in there for beer/wine/Truly/soda/bottled water anytime between 11am and 11pm. And of course there is the cocktail "hour" when you can get mixed drinks as well. Have a great cruise!
  8. I can't say I'm happy with the price, but it's looking like the best I'm going to get!
  9. Thank you both! That was really my only other concern (besides being able to switch to a different cruise, if necessary). I did notice prices of some suites drop over time for our Harmony cruise, but that was probably because there were still a bunch of grand suites available for that sailing.
  10. Hello! I sailed with DH and DD in a CLS on Harmony in September and had a fantastic cruise. Ever since, I've been looking for a decent deal on a CLS on another Oasis class ship. I haven't had much luck as suite prices on Royal Suite Class ships seem really high across the board. I did find a sailing in early 2025 that we're considering, but I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger. From what I've read, while suite deposits are nonrefundable, you can pay $100/person to switch to a different ship and/or sailing. That helps. I'm wondering about potential price drops, though. What happens if there's a price drop before final payment? It doesn't seem like they'd have much incentive to give us the lower price since we don't have the option of canceling and rebooking. Is there a policy on this? If not, does anyone have personal experience they can share? Thank you!
  11. Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour. Thanks for reporting back!
  12. I love walking Duval Street. So many interesting things to see (and eat and drink!). I wonder if this sign is still in the window at Ben & Jerry's:
  13. Gotta say, I'm a little intrigued by Hand-to-Hand Wombat. Off to Google that one...
  14. Here’s hoping you have a smooth travel day! I have a Moccamaster, too. My favorite coffee maker by far.
  15. I'm very much looking forward to your (semi) live! That song is a guilty pleasure of mine. On the rare occasions I hear it, I crank it up and sing along. The line about having the cheese quesadilla is my personal favorite. Am I the only one??
  16. Like many others, what I love about dinner at CK is the fact that it's a much smaller, quieter venue with more personalized service. Also, in our experience, the pacing of the courses and temperature of the food were consistently good. For those staying in full suites without the DBP, it was also nice being able to get wine and beer with dinner for no charge -- obviously not the case at the specialty restaurants. I realize the OP is in a JS, but I thought I'd mention breakfast for others reading this thread. We are not usually sit down breakfast people, but we enjoyed it so much we went 4 times on our Harmony sailing last month. Everything we ordered was fantastic, but I especially loved their omelets. So, so good!
  17. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I enjoyed my Papa Jac vey much earlier this evening!
  18. Wait... You don't consider the belly flop and world's sexiest man contests good uses of that space?? 😉
  19. I'm glad you got to experience the aqua show, even though the sound level pushed the limits for you. I think those shows are one of the things that set Oasis class ships apart. I don't recall having an issue with the volume in the past, but I really noticed it on Harmony last month. Enjoy your day at sea. Hopefully the captain will keep you in the sunshine.
  20. We did the Random Wind years ago as well. My understanding is their original sailboat was irreparably damaged during Hurricane Irma. I'm glad to see they're back in action! Their Tarzan swing was so much fun. My husband won "King of the Swing" the day we were onboard (beating out a 15 year old boy who was pretty bummed about losing to someone who probably seemed like an old guy to him). Fun times!
  21. Yes, we were there in 2015! I think that place was in Grand Case. It wasn't much to look at, but the food was plentiful and tasty!
  22. We did this tour as well and loved it. We were on the island for a week with another family, and we all had an amazing time. Capt. Bob handles most of the pre-tour communication himself and is great to deal with. We tried to set up a shorter tour for a cruise with a relatively short port day, and Capt. Bob was happy to work with us, but sadly no one else from our sailing signed up. Highly recommend this tour.
  23. When I was on Oasis earlier this year, there were two groups, each with several hundred people. We hardly even knew they were there. One of the groups was CrimeCon (a true crime group), and I think they spent a fair amount of time in seminars in indoor venues. So there was no impact on us at all. If there was a really large (and rowdy) group, that could be a different story.
